Bistro Di Marino Ratings and Reviews
I've been to Bistro before and everything went but this time it was a disaster! For starters, We hated the placement of our table. Next, my husbands salad tasted like a bag salad from the supermarket and the rest of our meal was just ok. Lastly, they were running very behind on reservations (an hour at least) so people were coming in and out complaining which was very disruptive to the romantic birthday dinner my wife and I were trying to have. Very disappointed!!
The server was terrific from attentiveness to personality. The gnocchi are the best ever, so light and prepared in very tasty recipes, if you don't want to over do it on the pasta they have an appetizer sampler of 3 choices or just one. My friend & I had a veal dish and it was perfectly prepared, even the left overs were delish. My husband and the rest of our friends had different meals from lasagna to clams in a white wine garlic sauce and everyone was pleased.
The best restaurant in Collingswood, bar none. We live here in town and we have tried all of them, and most are very good, but the Marinos do it right. Everything we order here, from antipasto through dinner and into dessert is absolutely delicious. Jim is an unbelievable chef, and Michael and the staff make us feel like they invited us into their home. Our relatives in Philly say the food is better than anything they have over there, and the friends we bring here rave about the experience. Can't wait until spring so we can sit out on the beautiful patio.
typically the food is great here. Not sure what the problem was this night. I chalk it up to lots of large parties. I ordered veal parm- it was awful. Calamari and Caesar salads were spot on. Steak ordered medium was beyond well. I am not good at complaining, i will be back, but it was not the typical goodness I experience here. I'm only "complaining" so they realize the food was not consistent and can work on a better experience when they are at capacity.
Very hospitable! We had a large group and someone brought a 24pk of beer, which was embarrassing but they quickly grabbed it and said "we'll take care of it for you" brought them back out in an ice bucket. And that's how the rest of the night went. All the employees work together getting food out and take dirty stuff away.
The food was homemade and very fresh. They were very generous with their portion sizes and the price per meal was very reasonable. The service was very good and the waiter was very friendly and attentive. We celebrated with friends and family for the holidays and Bistro Di Marino didn't disappointment. The only hiccup was that two guests initially sat down in wobbly chairs; however, the servers quickly changed them out.
The food at Bistro is absolutely outstanding. I had the lasagne Josephine and it was amazing. The drawbacks: it seems as though around the holidays they try to get as many tables in the restaurant as possible. The place is already a little tight so sitting at a table that you have to ask three people to get up so you can get by and they having the back of your chair touch the persons behind you is not ideal. We had a reservation for two at 6:30 and were not sat until 5 minutes of 7. I understand there are times when your a little behind, but 25 mins, that's a little long. Overall the service and food are excellent and I will definitely continue to be a patron.
Great night. Date night for my hubby and me. We were seated in the front room, which was nice because we were away from the bigger parties and it was more intimate. Our food was delicious, especially the gnocchi! We finished with the cheesecake with black cherry on top...yum!
Our server, Chris, suggested 3 samples of gnocchi as an appetizer. They were delicious and a great way for our party of 10 to share. All of our meals were excellent and full of flavor. The portions were huge and many of us had to go boxes. We will definitely return soon.
We had a great birthday dinner there last Friday with a group of 8 of us. Our appetizers were delicious and so were our meals. We all took alot of left overs home because we filled up on the apps. It is a BYOB so we saved some money by bringing a bottle of wine. Our server was great also and was very attentive. We've eaten here about 6-8 times so far and we recommend you giving it a try. During the spring and summer, I recommend eating outside in their outdoor patio area for the atmosphere.
It was our first visit. We had high hopes. The food was so-so. Calamari Fritti app was tender but not crispy at all, and just warm, like it had been sitting a few minutes too long under the heat lamp. Antipasto app was just OK. The roasted peppers had an off taste. My wife's entree had roasted peppers, which made her think twice about eating anything. My Veal Saltimbocca was swimming is sauce, and had an extra meaty taste. Veal was not very tender either. The Amaretto Tiramisu was not tiramisu at all, but just some kind of layered sponge cake, which was all together overly sweet. The Cannoli were average. With so many restaurant choices, especially in that area, we'll try elsewhere next time.
