vanilla bean crème anglaise
Lackluster service, despite there only being 8 tables of diners.
a great experience - food- atmosphere and wait staff - love this restaurant
Everything was delicious! Halibut, rib eye, crudo and oysters were flavorful
The food was really outstanding. The service was a little slow and it was a bit pricey. But overall for a first restaurant meal post Covid it was totally worth it
Food was very good overall. The duck breast was excellent and crusted Halibut also. Crudo app and tuna tartare were very good but not exceptional. The bread, particularly for a french restaurant fell shot. Kind of doughy without a crunchy crust. Service was very attentive at the start, but as the Bistro filled became choppy and delayed. Suspect they are having trouble staffing appropriately Overall a very good meal and we would certainly return.
Yum. Duck 👌🏼
I love this restaurant, the food, the view, the ambiance, the tablecloths so, just about everything.
I do feel that you have crowded too many tables into the space - especially against the banquette under the window. With the delta variant still a danger even for the vaxxed, fewer people would also help with the noise which increased as the evening wore on.
Additionally, our bread was rubbery and was at least a day old, no excuse for that on a Saturday night in a fine dining establishment.
Lastly, our waiter was very sweet but a little slow and I had to beckon and prompt her a bit. He seems inexperienced so he should have more training ASAP. He also didn’t entirely get when to take what plates away.
The last thing, I asked for a serving spoon for the bouillabaisse and he said you didn’t have one - really? I suggest you get some or show him where they are. The restaurant was still pretty tame when you asked him so it’s not because it was too busy.
Thank you for asking.
Birthday lunch. Such a wonderful experience and the food is amazing.
Bistro du Midi was a great place to have a business lunch. The service was very efficient and friendly, the ambiance was low key and the salad and lamb we had were excellent.
Delicious food. Wonderful service. Will return again soon.
Everything was delicious. Good cocktails. Raspberry soufflé was excellent (chocolate, too). All first courses and mains really solid, too.
Entire staff from front desk to bartenders and servers were 5star!!
Great food. Poor staffing
As good as it was unusual. The octopus from the trading menu was the best
Delicious food and the second level is nicer than steet level
So so good. What a creative menu! The most amazing pasta. So Yummy. Excellent from beginning to end.
It was great
The octopus was the best thing we ate in Boston.
The best restaurant in Boston. Only Menton can compete. Summer tasting menu is absolutely amazing.
Spectacular menu and preparation of all. The unique ignature drink offerings each were even better than the menu suggested.
The best meal and the best service. We started with the arugula and endive salad split and simply made with a delicious vinaigrette dressing. Then a half dozen oysters from Massachusetts and Rhode Island with a cucumber mignonette that had a terrific tang
For mains I had the half chicken over a summer pea risotto. And Donna had the duck with a rhubarb glaze accompanied by kale and peas and snap beans. Both meals cooked to moist perfection.
And the staff so attentive and never intrusive. One of Boston’s great dining experiences!
This was our first time in this restaurant. Starting with the excellent service, followed by the food and the attention to detail, it was a great place to go. I will keep it in my must go list in Boston.
Wonderful lunch. Carol had muscles and liked the preparation. I had steak frites. Very good meat.
Casual elegant dining. I ordered the halibut. It was the best halibut I’ve had so far. My husband agrees. It was so buttery and delicious. He wishes he had ordered it. Unfortunately, my husband had ordered the arugula and endive salad with salmon. Instead, his order was incorrect and it came with chicken. It was not the greatest. However, service was excellent! They wanted to correct it but he didn’t want to wait for his dinner as I had my food already. We also had oysters for an appetites roll and it was delicious. My husband is not an oyster eater, but he loved it too. Bottom line, a great place for foodies.
Best boullibaise outside of Cote Azur!!!
Four of us enjoyed a wonderful brunch outdoors at Bistro du Midi. Each of us ordered something different and we all enjoyed our meals. The wine was very good also. Our waiters were attentive and let us enjoy extra time at our table. Next time we are in Boston we will be sure to stop by again.
We had brunch here for our anniversary. The location is lovely, overlooking the park. The food was great: ricotta pancakes and prosciutto eggs Benedict. Presentation was sublime! And our waiter was fun and very professional. I would definitely recommend and definitely go back.
Lovely anniversary dinner. Francisco was attentive and knowledgeable, absolutely outstanding. The special tagliatelle with black truffle was superb. Chocolate soufflé was light and fluffy. Truly an enjoyable meal.
Wonderful experience. We splurged on the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairings. Each course was wonderful. It was an experience to remember.
The staff was very nice. On the expensive side even compare to Aquitaine. Portion not huge but slightly more on the American side. They also give you enough bread to fill you up.
The food was outstanding! Had the most amazing Tuna Tartar followed by Pasta. REALLY GOOD!
Service was good but had to ask for bread, utensils and a side plate! Everyone was really pleasant. Thank you.
Excellent Spanish octopus and burger.
Odly, they serve olive oil with their excellent pain de campagne, but did bring butter to the table upon request.
Woderful experience overall.
A lovely birthday dinner with a medley of great tastes...Excellent sauces and very good French cooking which is hard to find in Boston.
Staff is very attentive and knowledgable and the ambiance is great.
Tasting menu extremely well done (foie gras seared in duck fat best i ever had); flavors and presentations all delightfully balanced, with exceptional service. Excellent fine dining destination for special occasions.
Great meal. Warm atmosphere. First time dining here but definitely not the last. One of my new fav’s in the city
Ate downstairs, will definitely try the main dining room upstairs next time. White asparagus soup as a starter was wonderful, perfectly poached egg on top. Salmon with bok choy also excellent. Trio of sorbets (peach and strawberry) and vanilla ice cream for dessert. My husband was NOT allowed the strawberry, that was all for me
We’ve been enjoying Bistro Midi for years, and even better now. Food always been good, but now improved. Excellent baked products. Scone and croissants excellent. For dinner bouillabaisse, salmon, halibut outstanding.
This is a lovely restaurant, especially upstairs, looking out at the Public Garden. Great ambience and a lovely menu, though this restaurant does not do well with dietary restrictions. I love bringing guests here but as a person with dietary restrictions, I find it challenging to eat here.
Simply amazing food
In the past, this has been a wonderful restaurant. Yesterday, however, was a different story. The service started out as excellent, but lost a star during the meal. My Croque Monsieur was, to say the least, terrible. Keeping it, I would have needed a steak knife to cut, and while it was tasty, chewing it was another story. Since there were four of us, it didn’t make sense to order something else, as it would arrive as everyone else was finishing, so just went with the pastry, which took forever to get to the table, and had to wait so long to get utensils, we took them from another table. Also, for the price of a glass of wine, thought the pourings were skimpy, and, in my glass, it was obviously from the bottom of the bottle as it had the sediment from the bottle. Perhaps because it was lunch. We definitely will try again for dinner, but a huge disappointment for this time.
