About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Great for fine wines
  • Charming
Bistro du Midi's cuisine features French Cuisine inspired by Coastal New England influences. Our wine list represents the true soul of a bistro wine list. In a classic French bistro, wine is very much a part of every meal. As such, we offer a variety of experiences and wines at a tremendous value in a range of prices. Our elegant yet relaxed environment overlooks Boston's beautiful Public Garden with a spectacular view. A street level Bistro features floor-to-ceiling windows, and in the spring and summer our patio provides some of the most optimal al fresco dining in the city.

We loved our meals. My friend had a nicoise salad. I had salmon (cooked to perfection!) and sautéed kale. We had a chocolate soufflé for dessert. My friend said it was the best soufflé she’d ever had. When the people at the next table saw our soufflé, they ordered 2! Noah was our server and he was also tending bar. Busy! Wonderful evening!

Still -- after many years -- the BEST hamburger in town! Requested and received a table is as quiet a location as possible for lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in numerous years.

Very much enjoyed our dinner sitting outside by Boylston Street on a beautiful summer evening. My only slight negative was the fact that it took a long time for first drinks and initial run of appetizers to show up because it was rather busy and the wait staff on the bar floor seemed a little sparse. But they were all super gracious and kind, so this is a minor gripe. Wine selections are really super here and sommelier was great. food was fantastic and I must say that my filet mignon with truffle bordelaise was absolutely delicious. will return!

We ended up staying dowstairs, because we liked the casual atmosphere with music and an open-air view of the commons. Service was off-the-charts friendly. Food was to die for. We had yummy modernized versions of moules and duck confit. If you want the straight-up classics, this isn't your place. But, if you're in for a delicious update of the classics, you will be rewarded.

We experienced the chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing to celebrate our birthdays. The food was wonderful and the wine selection was divine.

Food and service were excellent. One person in our party had a flight to catch . They were able to serve him quicker than the rest of the table which was great. Everyone left happy
