Bistro By The Tracks
The food was delicious. The mussels were great, but had been held up in kitchen; those not in the sauce were cold. Our waiter was professional, but not present. We had reservations for 7:15, we’re not seated until 7:55, bar staff seemed taxed. Pricey for the fact they were apparently understaffed.
Great experience on Valentine’s Day, when most restaurants are overwhelmed. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, the server was attentive, the food was excellent and surprisingly timely, considering the load on the kitchen. Kudos to the host, the chef and our server!
The welcome was great, the bar service while waiting on our table was great, the service was good, Valentine’s Day they very busy, and the food was fantastic.
Great restaurant with nice ambiance. Friendly wait staff. However, dinner service was extremely slow. Not sure if it was a particularly busy night but we waited quite a while between salad and main course. We had a 6:15 dinner reservation and didn’t leave until after 10 pm. The food was fairly good, but unfortunately the Caesar salad was pretty awful. I’m a huge fan of a Caesar and have had hundreds in restaurants both locally and around the world and I’ve got to say it was one of the absolute worst. Yes, I would go back but I hope they make a few changes to elevate the dining experience.
The fish special was delightful. We each tried a different sauce and loved both. Lovely and attentive service.
I went here with our family to celebrate a birthday. Our service was excellent. The server helped my mom find the perfect wine and was very attentive. The food was great. A little pricey, but worth it for the quality of ingredients. We did have a steak that turned out a little cold which was a bit of a disappointment, but overall a great experience.
A great place for a dinner date. Quiet ambience and unobtrusive service. When we want a low key quality dinner this is our go-to place.
Had out of town guests. Needed a place for larger group. Great food and service
I used to love Bistro. Started eating there long ago when it was down by the tracks. It wasn't as good the last couple of times we had been there, but now it is to the point that I won't return. My wife had the pasta special. She thought the portion was a little small, but good. She was as shocked as I was when they sat my duck two ways down. The portion was about what we would feed our 4 year old niece. The duck breast was the size of a deck of playing cards. It was very tough, like it had been microwaved somewhere in the process. It was also barely warm. The confit portion was, and I am not joking, the size of a silver dollar and about 1/8th inch thick. That said it was so bad that I took one small bite and that was all I could take.
There was hardly anyone there, so maybe others have discovered what we did. Sad to see a once great place go so far down hill.
The service was absolutely top notch. Steak was amazing! Good drinks at a fair price and decent deserts.
12/31/2019 New Year Dinner
A very unique and special New Year occasion at Bistro By The Tracks! The service, drinks, and food were the very best! The effort put into creating a New Year menu was well noticed and appreciated! The scallop appetizer was delicious, and a better choice than the eggs & caviar, because the caviar was not traditional caviar nor was the egg pudding a pudding, resembled a hardened blob! The eggs & caviar was an attempt at a very traditional delicate and extravagant appetizer, but traditional Ossetra caviar should only be used with an egg pudding that is less viscous but remaining in form, and served with freshly made blinis and a pearl spoon! This would increase the price two or three fold but for gourmet cuisine, well worth the improvement! The beef filet and the dry aged ribeye were incredible, as were the salads, sides, and carrot cake dessert! Have a look at the pictures of the food and menu!
Very nice atmosphere the service was great the people are friendly that work there. Had been there before but hadn’t been at the particular location. We will surely go back in the future
Food and service were great. It was a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner. The only thing I would recommend for this fine dining establishment would be for the host to pull out the chairs for the ladies when seating.
The service was extremely slow. The food was mediocre. They forgot some of our items until we reminded them. All-in-all meh.
Our first visit to Bistro (and certainly not our last) was an absolute dream. My date and I received excellent service and enjoyed every bite of our 4 courses. Our server made us feel like we were the only two people in the restaurant with his attentiveness, yet gave us the perfect amount of space to where we were never rushed and able to savor the evening. We enjoyed a delightful bottle of Prosecco as well as a couple of cocktails. Their list is quite extensive and I look forward to going through it on future visits. I can’t think of a single thing I would change (down to the seating, I loved our booth!) and hope everyone can have a night that enjoyable. A hearty thank you to the staff for such a wonderful experience!
Everything was excellent
They have a wonderful Sunday brunch. Will be going back soon.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Knoxville with excellent service and ambiance and very good food. We all like the appetizers, salads, main courses and deserts we ordered. Only the side dishes were weak. The drinks were excellent and the wine list extensive but a little pricey. We will definitely go back.
