Glad to have them back. Good job all around!
Food was delicious!!!!! The short rib grill cheese and quiche were both amazing! Can’t wait to go back!
Was excited to try since the reopen and it was disappointing. No real new menu items and the food was just lackluster. The baked Brie was good but why put jam on top and make it soggy? The short rib my hubby had tasted like I could have made it in the crockpot and the carrots were underdone. The lighting is odd and is very bright for a romantic place on Valentine’s Day. Loved it throughout the years but it’s been on a downward spiral since all the changes. Won’t be back. :(
Great dinner !! Amazing service !!!!
Banana crepes were delicious!!!
So happy to see they've re-opened after hurricane Irma, just as good as ever. Their new Sister restaurant Cowford Chophouse could learn from them about friendly service and accommodating customers while maintaining an upscale culinary experience. I wanted to impress my client who is looking to bring 700 police chaplains to town and the restaurant was exactly what he and I were looking for.
Food, service, and experience were amazing. Will definitely visit again.
I must admit that I've always been a HUGE fan of Bistro Aix, and counted it as one of my favorite Jacksonville restaurants. Unfortunately, I'm extremely disappointed by my visit after its re-launch last week. The warm, dark, glam ambiance is gone in favor of more senior-friendly cold overhead fluorescent bulb lighting. The blonde chairs and blonde floor wash out the room, and it's louder than ever. The food was well cooked (the menu has barely changed by the way), but the presentation was uninspired and dessert was a chocolate glob. The wine list is not nearly as well structured as it was -- and they're already running out of several bottles. I really hope these early missteps are all related to the re-launch (and not indicative of the "new" Bistro Aix), and will be corrected soon. I so hoped this would be a chance for Bistro Aix to reinvent itself, and it has - only for the worse. I'll be watching to see if they improve. But, I'm in no hurry to return -- and I never thought I would type that about Bistro Aix.
Table was ready 40 minutes after the reservation time. Ordered the fillet medium and it came out rare. Sent it back, came out medium rare. No attempt to remedy other than asking if we wanted the same steak thrown on the grill for a third time.
Glad that they are open again. The a/c was to cold
It's an amazing place to revisit. We have been patronizing this place for years and its so good to come 'back home'
Food and service top notch as always. So of course we'll be back.
Web site still shows them closed. Server was extremely friendly, but service was very slow. Slow enough that we asked for more bread waiting on our appetizer. We have been here before the flood three times and had exceptional service. Food was bland- had chicken and steak. Beet salad was good. Drinks took forever. We were there at 545 pm on Saturday. Heard lots of staff telling others they were new to the business. I'm sure it will get better again. Did not help my $155+ meal cost with tip.
The restaurant has just reopened after repairs from hurricane season. They have done a great job remodeling the establishment. The food was excellent. If you like beets like I do, the beet salad is a must. It is prepared unlike any that I had had before. We both had the lamb. a knife was not necessary. The wine list has enough to cover about any taste without extortionate prices. It is located close the the Jacksonville theaters and it opens early enough for a relaxed meal and a trip to the show. Highly recommended.
Went for sons 30 th birthday took over an hour for appetizers after numerical request. 3 to be exact. Told appetizers would be complimentary and a drink for my son. Charged for both. Frequent customer but not sure will return. Awful way to reopen and treat a customer who has visited all amazing forks restaurants weekly.
Disappointed. Dr Gari
Drink service was incredibly slow. Short rib was over cooked and pizza didn’t taste quite as good as past. I love bistro though and think it was just from being day 2 of being open again. Will be back!
We have dined at Bistro Aix over the past ten years. The food has always been consistent in its value, quality and ambiance. This last visit however was a bit off. The simplest of things , beet salad, was less than desired. However, my husband ordered the tuna, which has always been a staple on the menu, and it was fantastic! So, the take away is this, the devil is in the details! you put a heirloom beet salad on the menu, wash the kale it sits upon! No one likes a gritty salad!
Great dinner always top notch
Great to get back on their reopening night. Right back on point Kate was the best server, had a good time with her taking care of our table.
So excited to be a part of the re-opening of Bistro AIX! I was prepared for minor errors, but there really were none. We had soups, entree’s, drinks and shared a dessert. The service at Bistro is unparalleled. The chefs are creative. The food is fresh and sourced from local farms as much as possible.
The new looks suits the environment and it has a very “Gothic modern” feel. Chic and perfect for date night! Worth every penny!
Ratings based on our prior experience. Restaurant currently closed after hurricane and couldn't officially cancel reservation. Went to sister Italian restauant instead.
