Service was a bit slow but to be expected on a Monday. Food was excellent
I went to this restaurant because they are famous for their iconic sour dough bread. The whole place smells like delicious fresh baked bread. The ovens vent onto the sidewalks luring you inside.
Upon being seated, a basket of cold chewy bread arrived to the table along with two pots of margerine to spread on to it. It wasn't even sour dough bread. Even though the restaurant is directly above a working bread bakery, we could not get warm bread brought to our table. The waiter claimed they didn't have any way of warming the bread available as a conveyor belt if fresh baked bread moved below us. He said he could microwave the chewy cold bread that he served. Yuck!
Excellent atmosphere, superb service, diverse food and drink menu. We chose this place to have quiet conversation and it was perfect!
Had my birthday lunch here and we all loved it, our server was really kind and he even gave me a delicious warm chocolate dessert with a candle in it. The food was delicious, I had the angel hair pasta with grilled prawns and it was fantastic. We would definitely come back.
Had the chowder bread bowl for dinner; very good.
Celebrated our first visit to San Francisco and our 36th Wedding anniversary with dinner here.
Food and service were very good but felt the prices were on the high side for what we had, although the view across the bay was priceless!
Would return without hesitation.
Took my friend for her first time to San Francisco
We have eaten here in the past. It is very good in an otherwise very touristy area.
A great place right on Fisherman’s Wharf, worth a visit , good value too
We had 830 reservations for 8 people. We go there at 810 and checked in. We didn’t get seated until 855. Seems a bit long to wait when we made reservations three days in advance. Once seated, our server was excellent and the food was super delicious.
We were in San Francisco celebrating our anniversary/my husbands birthday and decided to eat here on our last night. The fresh bread was amazing, I wish we had extra. We ordered the whole Dungeness crab for 1 and the filet mignon along with a cup of corn and crab chowder. The chowder was delicious (My first to try it). My husband and I split both the filet and the crab. The crab was delicious and made me wish we had ordered the crab for 2 instead of the filet. The reason I gave the food 4 stars instead of 5 was because I ordered my steak medium rare and it was definitely medium/medium well. So it was a little bit dry but was not worth complaining because the crab was so good it made up for the steak. Would highly recommend this place. We used open table around 5:30pm and were able to make a reservation for 7pm.
Excellent location with a nice view. It's always fun to take a walk above the bread factory. The bread, as you'd expect, is excellent. The remainder of the food, however, is only fair. The service was also fair.
Had a very good dinner. Second time we have been. Both times very good. Good value for tourist location. Whole grab and halibut were excellent.
It's a wonderful dining experience! The bread is really delicious! And the bread bowl is the most special dish I was ever taken!
Disappointed in the slow service and inattentive server. Food was average. Wished we would’ve eaten elsewhere in the Wharf.
They did not attempt to meet any requests for substitutions
Food was great, however they service was very slow. The restaurant was relatively empty but our server was super slow. I could see the other server been attentive to their table, we just got unlucky
Only 1 of 4 beer taps working
Extremely overpriced even for the Wharf. Food was average at best and not worth the prices they charge.
The sour dough bread and crab and corn chowder was delicious.
The appetizers were fantastic. Desserts were fabulous. The filet mignon was delicious. My clam chowder was a bit watery. It would've been great if it was a tad thicker. Our waiter was very attentive and very fast. Excellent service at our table as well as at the bar. We had a last minute change took our reservation. We went from a group of 4 to 6 and they were very quick to accommodate us. I can't wait to return for the crab dip. Sooo good!
Sourdough bread bowl with clam or crab chowder worth the drive.
Watching the bread dough being processed from flour to baked loaf in the adjoining viewing area was a special treat.
Very good overall. Nice view of the water. Even though it was in a tourist area, it exceeded expectations. Don't miss the self-guided bakery tour. Quick but interesting.
I requested a table on the water side and called and confirmed that and then we did not get a table on the water side. Disappointing.
Really enjoyed our meal there. Great view, ambience and food .
Clam chowder in a bread has been their specialty and we visited them again to enjoy that together with the oysters, and some other sea foods. This time I feel that the amount of the chowder is less than expected and the quantitative balance between the chowder and the bread was not good. Moreover, the waiter was too busy and he did not present any smile.
Great food with a good view of fisherman’s wharf. Scallops with pork belly were great
We needed a hotel near our hotel for a family get together and this suited the bill. There are so many seafood restaurants near Fisherman's wharf and we found this to be a better option. The food was good and, obviously, the bread was excellent. Pricing was moderate. Service was excellent.
Used a Travelzoo voucher, so we got a great deal! Outstanding food, service and views. I'd definitely return.
Excellent food and service. Best fish and chips I ever had.
Travelzoo deal was no deal. Food was ok, but lukewarm, which isn’t very appetizing with scallops. Service was fine and server attempted to rectify situation with a remake of one of orders. Manager was clueless.
Great experience for our first time here. Food was great as well as the service.
As locals, we seldom dine at Fisherman’s Wharf, but Yahoo ran a promotional deal that brought us in, overall the experience was good, tasty goat cheese appetizer, well prepared scallops and pork belly, nice cocktails, the only mediocre thing was the Caesar Salad, it tasted as if it came out of a bag at Trader Joe’s. If in the area, we’d likely go back.
Great value through the TravelZoo site. The ambiance was good and service efficient. Could have been more personable though. Good attention paid to filling water glasses and bread basket. Limited but good selection of food items. The Caesar Salad lacked flavor so did the Petrale sole. bland. The Filet was done perfectly served on a large plate which made it look like there was something missing.
overall, the experience was pleasant and we will return.
Server forgot our appetizers. Never got them. However we had to ask for them to be removed from our bill. Soup and soup bowl were very good
Excellent views and great food! The vegetarian options did not disappoint either!
Bistro Boudin has delicious food, excellent service, and great views. Validated parking makes it convenient. There is a museum on the same floor as well as the Boudin gift store downstairs. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Kenya our server was fabulous! My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and mashed potatoes best I've had in a very long time.
Pleasantly surprised by this tourist spot. Food was excellent quality. I had the scallops which was cooked perfectly. It was served with pork belly... divine combination. Beef stew was reported by the husband to be very good and tender. My kids loved the crab Mac n cheese. Server was attentive and pleasant. Chowder with bread bowl was excellent. I would have liked it to be more piping hot.
