Bistro de Paris
Bistro de Paris opened in the neighborhood of Miramar; creating an exquisite menu and leading a top level team. After 10 years, the Bistro moved to its current Santurce location. The current kitchen team is a diverse group headed by Mr. Dupont and his partner Estefán Gargost.
We are across the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico, around the corner from the Santurce Fine Arts Center (Centro de Bellas Artes), and a few blocks from the beach (10-minute walk or two-minute drive).
Excellent food and service.
Consistently delicious. Onion soup is solid. I always order fish and it’s always very nicely prepared. Not your heavy usual kind of French food. Potatoes au gratin are always yummy (maybe just a pinch of salt). Some interesting dishes with curry (mussels, pasta with lobster) and plenty of hot oven baguette from start to finish. Forgot to finish with Thierry’s tarte tatin. Will have to return for that one.
Owner was delightful. Fodd was amazing as always. Wine was perfectly paired
La primera visita desde el Huracán Maria. Fue bueno volver a visitar a Thiery y a Jose. El ambiente, servicio y cena, excelente. Fue bueno volver. Buen provecho. !!!!!
Great French restaurant. One of my favorites.
Restaurant was full which I believe caused the service to be slower than other times.
We've been going to Bistro de Paris for many years and always enjoyed the food. Then, on Jan 30, 2019, three had dinner there, and the food for all three was utterly terrible. Two steaks very small-portioned ordered rare were overcooked beyond recognition - beyond well-done, and the trout was broiled until it was like cardboard and inedible. To top it off the head waiter was exceptionally rude. We had an 8:00 reservation, had a drink and ordered an appetizer when the head waiter told us that the kitchen was closing at 8:45 and we needed to order now from a limited menu. Suffice to say we will never go back. There are too many good restaurants in San Juan to suffer through bad food and bad service.
If I blindfolded you and brought you here you would think you were in some French cafe. The atmosphere and food is authentic. The fillet mignon with French fries are delicious and cooked perfectly. If you are lucky enough to visit when the owner’s parents are visiting from France you can enjoy more French classics. We have also tried the trout, escargot and have not been disappointed

Ambiente, siempre es una gran experiencia
Excellent food, wine and ambiance. Will be going back for sure.
Everything was great except I had a reservation for 6pm had to wait 16minutes because the table was occupied
Not only have I previously eaten there but I have recommended it to many people as we were 4 this past Saturday. I should also say this restaurant is in Puerto Rico
Amizing food, great experience. The chef and the waiters are amazing.
Thierry and his team always do a fantastic job with the service and the delicious cuisine. One the best and most-consistently good places in San Juan.
We had the most dissapointing experience with this restaurant. We had a reservation for two at 7:45, but arrived 15 min earlier. Someone took us to a table (from which he had to move out a person who was sittitng at the bar), gave us the menu and walked away. Later, another person came to ask us to move because the table was reserved. Then a lady came and started arguing with the guy about moving us, while we were standing in the middle of the room with everyone else watching. We decided to leave, as it was clear that they were overbooked and lacked organization to deal with the situation. It is a shame, because this spot used to be one of the best restaurants in the area, but clearly, service and customer attention has decayed.
Was perfect!! Delicious food and great ambiance!! ❤️❤️
Was Perfect!! My favorite French restaurant in PR!!
A very enjoyable place to meet with friends or family. My only recommendation is that on live music nights the volume should be lowered so that conversation is not hindered.
Lovely traditional Parisian menu executed with care and pride.
Great food and excellent service . My only complaint was use of paper napkins instead of cloth napkins
Le Bistro du Paris is a hidden gem with truly exciting French Food and authenic French atmosphire... Mainly locals and chic Foreigners
looking for a Fabu meal !!!
Always awesome to come to the Bistro de Paris, their food is spot on perfect
Service staff very friendly and helpful.
Food not great, but good enough. Ambiance very good. Would go back again
We were excited to visit this restaurant. The waiting staff was attentive. We had to wait a long time for our food to arrive. After waiting close to 1 hour for our food we received the wrong order. After a few minutes the waitress realized and took the plate from front of me and place it on the other table. The food was good.
We also had the uncomfortable experience of listening a rant (from who we think is the chef) about how the food was what he decided, not how the customer wanted. That really killed the mood for us.
I’ve heard so many good things about this place. We were really disappointed by the overall experience.
Bistro de Paris is always perfect! We just forget it is there :(
Excellent experience overall: service, food and fun!
We have been long time raving fans of Thiery !
Combine your concert at Bellas Artes with pre or post wonderful meal!
I use to go to this restaurant every time I touch PR. I don't know, but this time I wasn't impacted as I use to be . Maybe was the circumstances that everybody are in Puerto Rico. Doing their best with what they have. I have to go next month to PR. I will keep you posted with my next review.
As always a great dining experience. Regardless of the occasion any day is a great day to dine at El Bistro de Paris.
Food was excellent as in the past, but service was a little off. Had to wait while party seated after us was given the specials blackboard and then had to ask for it. Then had to further ask for prix fixe menu. When food arrived, was never asked how the meal was (needed fresh cutlery). Noted that this was a birthday celebration on reservation but not mentioned by management - wasn't looking for freebee but just acknowledgment.
Great food, excellence people.
Exclente trató y calidad de la comida!
This was like being in Paris. The décor, food and service were magnifique.
The best food, ambiance and service
Owner Thierry delivers very high quality output from the Bistro's kitchen and smooth service by his loyal team. Classic French menu and cooking.
Worth going to, particularly if attending a concert at teh Centro de Bellas Artes around the corner.
I never miss visiting this restaurant when I am in Puerto Rico. Recommend the Steak au poive and do not skip dessert. Always have the bread pudding!
The worst experience that I can remember. This was about the fourth or fifth time for us dining at this restaurant, and definitely the last time.
First of all, we were seated in an area of the restaurant where the tables are too close. I could literally extend my arm and touch the next table. Too close for comfort, especially because the couple sitting next to us spent the hour and a half that we were there coughing and blowing their noses. The waiter brought the bread and the water, took our orders as usual and brought the soup. French onion soup, good but not great, and cream of pumpkin soup, so-so.
Then after 50 minutes of waiting for our order, the waiter came and said that they had had a minor problem but that our dishes were coming. A second helping of bread announced silently that it would not be a few minutes for our order to come. All I could think of was that they had forgotten about us. The restaurant was kind of busy tonight. After 20 more minutes, the waiter came, apologized again and said that our order was the next one coming out of the kitchen. Twenty long minutes of nose blowing music passed before he came triumphantly: with the wrong order. Not only they had forgotten about us, they also forgot what was it what we had ordered. When we told the waiter that we had not ordered what he brought he apologized again and informed us that we would have to wait even more.
Of course, we left.
My advice: don't go. But if you decide to go anyway, don't go on a Saturday at 8:00 PM
