   I had the fish special. It was very small, very overcooked very greasy and very salty. I was very disappointed. But I didn’t complain because it was really busy at about 8 o’clock at night on a Saturday but honestly, if it wasn’t that busy I would’ve sent my food back.

   Menu missing ingredient for the appetizer and salad I wanted. Pasta Fagioli was thick and not soupy at all. Bartenders were ok.

   The food was delicious, service great. Prices high but we expected that with the quality. The tables were rather close together and therefore very loud. There were also two very loud parties during our dining experience. One woman yelling “Go Jags” as she left and additional guests yelling DUVAL. There was another group of ladies celebrating a birthday right next to us that were rather rowdy as well. Overall it was a low volume night so I believe they could have been sat elsewhere so they didn’t disrupt other tables. Overall though, the dishes were delicious as well as the drinks.

    We went with friends to celebrate New Year’s Eve at Bistro Aix. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding!!! It was a bit pricey but so worth it if you are looking for a great restaurant to splurge at. Short ribs and steak frites were exceptional!

    Really tried hard – service was excellent, some dishes were good, but most were only good if you have a major salt deficiency.

    Great NYE meal. Probably the best swordfish I’ve had at a restaurant and I’m a fish snob (I catch my own). It was unbelievably fresh and cooked to perfection. Calamari and shrimp app was a little too salty but tasty nonetheless. Apple tart was superb. Excellent service as always.

    Absolutely delicious! We particularly enjoyed the shrimp and calamari. The crab cakes were almost entirely crab meat. We had a limited holiday menu but everything we tried was on point and pricing was reasonable for the level of food and service.

    My husband and I are pretty picky with the places we choose to eat. It’s been years since the last time we went to Bistro Aix but they did not disappoint. The ambiance was lovely and romantic and our service was wonderful. Caleb was our waiter and he kept us entertained as well as full in great recommendations. I think we will bring this one back into our rotation for date night!

    Restaurant did a good job fooling my wife and I by arriving and presenting a ‘limited Christmas Menu.’ Really? We had no idea. Had we known, we would NEVER had planned on spending our evening here. Oh, and a tad overpriced on the limited menu items. This was a very overpriced entree selections I have experienced in a long time. We had been here over a year ago - and this is not in our future ever. This was a money grab menu - sorry but true. You should have stipulated the limited selection and your ‘holiday pricing’ for your customers.

    I usually rave about the food at Bistro Aix but I have to say our dinner on Christmas Eve was good but not worth the price. The bread was very disappointing and I felt that the portions were a little on the small side. The service was absolutely stellar.

    I usually don't write reviews but knowing what used to be the Bistro, I had to. Bistro was bought out in 2020 and it seems to have been downhill ever since. Bistro AIX needs to really reflect on its self label of "fine dining" as we experienced nothing close to it. Service was absent, as our waiter would disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time. Other tables in the section experienced this poor service. Other waiters had to fill in for their section. It was not understaffed at all. Ordered the calamari; it was cold, no flavor, and barely breaded; better can be found in the frozen section of Publix with a dash of seasoning. Main mea; after a long 30-40 minute wait and asking about it; ordered medium well steak; got rare, ordered the slow cooked chicken; meal was cold as it had been sitting. For the first time in a long time, we sent meals back; steak returned beyond well; chicken was burnt. Both meals were nothing to write home about. Got a "free" dessert due to a bad dinner... Value: Poor like other reviews, save your money, go somewhere else for better service or just cook at home. Hopefully Bistro AIX will look at what it used to be and make changes to deserve the label of fine dining.

    Service was sub par. Waitress kept asking if I wanted another drink when I had not even made a dent in the first one. Dirty dishes stayed on the table for a long time. Had to ask for silverware. Had to ask for bread. Bused had low energy and didn’t seem to want to be there. The place wasn’t busy but the hostess and manager were talking a lot at the front while our table clearly needed attention. We were right next to the front. The wedge salad was drowning in dressing. A sad drop from Bistro Aix’s glory days. I will never go back

    I've been coming to Bistro AIX for years, but this was absolutely the worst meal ever had there. Most in our party were not satisfied with their meal, the service was extremely slow and it was insulting to have almost a $200 bill. It was hard to determine whether this was a result of understaffing, too many patrons or a combination of both. The Jacksonville restaurant scene desperately needs more quality, non-chain restaurants and generally I had thought Bistro AIX was a reasonable choice. Not anymore!

    First time here and thoroughly happy with the evening. The ambience is relaxed sophistication. The food was outstanding, the clientele dress upscale - people were there for a nice evening. We will recommend Bistro Aix to friends and return soon!

    Waiter- very good Barata salad very good Fish special with risotto- fish was VERY overcooked, so it was very dry and they compensated by drizzling it with oil. Risotto very overcooked and just like a mush. Carrots were good. Crème Brûlée- very shallow therefore it was also overcooked and stuck to the bottom of the dish. Good crust and fresh berries. Martini- ok- 1 small olive in a dirty vodka martini??? Noisy environment and this restaurant puts a 20 hold on your credit card to make a reservation! You need to give at least 24 hours notice if you have to cancel. It was so good the last time we went… this time NOT so good. We left disappointed and with a heft bill. Not sure if we will go again.

    Thanksgiving Day spent at Bistro Aix, they had a Thanksgiving Menu including Turkey and sides, but went with the Short Ribs, excellent choice. Best food, best service

    The food was fantastic. However, portion sizes were a bit smaller than other restaurants of this caliber. The service was very good and our glasses never remained empty. The ambience was elegant and quiet. Great place for date night.

    It was my first time dining here. I have always heard rave reviews about their food and they didn't disappoint. I most definitely plan on going back. I ordered the braised short rib and it was excellent. The ambiance makes a great place for date night!

    Wait staff very poor. Nearly 40 minutes between completion of appetizer and entree to be delivered and waitress seemed oblivious. Never checked in to provide update for delay of entrees or to ask if she could get us anything. She also seemed put out when I asked for the check after the entrees were completed. There are better places to spend your money…

    Lack of service, the constant apologies, sorry we are so busy, sorry we are out of that, sorry, sorry!! 7:30 dinner reservation and so many sorties. Get it together because there are too many choices in town.

    Crab cake & scallop dishes were excellent. Mushroom rigatoni was abysmal, infused with an insufferable amount of truffle oil, an ingredient not mentioned on the menu.
