Bistro Aix is a chef owned neighborhood bistro. Purchasing the finest local ingredients from farmers and selecting grower/producer, naturally made wines is what sets us apart. Recently remodeled, Bistro Aix has been serving our community since February of 1996. Our new California Oak burning grill inspires us in our daily changing menu.

Glass atrium patio with 80 years old olive tree, old growth redwood banquettes offers seating of up to 50 people for a private function. Front of the restaurant seats about 45 more, including 12-seat bar and semi-open kitchen. Menu is seasonal and accomodating.

I stay a few days in San Francisco frequently on business. The city is increasingly expensive and impersonal. As a visitor, it is hard to find any sense of community and local culture. Cow Hollow in the Marina District is an exception. There you can find small hotels with free parking, small businesses that remember your name, and a few restaurants with dependably good food and personable staff who care about what they serve. More importantly, very few restaurants seem to care about their staff, so seeing the same greeting and wait staff for 3 years and running suggests that his place is an exception. Based on these criteria, Bistro Aix is at the top of my list. Alone or with friends, they deliver an excellent dining experience.

Hard to imagine a nicer dinner experience. Excellent server, very very good food. Comfortable and pleasing atmosphere. We will return for sure.

We came here for Valentines Day dinner and it didn't disappoint. We got seated immediately and the service was great. The server was knowledgeable on the menu and wine list. He even provided a wine taste before we ordered. The place was pretty crowded but the noise level was not too bad. The waygu steak and charred pork chop were outstanding and the portions were pretty hearty. Prices were moderate and overall the bill was reasonable for what we got. This was one of the better meals that I've had lately.

I’ve been to Bistro close to a dozen times. It’s my go to for an impressive night out specifically in the front room. I did request the corner front table next to the window, but the person who seated us was preparing to take us somewhere else. Even though the table I requested was open. Not sure why. Did he not read my reservation request or not care?

The host felt a little rushed with us, although she was polite.

Food was as usual delicious. We had the mushroom risotto and the ahi.

Still on my list but moving down a slight notch.

I've been here a handful of times, on dates, with family, with kids, with friends. Every time it's been top-notch. And the tarte tatin RULES. :)

Great service... our waiter put up with a lot of distracted people who were in midst of decompressing from 2-day off-site. The crab with chanterelle and angel hair was super tasty, as was the tarte tatin.

We love Bistro Aix. Took out of town guests for this dinner and they really praised thei meal. The food was delicious and it has a cozy ambiance for a cold night. The menu is creative and offers something for everyone. Keep up the great work!

A regular dinner spot when I'm in San Francisco, Bistro Aix is a dependable place for good food, good service, and neighborhood ambiance. The fare changes with the seasons, but they don't make a big deal claiming locavore cred. The seafood is much better than average for SF (already good), the meat is from local sources, and the salads are awesome. I'm still trying to figure out how they do this with just 75 seats and a bar.

Excellent dinner! Staff is very attentive. Each course was outstanding. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation and quite satisfying. As a whole the dinner flowed with nice pace and each part complemented the others.
I highly recommend Bistro Aix for both casual and special occasions.

Great food with a warm and inviting atmosphere.
We came to Bistro Aix for a holiday dinner with coworkers. They sat us out in the back covered patio area which was perfect because we had plenty of space for a party of 12 and it was quieter-so a great place for conversation. They have made the patio very comfortable and warm. Food was excellent, extensive wine list and service attentive but not overbearing. Would recommend to anyone!
