Linda greeted us warmly at the door. Our server (another Linda) was prompt, pleasant, extremely knowledgeable, and enthusiastic.
The steak, salmon, and risotto were all prepared and presented perfectly.
Visited here on vacation. We’re looking for a nice romantic dinner. Although our waiter was nice and the food okay, the ambiance had much to be desired. Our table was sticky, everyone was dressed in jeans, and it was very dark in the area in which we were seated. Not at all what we had anticipated based upon other reviews.
We attended for date and conversation, the crowd and noise level were more than we preferred, however, given the time (Fri eve'g), season (fall foliage), and location (Stowe), not much could be done about either, without spending an exorbitant amount elsewhere. My personal opinion was it was an overall pleasant experience (crowd & noise not withstanding) but others in our party (of 3), ... not so much.
Wonderful new dish added! Risotto was fantastic!
Service from Linda was amazing and the wine was great!
Excellent food, only complaint is dessert panna cotta was too dense. Highly recommend it
Really wonderful place for a quite meal with friends and family. We arrived a little early and were able to sit and enjoy a drink in front of the log fire. The Pork Shank was the choice of the majority and this was extremely well prepared fall of the bone a truly succulent. I had the portabello mushroom dish with ratatouille ad this was also a very flavor full dish knowing full well that my wife would be sharing part of her pork shank. A very enjoyable meal and I would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a quieter place to have an excellent meal and conversation.
Went to the Bistro this past Saturday night while visiting Stowe with a friend. The ambiance is very nice. My duck confit was delicious . My salad was overdressed which is often a complaint of mine but typically at a fine dining restaurant such as this I don't have to ask for dressing on the side as I forgot to. The thing that struck both my friend and I however was how completely uninterested our waiter was. He would just kind of come by and put the food on our table and take of. Again for the caliber of the food and price point of the restaurant a very disinterested waiter. Overall I would still recommend it though and would try it again.
The food and service are outstanding. The Bistro at Ten Acres is one of our favorite places.
Went to Tyne Bistro after looking at the menu
Annual stay in Stowe for 3 couples and we are return patrons who thoroughly enjoyed all the food. We selected a variety of menu items and all were happy with our dishes. The cuisine is creative, featuring seasonal and local vegetables and nice presentation. A fine wine list. We thought our waiter lacked enthusiasm and engagement compared to the delightful service we experienced last year...one reason we wanted to go back. Looking forward to returning again.
Loved the atmosphere. Authentic great food and drinks. Would recommend it for any occasion.
Charming restaurant. Excellent service. Limited but satisfying menu. Our party of four enjoyed their sirloin steak with frites, duck, pork shank and seafood risotto. All very tasty. Park shank was huge! Truffle oil frites were outstanding. Homemade bread and fresh greens salad were very tasty. Dessert menu looked sumptuous -- but we were all too full to consider. Next time. Will definitely drive the requisite hour plus to get there from our vacation home.
THE BISTRO AT TEN ACRES IS FABULOUS! My husband and I enjoyed the very best meal we had in VT and there are many great restaurants. We had the best waitress, Linda...she was friendly, fun and so knowledgeable about the food, You would think that she cooked it herself. She knew details that we appreciated to know. She suggested the greatest appetizers, meals and dessert. From our handmade marggherita's to the homemade bread before dinner and all the food and dessert including the coffee was seriously the best. We had dinner on Thursday night which included live music...Awesome! Our very best to the owners who we met and were so personable that they may continue this FABULOUS restaurant and the fine creations of the chef and staff. We couldn't imagine VT without THE BISTRO AT TEN ACRES!
Abundant quantity of food. Hit and miss sauces. Friendly server, pleasant surroundings.
The food was excellent and imaginative and the view was spectacular. As big city residents we were especially delighted by the extreme quiet of the area. We would definitely recommend it to anyone and if we are fortunate enough to return to the area we will definitely return. A real gem.
We sat on the terrace on a beautiful September evening and had a wonderful view of the Green Mountains and the cows in a pasture across the way. The food was quite good; I had the lobster entree and my husband had the seafood risotto. We enjoyed both immensely. Our server was excellent and knew just when to disappear and when to be there to help. We did not know this restaurant very well before this meal, even though we are second-homeowners in Stowe and spend almost half the year here. We were there with friends, who also thought it was great. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely evening. Food was very good. My husband loved the chicken caprese.
