Wish the bread was warmer and fresh. Coming to a bakery and getting cold hard bread was disappointing.
Ice teams was missing the crispy cookie.
Service was excellent!
Easy to get a window table for Saturday 6PM seating. Quick and professional service, wide selection.
My favorite place in all of San Francisco for the best signature clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. I usually just go to the cafe downstairs, but wanted a guaranteed table and so reserved upstairs in the Bistro. Great holiday feel (it’s December 1st) and we got a window-front seat. I come here for the comfort food and good vibes, but note that it’s not fine dining. It’s more about the ambience and fresh bread. Always love the smell of the bakery and watching the bakers in the factory / museum. I always take my out of town visitors here!
The Thanksgiving special was a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. The roasted root vegetables were outstanding, as was a cranberry chutney. The sourdough bread, of course, was excellent.
I would certainly recommend bistro boudin to anyone. Food was very good not exceptional but at a level nearby
`the kitchen is generally good
And the staff is doling a good job
We were seated in a quiet part of the restaurant which made the experience much better
Thanks for a nice thanksgiving
We celebrated Thanksgiving in SF with 8 family members from three different states. I made the reservation in October. Our group included 88 year old grandmother with hearing issues. Restaurant sent email to confirm our reservation. When we arrived, the table was ready. It was upstairs in a quiet room with 3 round tables. Our group sat in the corner table. Christmas LED retro lights graced the wrap around windows and we had a view of the street below. A basket of yummy sourdough bread arrived. They served Thanksgiving menu but the regular menu was also available. There were 3 vegans in our group. The waiter made sure to tell the kitchen to make different sauce for the pasta primavera which usually contains cream. The price was $19.99 and it was appetizer sized but very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Afterwards we toured the bread bakery factory downstairs. It was DIY since no tours due to holiday. It was still fun and informative. We will always have a beautiful memory of Thanksgiving 2019 thanks to this lovely dining experience.
Excellent service, great food and locations. We had lovely thanksgiving dinner a Budin. Very nice room upstairs with ocean view.
Thanksgiving meal delicious!
Great place for the family. Excellent food.
A reliable spot. Best bread bowl experience without the tourists.
Very good fish and wine at an affordable price !
Very nice moment
Had to wait for the table despite the reservation, service was slow and the food wasn’t that good.
Josh was wonderful and food was delicious! It was a positive experience
Our family of four had lunch here after the airport and before sightseeing around the wharf. Great food for all with generous portions of crab in the salads and chowder ( of course in a bread bowl. )Hamburger for the child was great. Fantastic views of the bay and a bread museum and walk around tour of the bakers and bread. They even have sculptures made of sourdough bread.
Very short walk to the museum of antique arcade games and dioramas, which is great for all ages.
Right next to that is the naval ship museum.
Lots to see and do.
We ate early, about 5:30. We were seated by the window and had a beautiful view. Our server was great. I had a bread bowl of the crab and corn chowder. My husband had a salad. Both were just what we wanted.
Fun and delicious place to go for lunch after visiting Alcatraz!
Great meal, awesome views, courteous service!
Great restaurant. Great food. Service was just okay. Definitely give it a try.
Always a great restaurant experience. This time brought my family for a delicious dinner and had excellent service and food was tasty! Also, I've had the opportunity to meet Rorie - restaurant manager on a previous lunch experience with a client and elated to see her again, definitely felt welcomed!
Our server was fantastic! We were lucky to be seated by the window with a great view of the bay. Food delish. Had the empanadas and fish n chips. A little pricey but that's San Francisco ☺️
Aubrey was a terrific waitress! Very personable and consistently checked on us to see what we needed.
Very slow service
Pasta much too oily.
Casual, good food
Excellent! Great view and delicious food! Plus the bread being made was fun to watch! Such a production! Very interesting! Nice piece of San Francisco history!
Cioppino and sourdough bread is very good. Server Gary is not
Service, food and drinks were fabulous!!! Steve E took excellent care of us. We left very happy & full.
This is generally a great place to go.. this time we just did not get the std of service we are used to.
Had a beautiful late lunch at Boudin.
The food was excellent and the bread is good as well, obviously.
Very slow service
I used to visit the bakery as a kid and it has changed completely! It has gone from a small bakery to a full fledge business with restaurant, gift store and awesome bread displays. We ate at the Bistro and the food was delicious from the surf and turf to the beef stew, there are great options for all tastes. The drinks and jazz group added to the sounds of the wharf and people going by at sunset from our balcony table.
First time my fiancée was in San Francisco. I had to take her to a local favorite.
Another great experience at Bistro Boudin! We were celebrating my sister-in-law and husband's 40th wedding anniversary and the service, the food and the ambiance were excellent as always! I had forgotten what chimichurri is, and it was served over my "perfectly cooked" filet mignon and my lobster. What a great addition to my meal! I have to admit that I was expecting it to be spicy and be disappointed, but NO! It was the original chimichurri! A BIG applause to the Chefs. You will see us again and again when we bring out-of-town guests or when we just want a good meal in a fun environment. By the way they also enjoyed the Boudin Museum. A perfect evening!
Was lovely. Bit pricey but nice. Would recommend to friends
We had a fantastic 18th birthday dinner here. Good drinks and delicious food with amazing views of the bay.
The waiter took forever to get our drinks and to even get to our table to introduce himself. I was disappointed especially because of how much money the bill was. It just wasn’t worth it. However, they do have an amazing crab cake.
They changed the crab dish from cold
To hot and it was just ok
Bring the cold dish back
A bit touristy, but still pretty food. Good location, and great bread!
The server was polite and expeditious with our orders. Needless to say, the food/bread was extraordinary. Each of us ordered different lunches (pizza, chowder bowl, salmon, steak sandwich) and all of us were overwhelmed by the portions and the flavor. ps - we loved the bread so much that some of us took a few loaves home and some ordered online to have it delivered back to the East Coast.
Poor service, very slow. However, great food and views.
