Bistro Central Parc - SF Ratings and Reviews
Great French food. The tartare was excellent not like CA cuisine in chunks so the ingredients don't blend well. It was typically French which we loved. Lots of options so if you like French food there is almost nothing you can't get. It is expensive but worth eating there.
My husband and I were looking for a nice french bistro closer to home, and discovered this great neighborhood gem. Great food, and I wish I had discovered this cozy restaurant sooner to avoid the chaotic downtown traffic, which is now a common occurrence 7 days a week.
Lovely casual French bistro in NOPA. Parking was not a problem at 7 on Friday night. The food was excellent as was the wine. The service was friendly and professional. The place was about 50 percent full at 7 but was full by the time we left at 8:30. Will be back for sure.
Sadly this was always one of our consistent favorite restaurants; however, after a chef and owner change the food just wasn't as good. It was our first disappointing meal after well over 10 meals here. We hope they can recover and return to be the awesome restaurant that it was.
When visiting San Francisco we have looked forward to dinner at Bistro Central Parc. In the past we have recommended this establishment for its tasty food and reasonable prices (for a French restaurant). This past time my wife ordered the Bouillabaisse and I ordered the Risotto, lobster sauce, scallops. Neither dish was up to there past performance and the prices were higher than what is listed on the Open Table menu. The salmon in my wife dish tasted awful and old and the portion very small. I must say the wait staff was very friendly as has been in the past. So, take you chance, maybe this was just a bad night for the cook. We may return here, but I think we will venture to another location in the interim.
I wish I could be more upbeat about this restaurant. It is in a great location and within a 10 minute drive to the de Young Museum. The decor is lovely. The waiter seated us right away, and then ignored us for 20 minutes. There were only 3 tables with guests, and he was 5 feet from us the entire time. It took forever to get our drinks, and then he forgot some of the beverages. We ordered baked brie and another appetizer - they arrived cold and we had to ask for more bread (it arrived burned)! Then we ordered eggs benedict - they arrived cold with greasy potaotes. The ham was cold, and the English Muffin was so hard we all had to request steak knives to cut it!!! We asked for coffee and were never offered refills. He was also short-pouring my white wine. Serious? The entire time the waiter was not more than 5 feet from us and he kept ignoring us. The portions are pitiful and the price tag was way too high - no value here whatsoever. We were so looking forward to this place, but all four of us were disappointed. We won't be coming back.
We really enjoyed our dinner! The steak fritte was outstanding.
Who doesn't love those crispy frittes? Crunchy and hot make them the best I
have had for a long time. The steak was cooked to order and topped with an herb
butter that made for a fine repast.
Salad and green beans fresh from the farm.
Thanks for a great meal....bon jour. June
I had the "shrimp toast" which had an incredible sauce that made me want to lick the plate! I then had the filet mignon with the pate de foie gras. I found the wine reduction to be a little too sweet, but it had a wonderful flavor. The filet was cooked exactly the way I asked. I didn't have dessert, but the people that were eating dessert, looked mighty happy!!!
From the time you enter to the time you leave the folks here really know how to treat their customers. Combine that with excellent food, and prompt service, you have the makings for a really great experience. Yes of course as with any place it can't be perfect, however the only gripe I may have is when it's packed and hustling the table setting can be small or tight for those of the larger stature.
Food was great! I had the Filet in a Port Reduction Sauce, my wife had the Rack of Lamb. Wine was very good. Dessert was to die for. The only thing I didn't like was the bread, they should find something closer to real french bread. A bit pricey but worth it.
My fiancé and I have dined at Bistro Central Parc several times over the past year since moving to SF, and we always leave satisfied with the food and service! They are very consistent in delivering delicious, classic French flavours (the sauces are always spot on) and a great selection of wines and deserts. They have regular staff who are attentive and go above and beyond to satisfy. Plus, the recent addition of a nice lighting feature on the ceiling has further elevated the ambiance of this beautiful little restaurant.
We love that we can get this high quality of food and service at such a reasonable price, which has made it one of our favourite spots in the city. It really is a neighborhood gem.
Since the museum closes at five we were looking for a restaurant that opened at that time. We knew it was an early reservation not our usual style or the French Restaurant's style. Though we hit the jackpot! Our server was able to spend more time with us and it was fun to discuss the dishes and the wine. Since he is from Paris, and we love that town, we talked about his education and his knowledge of food. He was totally charming and so efficient!
My husband had the halibut on a medallion of roasted cauliflower. Excellent!!! It was juicy, flaky and tasty, and the presentation was tops. I had the Tornedoes Rossellini topped with seared foi gras on a generous pool of port reduction. Again, outstanding!
We ordered cheese for desert and our server brought it up to room temperature under the heating lamp. Perfect!
Since it was my Birthday our server treated me with Profiteroles with a candle on the side and wished me Bon Anniversere! Nice treat! And I shared it with my date!
Excellent service and fantastic cuisine. Always something wonderful on the specials list of the evening. The menu is a little traditional but also contemporary and it's easy to find something truly tasty to eat. The people running the place make you feel at home. It can feel confined or constrained as I am a tall and large man and the seating is delicate, very close proximity.
