Bistro Albertino Ratings and Reviews
This was my 2nd visit and it was wonderful. We were seated quickly, brought bread with an awesome pesto, Drinks were quickly refilled and the food was very tasty. My boyfriend is not a huge fan of Italian food but took me for my birthday. He is already looking for a reason to go back. The only negative I would give this place is the parking lot. We had to find street parking but other than that, this is a great place to visit and have great food.
We ate at the restaurant Saturday night. We had a 7:30 reservation. It took a long time for us to place our order and we did not get our food until 9:30. We've eaten at this restaurant many times and have always had a good experience. Two of the dinners had small portions which is very unusual. They were extremely crowded and there were large parties. We called over the manager right before our food arrived. He was very nice and apologetic but I feel he should have perhaps comped desert or our appetizer and salad for the extremely long wait. Smaller parties came in after us and got food before us. It was so packed that the heat was at times very uncomfortable. I'm going to chalk it up to a bad night for them and will consider returning for another try since the food and value are very good.
Unfortunately the service was so bad that we will not return. They were out of chicken fingers at 7pm on a Friday so our daughter was out of luck and ended up with the most disgusting ravioli we had ever seen and tasted. She asked for a little bit of butter on it but received a watery soggy mess and the server never returned after our food was brought out. We waited so long that I had to approach the bar to get our check. We were never offered a dessert menu or coffee. I couldn't tell if they were under staffed or we were being overlooked. I ordered the chicken parm which came with pasta. I would have liked a vegetable for both my daughter and myself but the server took our incomplete order and ran. We did not get to ask if a salad was included or to add additional items. This was the worst birthday dinner ever.
This was not our first visit to Bistro Albertino. It's a nice neighborhood BYOB. The food has always been quite good and the service excellent. This time the restaurant was busier than on our other visits. I'm glad for them if their business is picking up but it did seem to affect the service. I will still continue to be a repeat customer.
Great service. Was odd, though, that with nearly empty restaurant when we arrived, we were only able to be seated at one particular table (by the door in ten-degree weather), because other tables were “pre-assigned”.
Parking lot is a disaster to begin with, especially after snowstorm.
Very good food. Will definitely be back, but next time hopefully we can be better accommodated with table request.
We were late fpr our reservation and the resturaunt was nearly empty at 10 pm. The staff seated us and provided rapid service the food was fantastic and the service equally as good. I'm sure the staff was ready to close up but they allowed us to linger over our wine and conversation with an easy patience. One of the most inderrated resturaunts in the area.
We ate here with friends this past Saturday night. I was glad we had a reservation because the restaurant was nearly full when we arrived at 7:00 pm. My husband had the grilled octopus appetizer which he said was delicious. We all enjoyed our entrees (salmon, chilean sea bass, steak) and the service was great. The only thing we were disappointed in was that some in our party wanted to try the butternut squash ravioli and they were out of it. I guess that means it was very good, but it surprised me a little that they were out of a special at 7:00 on a Saturday night. We will be back!
This was the second time here. The first time the food was very good and we thought it was definitely worth another try. This time my food (the four cheese tortolonie) was very good but my wife got a pasta special with scallops and it was horrible! the scallops were absolutely tasteless and the past wasn't much better. She sent it back and decided she didn't want anything else. The waiter was very sorry about this and did not charge us for the dish which was the right thing to do.
We will surely give them another try, hoping it was just one bad dish.
We've eaten at Bistro Albertino a number of times. This past Saturday night was the best yet. The food was delicious, especially the grilled romaine salad and the branzino special. My wife's chicken parm, especially the sauce, was also really good. Our servers were excellent, and all were incredibly nice.
I don't understand why waitstaff at other restaurants can't figure out how being nice to customers really adds to the dining experience. Bistro Albertino gets it. Their waitstaff are all professional and always nice.