The view is beautiful! It is pure Vermont. The restaurant was warm and welcoming.
Welcoming and comfortable. Friendly staff. Interesting menu. Food presented in an attractive manner. Something for everyone. Lovely old building.
Every year the bistro has had great food with outstanding service.
Pleasant and friendly but for me the food did not live up to the hype or expectations.
Just a wonderful evening with great food and service with friends
We have always enjoyed this Bistro. On this occasion they disappointed. The main courses were slow to arrive and 2 of the meals were under cooked. When pointed out to the manager he graciously gave us complimentary dessert and did not charge for the poorly served meals. We will certainly return and assume this was a one off. Kudos to the Bistro manager.
Very nice restaurant with a husband and wife team. Great food! Great service! Very welcoming
This is our second time at the Bistro, and it was just as good as last year. The main courses (pan seared lobster and braised pork shank) were excellent, and the fresh pineapple salad was quite unusual and very good. Server was pleasant and attentive although the pacing was perhaps slightly slow. We will definitely go back again.
Service was extremely fast & attention to detail was spot on. Will highly recommend.
Wonderful evening. Great service and absolutely amazing food.
Place is nice and cozy, service was excellent. As for the food, it seem too ellaborate but the ingredients did not match well together. We were five and not one plate was something that you would like to repeat.
Fabulous meal...gorgeous views from the patio on a perfect summer evening. Can't wait to sit here during foliage!! The garden is beautiful. Highly recommend!
Great service wonderful food.
Went for 55 anniversary dinner. Room small, tables close, had to share everyone else's conversation. Room was also stuffy/warm. Beer (draft) served warm. Dinner all right but for price, expected more. Not on our return to list and we live in Vermont.
My crab fritters & watermelon salad was creative, tasty & filling. Chicken Caprese was also yummy. The marinara sauce had tomato pieces and the chicken was cooked to my liking.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner! The pineapple salad was excellent! Everything was wonderful
Excellent Service. Great food menu. Tasty cusine. Good wine selection.
Tried this restaurant based on yelps ! Unfortunately didn't enjoy the dinner. Food was well presented but lacked flavor and dry. Tried the pork shank, steak & fries and lobster. Service was on point.
Had been meaning to try the Bistro at Ten Acres for the past few years that we have been visiting Stowe. We look vid everything about it! My husband and I enjoyed creative seasonal pre dinner cocktails. The wine list was excellent too. Many items on the menu were locally sourced. Our 2 children were offered the options of a children's menu (typical kid foods) or sharing an entree from the adult menu- they enjoyed seafood risotto! All of the food was fabulous. This will be one of our regular spots from now on.
Another great meal at The Bistro at Ten Acres.
I had the braised pork shank and my wife had the Chicken Caprise. Both meals were wonderful. We sat outside and had a view overlooking a cow pasture and the mountains. It was fantastic.
Seafood options were delicious.
We love the Bistro at Ten Acrez. Lindaand Mark are wonderful hosts and the food is amazingbut unpretentious. We will always visit the Bistro when we come up to our vacationcobdo in Stowe.
Great service, wonderful menu and wine list, in a beautifully restored old house. It may become our new favorite place for a special meal when we vacation here. My husband and I split a baby spinach and mushroom salad for an appetizer, which was outstanding. I had the seafood risotto, which was equally outstanding, and my husband had the duck. He likes duck cooked rare, so was a bit disappointed that it was closer to well done; but our son had a taste and raved about it. He had the steak frites and pronounced it very good. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu; everything was prepared with super fresh (mostly local) ingredients and with originality. Kudos to the chef! Oh, and, they had just recovered from a power outage as we came in, but you never would have known - service was excellent and attentive. We'll be back!
we have been to 10 Acres Bistro a few times. My husband likes it but I think it is overpriced for the amt of food given and the wine list is far too expensive relative to the menu. We saw some of the meals others ordered and the portions were not much compared to the price. The atmosphere is nice-the music at times was far too loud, and our server did not fit the level of service of the restaurant by calling us and other patrons "you guys" and talking far too loudly to us and others she was serving. There was a large private group at the time we were there and as a result, it slowed the kitchen so we were there almost an hour before our meal came out, thereby setting back other diners who would have had our table before we actually turned over.
The menu is varied but some of the sides served with the main course are not always things that people like to eat.
Overall, I would not choose to return unless some of the menu items are changed but my husband still likes it!!
