A perfect place to go for lunch especially when you are at an event at the Richmond Convention Center. It's about a 15-minute walk which get you away from the crowds, you takes lunch reservations, and the food is fabulous!
Great food, great service, eclectic, modern yet intimate atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed our experience here!
Delicious with great service
Intimate atmosphere, superb service, delicious food and a few unique cocktails contributed to our Crystal Anniversary celebration.
Excellent food and service! Authentic French food prepared well.
Worst Valentine’s Day ever, will never be back, waited 45 minutes for
Drinks, food took hours everything was cold.
Still Going Strong with excellent food quality.
Saw a few recent negative online reviews, WOW!!!! hard to please the negative crazies who sound like they never will be happy.
As business people and New Yorkers, we value the quality offerings and dine every time in town. Not many local establishments get it like they do.
This time on a date. It was so busy, had to be difficult for kitchen to be perfect. My date LOVED it! Hip NY atmosphere, impressive food offerings at a bargain price.
Thank you guys!!! See you soon.
Terrible experience in all regards. Granted it was Valentines Day dinner, but we did have a reservation. Seated 20 minutes late even though the restaurant was 75% full. Waited another 20 minutes for our server to notice us and take drink orders. Waited another 20 minutes after which our drinks still had not arrived. Walked out and vowed never again Bobette.
I have had better meals at Bistro Bobette in the past. This particular experience was less enjoyable than others. I would, however, still recommend dining there. As with any restaurant, not every meal will be a home run. This particular one was more like a ground rule double...
Wonderful experience with excellent food, wine and enjoyable wait staff.
Simply exquisite and delicious. A perfect celebratory business lunch. Always delivers. Expensive yet that’s expected due to the quality of the cuisine and the ambience. Overall-Excellent.
Their truffle mac and cheese served in an adorable cast iron pan is a must! It appears small, but its velvety cheese paired with the earthy flavor of the truffle is wonderfully held together by the tender pasta is surprisingly filling. Save some bread to clean up any remaining cheese. The steaks were all perfectly prepared (orders range from rare to medium) and very flavorful. I am drooling as I am writing this. We love bringing our friends here to experience the delicious food!
As usual Bistro Bobette was excellent.
The service is great, attentive but not on your shoulder.
The food is imaginative and "sustainable".
Overall very good value for money!
Wonderful, server Richard was excellent. Fois gras, coq au vin, perfect preparations! Will go back, for sure!
Susan had the fish of the day - a very tasty salted flounder - while I chose the slow roasted half duck. Both were very tasty and our server was attentive without being obtrusive. We look forward to a return visit soon!
Excellent service and excellent food, can’t wait to go back!
Food was delicious, great ambiance , staff friendly and attentive
Food has always been fabulous here - it's a great spot in Shockoe Bottom area of downtown Richmond. We will come again!
We were staying in Richmond overnite. Bistro Bobette was recommended . It was a Monday nite, so there was only another table of two. The ambiance was typical for a Bistro. The food was
tasty but underwhelming . I might give it another try as we were told that the chef was on vacation at the time of our visit.
Good food and friendly staffs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Bistro Babette on New Year’s Eve. My husband had the escargot, causellot & crepe. I had an interesting salad, beef medallions, pom frittes & chocolate mousse.
Everything was perfectly prepared & presented. It was a fitting choice to ring in the New Year!
One of the best meals we have had in Richmond. I would highly recommend Bistro Bobette to anyone, with the small disclaimer that it's a bit pricey. My husband and I each ordered different appetizers, desserts, and entrees, and we both loved everything. The duck breast was especially amazing.
Amazing service and amazing food!
We chose Bobette because of the ratings and the location, we were pleasantly surprised at how great the experience turned out. The tuna tartare is probably the best I have had and the steak frites (which was the Wednesday night special) was terrific, comparable to any I have had in Montreal or the Left Bank. Wife had the beet salad and organic salmon which she said was delicious. We paired the meal with a very nice $42 French sauterne which was delightful. Service was excellent, Richard was very professional and efficient and personable. Loved this place!
For the second year in a row, we had a superb Christmas Day evening dinner at Bistro Bobette! The food and wine were exceptional. The service was great and friendly, including a visit to the table from the vivacious owner. We always enjoy dining here throughout the year. However, this is now our favored Christmas Day dining tradition. Thank you to all at Bistro Bobette!
Always love Bistro Bobette!!! It was the perfect spot for a Christmas Eve dinner after enjoying the lights at the James Center. Staff is wonderful and food is amazing!
The food was fantastic, the service pleasant and attentive without smothering. Our tab was a bit more than we expected, some items priced a bit high ($16 soup comes to mind) and that newly raised Richmond meals and alcohol tax was like adding another expensive entre' to our bill. I'm confident we won't become regulars but can say we had the experience, and enjoyed some uncommon fare in a relaxing downtown environment.
Been here before... This time was different. Might have been the holidays as they ran out of several (at least three) things that I ordered. Very disappointing. Ruined the romantic mood... Especially when I am spending so much for a meal. Might have to find a replacement restaurant for future romantic dinners.
And... Put fresh candles on the table! Two ran out of oil during the meal! Don't be so cheap!
Having thoroughly enjoyed dining at Bobette several years ago, I was curious as to whether this experience would live up to the previous. It did not disappoint. As it is a bistro, the menu is somewhat limited, but the service, food, and ambiance were as excellent as I remembered. I have recommended Bobette to several friends who have had equally satisfying experiences. It's definitely a place to put on your "give it a try" list!
Fabulous experience as always delicious and presentation perfect
The waiter made several comments regarding how late the night was as well as denied us appetizers before we could decide our main course. Something about “kitchen rules”?
We had a great server. The food was well prepared, definite French! Portions are quite reasonable.
I go quite often and it is one of RIC best places and a great wine list
Food was good but the garlic is overpowering. Love the restaurant. The veal dish had one small piece of veal and almost all vegetable.
My friend and I were visiting Richmond from Washington, DC. One night my friend chose a restaurant and one night I did. I loved my choice. Quiet intimate tables and our waiter was friendly, warm and helpful.
We shared the rib eye steak, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had the chocolate mousse with chantry cream for dessert. Smooth, delicious and just the right amount of chantilly cream. We left feeling quite sublime. Thank you for creating such a lovely space for people to dine and converse. No TV set blaring
What a gem! We felt as though we were in Paris again. Seeing a menu with pot-au-feu, rabbit and many other French bistro staples was wonderful on a cold December night. The cocktails were outstanding and the wine list is extensive. There were also daily specials for soup/salad and entrees. The desserts we saw go by looked amazing. We didn't order dessert, only because we had already reached our limit. We look forward to a return visit the next time we are in Richmond.
The lighting is probably billed as 'soft;' we would say dim. We had to use our phone to read the menu. A small price to pay for a delightful evening.
Lovely restaurant. The food preparation was heavy handed and the wait staff was inattentive.
Always an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff and well executed non-fussy casual French cuisine.
Had pheasant ravioli and my date stuffed calamari. OMG! Awesome.
Organic salmon, duck breast both cooked perfectly. BTW, get the house made fries, best we have ever had.
Chocolate mousse, the real deal.
Fantastic French cuisine and a bartender who really knows their mixology (try the Bobette or the excellent French Blonde). The cassoulet was superb. The only place I've found in the US where there were 2 Cab Franc Loire red's to choose from!
Lovely experience. Excellent service but even better food.
Escargot as good as in France and actually better value.
Low key sophisticated atmosphere.
Best grass fed rib eye ever! Perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Extensive wine list.
Can’t wait to return.
