Best restaurant in Stowe. Beautiful little restaurant in an old house. Tons of charm, fireplace, consistently good food, wonderful wait staff, and many other pluses.
We were passing through Burlington and saw the good reviews online. It didn’t disappoint! Loved the ambience too.
Really neat dining venue, cozy, guitar player in corner added a lot, food very very good.
We are big fans of TBATA and have eaten there many times over the years. This visit was the first that was disappointing- primarily because of the waiter assigned to our table - the young man was uninterested, gruff, and rushed us. Normally the service is outstanding- we will be back - but hopefully we won’t encounter this waiter again.
Fantastic Menu choice, service and great views on the patio!
Outstanding wine selection by the glass. Quick service and delicious food
Place is nice and service friendly. But my wife ordered steak “medium” and it came out more toward “well done”. My lobster was terrific with polenta, but drenched in butter and very rich, so beware. Bourbon chocolate pecan pie was delicious.
Everything was wonderful. Perfect spot for 2 birthday celebrations! Do celebrate your next occasion at Bistro at 10 Acres, we loved it.
Great dinner with out of town guests.
Dave(bartender) mixed GREAT drinks. Nick our waiter was timely, knowledgeable, and appropriatly conversant. All meals were tastefully prepared.
Four of us dined here and totally enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Three had the lobster special and one had steak. All prepared to perfection. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.
It's been a few years since I last visit, so when when my wife and I were back in town we took the opportunity to stop by for dinner. We were happy to find that the quality of the food hadn't changed. We both were very happy with our main courses and even more so with our dessert. The restaurant is on the expensive side -- but not too bad for a special occasion.
Food was a disappointment.
The service was wonderful, as always. The menu is always interesting. Everyone’s food was delicious. Never disappointed at The Bistro At Ten Acres!
We have watched the Ten Acers mature over the past 45 years. It is now the best it has ever been. Excellent food presented to both outside and inside diners. Beautiful terrace and good seating.
Our first time at the Bistro and we'll come back again. The entire experience was wonderful. Our daughter who studied to be a chef, was very impressed.
Very enjoyable evening out.
Good ambiance, great food
Lovely, romantic place. Wait staff pleasant and attentive. Appetizers and entree very wonderful. Fantastic steak! And perfectly done. Scallops full of balanced flavors. A treat. Unfortunately, desserts a big disappointment.
We live Ten Acres, and being able to sit outside surrounded by their beautiful gardens with a view of the Worcester range of hills on a warm Summers’s evening made the meal even more enjoyable
Our overall experience was disappointing, especially given the positive reviews. We requested an outdoor seat and by the time we got there the temperature had tipped quite a bit. The hostess was very accommodating and moved us inside. Unfortunately we were placed in the back room next to a large loud party. To no fault of the restaurants it was very difficult for us to talk to one another at our table. Our waiter was extremely slow, coming over the table twice to tell us he would be with us in a few minutes. He could’ve just taken a quick drink order in that time. Once he did take our drink order, he asked my husband and I what we wanted and looked at our teenage kids and walked away. Although non-alcoholic, they also order drinks at dinner. The cheeseboard was excellent. Both of our kids had the chicken pot pie for dinner. The presentation was lacking, it did represent dog food. Unfortunately the taste wasn’t much better as the dish was very heavily salted. I ordered the seafood special of the day. The scallops and shrimp were good, the muscles had no flavor and the rice overpowered the seafood. The duck was the most pleasing dish. It had great presentation and was very tasty.
My husband and I were visiting Stowe for the weekend and had dinner at 10 Acres. The view was bucolic, loved watching the cows graze across the street! Our waiter was personable and was a knowledgeable guide about the local beer scene. Our food was great. My husband luved the pork shank. We will return again on our next visit!
I looked at the on line menu and a rack of lamb was listed. When I arrived the menu was different. I had duck confit and it was very over cooked.
We love having dinner one evening when visit Stowe each year. The food is excellent! The last two times we have both gotten the lobster over polenta. Delicious!
Fabulous food and service. A true VT gem. Amazing setting. Worth the $$
Can’t say enough about our wonderful meal. Beautiful outdoor setting, knowledgeable and attentive server and our meal was delicious. Be sure to get the pineapple salad, an amazing combination of pineapple, jicama, tomatoes and sesame vinaigrette dressing. The owner makes her own bread and all her own desserts. Fabulous.
NICE VIEW AND A CORRECT DINNER.
WE WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT, BUT IT WORTH AT LEAST ONE VISIT.
A SPECIAL THANK TO LINDA OUR SERVER.
Homemade pasta, excellent seafood, and impressive wine selection. Chocolate pecan bourbon pie highly recommended.
Wonderful place. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. Our waitress, Linda, was superb. The food was very good and the rather high prices reflected the quality. I’d recommend this for a nice date night. Too pricey to make it our regular haunt.
The dining experience was good. However a few things were disappointing. I had a very good Scotch, which my daughter & I enjoyed. But I could only have one as the Scotch ran out. We each wanted another but my daughter declined. I tried one but it was “peety’ not as smooth.
The Spinach Salad was tasty.
The Fettuccine Carbonara was very dry, sticking to each other, it needed more cream sauce. The breast of chicken was grilled but also dry.
I will try again, as maybe it wasn’t a good night?
The Bistro at Ten Acres has always been willing to work with my very limited diet and accommodate me. Everything I have ever ordered or that has bee ordered by people in my party has been delicious and presented beautifully. They are a tad heavy handed with the salt so if you are watching your sodium intake let them know to go lightly.
Food was delivered delicious as always. Our favorite restaurant for years in Stowe. Service not up to standard although this particular waiter has been with the restaurant for years. Slow and forgetful. Otherwise a good experience just not up to our usual expectations and experience.
Ten acres Bistro used to be one of our favorite places in Stowe.
Unfortunately their chef passed away a couple of years ago and their menu has suffered.
In addition my wife had a serloin steak that was tough.
I talked with the waitress about the change to my dish. She's did not seem to take me seriously however, the owner came over and her attitude was somtimes things just have to change. I did not tell her about my wife's tough steak.
We cancelled our second reservation.
Good food, good friends, in a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed the evening
It couldn't have been slower. We were seated and orderee right away but waited over an hour for our meals.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere is very cozy and rustic. Service was very good and everyone was very friendly.
Went to this restaurant to sit outside. Inside dining is not that great and it was hot. There was a table for two outside but because there was only one outside chair they would not sit us out there??? Is it really that hard to bring a chair from inside out? Disappointed with lack of trying. Beautiful night wasted in an older, hot restaurant. Food was good, wine had bits of cork in it.
It was e excellent......better than we could have imagined
We absolutely love this restaurant! The food and service are always top notch. Whenever we have friends or family visiting, this is where we take them. We have never been disappointed. We love they they are on Open Table too.
Mussels are divine. Pork shank, lobster, seafood enchantment (Artic Char) did not disappoint. Service was outstanding but the ambiance was the best thing about this quaint little place. Sit outside and enjoy the sun setting over the cows in the pasture.
Great ambiance! Awesome food & service. View from patio was perfect.
A wonderful dinner. We were able to sit outside, on a lovely evening. Service from Mikey was just right. The food outstanding.
Our previous visit was 2 years ago, they have not lowered the bar even one millimeter. Fantastic!