Wonderful dinner and relaxing atmosphere. Thank you! Keep up the great service
My husband and I took an out of town friend to dinner to celebrate his graduation. We arrived to find out our table wasn’t ready because “there’s been a lot of foot traffic tonight” which I interpreted as giving our table to someone without a reservation. Seated 25 minutes later, at a very small table that was clearly meant for 2, next to a HUGE party consisting of many tables turned sideways and turned into 2 long tables, about 40 people. The table was so close to ours that we had to turn sideways to get in and out. Our server didn’t arrive for 20 more minutes after that. She was very apologetic but the entire night was waiting and more waiting. When this large party decided to mingle after their first course, we spent the majority of our experience with many rear ends in our view. Many times right next to my face. I’ve never been so ready for a dinner to be over. The bill was over $250 and the experience was awful. I’m still sick to my stomach when I think about the cost vs the experience. I don’t anticipate ever going back to this restaurant. :(
Excellent meal. Service was superb. Osso Buco was outstanding.
Bistro by the Tracks is a nice place with a unique menu and quite atmosphere that lends itself to date night and business meetings. Wine seems to be their thing and they have an extensive wine list. The service was very good and the prices were not outrageous. I say give it a shot.
The food was excellent as normal. The time until our food was delivered was longer than it should have been.
While we have always enjoyed the food and ambiance BbtT will rarely be in our dining rotation going forward. They've become too proud of themselves and the price/serving is no longer acceptable. Pasta of the day was my menu choice and I added shrimp and scallops to the entree. I was charged $24 extra for 5 shrimp and 2 scallops. And the pasta portion might have been about 3/4 cup. We were promised bread and this is the 2nd time we've been there and not been served bread. The chocolate cake was dry. The carrot cake was uninspired. So 2 cocktails, 2 house wines with dinner, 2 wedge salads, 2 pasta of the day - 1 with chicken and mine with the seafood, 2 desserts and coffee was $160 before tip. Usually we do salad or dessert, not both, but the portions were so small that we did both and were not overly full. I can spend that much at Citicos or Kitchen 919 and it will include a bottle of wine and appetizers and their ambiance, food quality and service are on par.
Overall our experience was good. My wife's filet was poor. The cut of meat was end and it was tasteless. Not sure if you ran out of good cuts but that put a damper on what was otherwise a nice evening.
The food was amazing, good selection of menu items, the atmosphere was definitely upscale without being pretentious, and Mike was a terrific server.
TJ was fantastic! We enjoyed the experience...great restaurant!
Food was very good. Portions for the entrees were not substantial. All items were a la carte.
The food was good quality but the seasonings on the item we ordered was not what we were expecting. We eat out at many different places, so I am comparing this restaurant to the same kind of places. The preparation just did not jump to and say "wow". It was good but would not rate it 5 stars. The ambiance of the restaurant is great and they have the most extensive wine list that I have seen. They may have some fantastic dishes, but the ones we tried, Three, were not. Price point was what I expected for this caliber restaurant but I was expecting an exceptional cut for the Pork Chop, it was thin for a bone in chop. Overall nice but not great.
Great spot for very good food with great wait staff!
One of the best meals had in Knoxville, really recommend this restaurant.
Found this place on Open Table while traveling. Very pleasant surprise.Lovely room in nondescript shopping center. Outstanding wine list and many interesting options for both appetizers and entrees. Food was very well executed and friendly and excellent service by Michael. Definitely worth a visit.
The food took to long to arrive at table we waited for over an hour and the restaurant was only 60% full.
Wait staff was friendly and like the layout just the kitchen is very slow.
Unfortunately, our food was not very good this visit. My gnocchi were hard and chewy and warm but not hot. Disappointing this time. We will return because usually we enjoy every bite.
As always, Bistro was wonderful. It is a stable, go to restaurant where you can never go wrong!
Still one of the best restaurants in the Knoxville area: food, service, ambiance, and value! Thanks!
Jerry was our waiter for our first and second visit here. He is such a lovely person and made the evenings even more special. This is a new favorite restaurant for us. The food is impeccable, and such a nice wine and cocktail selection. We will come back again and again on our travels through Knoxville.
We went to celebrate my parent's 63 wedding anniversary. They treated us like family!
Very large group of business people present making inappropriate amounts of noise made our usually relaxing midweek dinner frustrating. I will call ahead in the future to inquire regarding such groups again before dining .
