An eclectic & global diversified menu highlights Bistro B & Wine Bar’s menu here in Kernersville, located in the "Heart of the Triad" of North Carolina. Tapas & Mezze are featured in the menu & include plated entrees & starters. Our menu features flavors from Spain, Greece & France and also intertwines flavors from South America including Venezuela to Argentina. Chef/Proprietor Timothy A. Bocholis has paid his dues in the industry, working with 4 "James Beard Award Winning Chefs", Bob Kinkead in Washington, D.C., Douglas Rodriquez, in Miami, back to D.C. with acclaimed Chef Jose Andres from Barcelona,Spain, & Charlie Palmer. Chef Bocholis, a C.I.A. graduated in Hyde Park, NY, has traveled & worked abroad in Madrid & Seville, Spain, Santa Barbara, CA & Isle de Margarita, Venezuela. On August 10, 2018, we had a reservation for 3 at 7pm. When we arrived, no one greeted us. After several minutes, a woman (the owner?), came to ask if we were there for the paella night or the regular menu, then after glancing at my husband and mother-in-law, who are African American, added that the paella night would be $45 per person, insinuating that it would be out of our price range. We told her that we were planning on the regular menu. She waved us out and told us to have a seat outside. She didn’t direct us to a table, no choice of inside or out, didn’t give us menus, and left. We sat at a table, and waited as 2 servers walked by multiple times, and checked on tables around us without speaking to us. 15 minutes after we arrived, I went in to see if I could find someone to give us menus. After standing up at the front by the door for another several minutes without being spoken to, I was able to catch the eye of the “owner”. I told her that I was coming in to see if we could get some menus, and to make sure that someone knew we were still out there. She picked up some menus, and as she started out the door, told me that we would “have to be patient tonight because they were very busy inside”. I said that we were glad to be patient, but waiting 15 minutes for a menu, without being spoken to was excessive. When she again looked at my husband and mother-in-law who were waiting at the table, her tone shifted, and she said “You know, tonight is not going to be a good night to dine with us, you should go elsewhere”. I replied that we had a reservation, we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and had already been waiting, we just wanted menus, but she repeated that tonight wasn’t a good night for us to be there, and they were very busy. My mother-in-law told her that she felt she had been very rude to us, to which the woman waved us off. They weren’t overbooked, there were 2 empty tables outside, and the servers found time to check up on other tables.

Very enjoyable, creative menu. We loved the small plates, there were so many that we wanted to try. We enjoyed the shrimp, mushrooms, poblano pepper and spinach. Service was attentive and server was well informed about the menu. We had a great experience and will definitely return.

Ordered a suggested special by the waiter not on the menu. He said it would take 20 to make. We had soup and 30 minutes later my companion got her entree and I did not receive mine. After an additional 15 minutes, I questioned the waiter who said it was not his responsibility. The floor manager came by and also took no responsibility. I have enjoyed this nice resteraunt previously. But this was beyond appropriate. A simple apology and someone taking responsibility would have made everything ok. Will never return.

My husband and I have dined at Bistro B on several occasions. Our last experience was extremely disappointing. We waited 51 minutes before we received our cold salad appetizers. We were not checked on by our server and finally had to ask for our check. We left without eating an entree.

We love Bistro B - creative and delicious food from a talented chef. However, the inconsistency of the experience is annoying. We ate there on a Thursday not too long ago and everything was absolutely marvelous. However, this last visit was on a Friday and there were not enough servers, even though they were not full. We observed our server having to bartend, bus tables as well as attend to his diners. He literally was pulled in all directions, contributing to delaying our wine to the point we had to ask for it from the person who delivered our bread (which was also late). Our entrees also took an unneceessarily long time, and we were not told until they were nearly ready to be delivered that one selection was not available. Then a wine refill and a dessert took forever. We literally had to calm down one of our friends who was so put out by it all.
We do not blame our server - we have noticed that Bistro B has been plagued by management issues for a long time. And we have no fault with the meals - everything is delicious. It just seems that they need to pare down the overwhelming list of menu items both for patrons as well as for preparation issues in the kitchen. And they need to hire enough staff and train & treat them professionally so that we can enjoy a fully pleasant time at what should be one of the best restaurants in the Triad.

We just can not say enough. Food is always excellent and the list of possibilities is endless with the tapas menu. Live music on occasion ( not sure how often ). This last visit, we ate outside and then sat at the bar and enjoyed the music and a glass of wine.

Wonderful restaurant with great ambiance. Love the remodeling. The food was excellent as always. Super wine list. Service was a trifle slow but the waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. Have been here 6-8 times and really enjoy it.

Very very slow service. We waited for 1.5 hours before we got our first tapas plates. Another 1/2 hour for our next tapas plates. Head chef also walked out of the restaurant yelling and cursing on his phone in front of a bunch of customers who were sitting outside. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Chef Tim continues to provide a stunning variety of creative food choices, each done to perfection. You cannot beat the appetizers and tappas, and his duck breast, lamb, scallops, and other entrees are beautifully presented and delicious.
Wait staff sometimes varies in skill, but we had a wonderful one this last visit.
One of our favorite Triad places to eat, particularly after the inside expansion and upgrades.

