What Insiders Are Saying
Bistro Barbes is a Park Hill gem, Perfect For a fancy date night or special occasion.
The food was exceptional and service attentive but not overbearing.
Dissapointing food. Condescending waiter. Medium rare steak was very rare. Medium rare salmon was so rare it could not be enjoyed. Some of the vegetables were tasty and the wine was good, but overall, nothing i would go back for or recommend to anyone. Shame. I was there 2 years ago and really enjoyed my meal.
Amazing meal and fantastic service. We will definitely be back again soon
Amazing service and delicious food in a great little park hill hidden gem! Can't wait to go back!
Good food and service!
Everything about the meal was fabulous. The food was delicious and the service was top notch, just a great evening. We will definitely be back.
Delicious French meal prepared in a visible kitchen. If you see the upside down apple cake on the desert menu, do yourself a favor and get it.
I forget about this little gem in our neighborhood and realized I don't come here enough.
I have always loved their food and menu options. It's a great place for a special occasion, romantic evening or catching up with a friend. It's a win win regardless and I highly recommend!
What a great find! Everything was tasty and quite affordable compared to some of the other French options in Denver. Definitely have the mussels!
Bistro Barbes is a jewel! Every dish was prepared and served beautifully, from the pear salad to the duck to the salmon to the bread.
The desserts were exquisite. Our server was attentive and lovely.
We are glad to discover Bistro Barbes, and we’ll be back for sure.
There are 3-5 of us that have Birthdays within the same week, and this place was great for all three of us to eat the cousine we like. Excellent restaurant, you cannot miss!
So impressed with Bistro Barbes. We weren’t sure what to expect... the outside of the building is very non-descript and not particularly inviting. But our first impression was a deceptive one. Once inside, we were charmed by the quiet simplicity of the place. Considering how small the restaurant is, the tables are spaced at a thoughtful distance from one another — it is cozy, not cramped. Service is spot on. Our server was informative and attentive, never obtrusive. Everything we ate was as beautiful as it was tasty. Our favorite bites were the warmly herbed and spiced farro salad, the steak accompanied by rich & creamy aligot (think elegant cheesy mashed potatoes), and duck leg confit with crazy good saffron rice. Bistro Barbes is a lovely place.
Excellent food and fantastic service! The cocktails were creative and delicious!
Love BB! The owner is spectacular and the food is delish!!!
Unassuming little venue in what looks like an old converted garage, parked right in the middle of an old neighborhood. Staff is super-friendly when they greet you, service is ok. My duck was a little dry but flavorful. Their bread is really good and decent wine selection. The place got really warm the night we were dining in late October which made it slightly uncomfortable.
This is a great restaurant off the beaten path. The food and service were excellent.
Sometimes I never get beyond the appetizers because there are so many wonderful flavors to try. The menu is seasonal, varied and never fails to offer new combinations and favorite French/North African spices. The service is friendly, relaxed and personal. This is a wonderful spot for a relaxed meal at the end of a weekday or a long week.
First time here. wonderful food and service. will definitly go back.
Bistro Barbes is a rare find. The menu is original and everything we ate was delicious with one exception: the palisades peaches in the dessert option were not at their prime, but I should have known that before ordering it in October. One of us has MS and is in a wheelchair and was easily accommodated at the table by the front door. This person also uses a speaker to amplify his voice. My husband is hard-of-hearing but the ambiance of the restaurant is quiet, so the two individuals were able to communicate quite well as a result. We loved the signature cocktails! And the wines by the glass, chenin blanc for me, were wonderful. Everyone on the staff was kind and considerate. We had to remind our server to bring our cocktails, but that was no big deal.
Outstandingly fine dining in a surprisingly quiet out-of-the-way location. Small, intimate dining area, excellent food & service. We WILL be back!
The food at Bistro Barbes was among the most creative I've experienced in recent years. Every dish was delicious with so many tastes involved. I would recommend this spot to anyone who loves well-crafted, and creative dishes. You won't be sorry for indulging in this special treat.
Fantastic food! Great vibe!! Will look forward to returning. When busy, service is a bit leisurely.
What a find! A quiet, intimate setting, a creative and tasty menu, and the best service ever Knowledgeable, respectful wait-staff treat you like royalty! Seasonal menu, soothing ambiance, We'll be back!
We have been to Bistro Barbes' twice now. The menu changed and this one was as fabulous as the last one! Loved it and will definitely go back. Karen R
A real neighborhood gem. Creative cooking and wonderful service.
Bistro Barbes is truly a wonderful restaurant. It is a hidden gem in the heart of Park Hill serving up delicious and diverse flavours with friendly service and a romantic ambiance. We have been delighted with the food and service every time we have visited. I highly recommend this wonderful Park Hill treasure.
The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding. The menu at first seemed a bit limited, but everything we had was absolutely delicious and unique. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Simple yet elegant food prepared with passion. Absolutely Delicious food, attentive, knowledgeable and efficient staff. Perfect experience from beginning to end.
We love BB. Gotta say, though, the Palisade peaches dessert was not up to their standards, at least not that night (mushy/flavorless). The meal and service were otherwise excellent, as usual. This is easily one of the best restaurants in Denver, and we're thrilled to have them here in Park Hill.
Food and service were great. Dessert was out of this world, I resisted the urge to lick the plate!
What a gem in an old neighborhood! Super cute spot, excellent food and service!!! LOVE this place and will definitely be back!
Inspired menu, beautiful presentation, great service, small but nice wine list. This is named one of Collorado’s Best restaurants and I see why.
The food was excellent, cocktails were pefect and the service was outstanding!
I went here on a date to celebrate an anniversary, and we had a great time! The staff was friendly and helpful while not being overbearing. The food was delicious and each course complemented and built off the previous courses. Well-cooked and excellent taste.
The food and service are top notch! They were so accommodating with our party of 16. Every single person said they loved their food! Definitely visit this neighborhood gem!!
We had an excellent dinner. We’ll be back. Keep up the good work.
This is a sophisticated, unpretentious place with a clear-eyed menu. Service was personal and attentive. Preparations were perfect and not fussy. The cocktail menu is short and simple, so if you like a lengthy list of various kinds of 'tini this is not that kind of place. It is not cheap but you get value for your money. Heartily recommended.
My husband and I had heard about Bistro Barbes, but had not had a chance to visit. We went for our anniversary and were very pleased with our experience. We each had a salad and an entree. The chef's preparations were quite pleasing - lots of texture, flavor, color, presentation for our choices. While the menu is limited - 4 entree choices, that was enough for us to choose from. This is quite a find.
Outstanding service, delicious food, interesting and well-designed menu.
Best restaurant in Denver by far! I always dine here when I come to Denver!!