Took 30 minutes to get our first drink and that set the pace for the whole slow meal. Food was passable, but not particularly good esp for the prices. Restaurant was loud. We went here based on other recommendations and it was like we were at a totally different restaurant.

What a find! A new fav for us. The atmosphere was great, inside or outside seating, dim lights, ample space for cozy or bigger parties. As a wine snob I was happy about the choices of wines, I don't like a wine list that has the same selection as Harris Teeter. We started with the cheese board... excellent, then to a couple of tapas... excellent. For the main course I had the lamb t-bone... wow! After I had cut through the succulent lamb, even though I was in this fine dining atmosphere, I absolutely had to pick the bones up and finish them off. They were just that good. So full of flavor, a nice hint of mint. The chef came out and I had to shake his hand, well done. What I really liked is that this was fine dining and gourmet, but they don't hold back on the amount of food you get. Definitely priced reasonably and wait staff was very nice and knowledgeable too. This was just a night out for the wife and I, we will be back often.

very quiet on a Monday evening. Two menus somewhat confusing. Very attentive waiter but courses came too quickly so I had parts of several courses stacked up. Would try this restaurant again. My companion really enjoyed everything except way too salty french fries.

The food was excellent! But I would never go back unless improvements were made in the service. Fortunately we had plenty of time and enjoyed a long visit with friends. It was 40 minutes before we could flag someone to offer us a drink. And each of our four entrees came out at least 10 minutes apart.

Be aware that dinner prices are considerably higher than lunch menu prices. Overall, their staff works hard to please patrons. Restaurant is cozy and pleasant.

Inventive cuisine and friendly staff - it's one of my new favorite places when on business in the Triad. The great thing is it can be a dress-up place or a casual neighborhood hangout, depending upon what you need it to be.

My experience at Bistro B has for the most part has always been quite good. As with any place you are going to have an occasional blip when either the service of quality of the food takes a hit. I believe that Chef Tim is a dedicated chef and works very hard to serve innovative and excellent cuisine. He brings in a great variety of special evenings featuring special items and wines. Always a great experience. I highly recommend Bistro B for those who want a taste of Europe in a very nice restaurant with excellent food. 4 days ago I had the best Snapper I believe I have ever eaten. 5 stars, Chef Tim

Ms. B. and I have been to Bistro B numerous times, and we have usually quite enjoyed our experiences here. However, on this most recent visit, the service was particularly slow, even though the restaurant was not especially crowded. Part of our order — ahi tuna nicoise, soft-shell crab, and a cheese plate — came out in reasonable time, and it was quite wonderful. However, we had also ordered some empanadas, which didn't come and didn't come. Our server assured us they were on the way, but after nearly an hour, when we inquired a third time, we were told they didn't have any prepared. Communicating that to us -much- sooner would have been nice so we could have selected something else. As it was, Ms. B. was left with only the cheese to show for all that waiting. Our server apologized, but it did seem rather too little too late. In the past, I have always rated Bistro B quite highly, but after this experience, we do not have much of an inclination to return anytime soon. This kind of debacle -really- needs to be addressed.

The Chef at Bistro B makes food creations that are flavorful and unique. One of our favorites are the lamb empanadas; they are spectacular! Best empanadas in the U.S. in my opinion (and I travel all over the U.S. for my job). All the dishes are great; we love to go and order several small plates and sample a variety of flavors and foods. We tried the Cauliflower this visit for the first time and it was so good also. I highly recommend Bistro B.

Great tapas at Bistro B. The menu is a bit shorter/simpler than it was previously, but still plenty of great choices....but we did miss the guacamole! Wine menu continues to be interesting, with great choices from Spain and Portugal - perfect to complement tapas.

Food was exceptional - who knew you could get phenomenal tapas in North Carolina? Papas bravas, yucca, and calamari were my favorites. The staff seemed very busy and we had to wave them down a couple times, but we weren't in a rush and they were all gracious and pleasant. A great way to celebrate my graduation from Wake without being surrounded by other graduates.

My wife and I are here for our anniversary last week. We tried a number of the small plate options and were really impressed with the quality and overall value. The carpaccio was our favorite small plate of the night. But the scallops were divine and the lobster crab-tini cocktail was outstanding. We will definitely be back. A true gem tucked away in downtown Kernersville.

First time trying the Bistro B. Tucked away in downtown Kernersville, it was a quaint place with not a lot of fanfare but nice ambiance. Pretty good selection on both appetizers and main courses with a wide selection of flavors. Wife had the scallops and I had the blackened steak. Both were excellent, full of flavor and cooked just right. The portion sizes were just right too, not leaving one to eat out of obligation to a high price. However, with smaller portions I was slightly disappointed that the process were a little high. That said, it was a nice place to visit and have a relaxing dinner with my spouse. Will likely do so again in the future.
