Bistro Aix - SF
Perfect place for a low-key celebration.
Exceptional service from exceptional staff
Always such a fabulous meal.
Awesome experience all around. Food, service and ambiance were all excellent. Highly recommend!
Love this restaurant--great wine list, great food and excellent service.
Food was just ok. Pricy for what it was. Waiter started off excellent but towards the end of the meal he left us sitting with a dessert menu for a long time.
Always appreciate the atmosphere and laid-back convenience of the Bistro.
Recommend the back room at 6pm midweek if you are planning to have a visit, i.e. you miss the crunch. Food and service was great.
The best waitress ever! Did not get her name but she was really funny while maintaining a professional and efficient manner.
The food was very good, prices still reasonable and the back room is really comfortable and pretty.
our go-to neighborhood restaurant. always dependable. always delicious.
Casual but upscale bistro, with modern take on traditional menu (plus some added specials - the artichoke was fabulous and the Sardinian squid ink pasta was a revelation). While the bottle wine list is way over-priced, there are reasonably priced wines by the glass. Service was knowlegeable, friendly and attentive but a bit overwhelmed.
This restaurant is always consistently fabulous and the servers are so intelligent about the menu.
We really need to eat here more often. The food and service are so consistently outstanding ~ we tend to think of Bistro Aix as a “special occasion” restaurant but it is a wonderful neighborhood gem for any occasion.
We were early, so a lot of young children. Rather loud at times. Food and wine were terrific. Service outstanding. Goater to avoid the kiddies.
Bistro Aix is incredibly reliable. Always good.
Had the persimmon salad which was delicious! My brother had the butter salad which he said was tasty but would have appreciated a larger portion. We split a pizza which was good to the last bite. My entree was the sole which was delicious and my bro ordered the chicken which he loved!
New yEars eve
always dependable, good food, great service, right pricing.
very pleasant sitting in the back covered 'patio'.
A great spot for dinner with friends or couples. Food is delicious. Portions are a good size. Good wine list. Friendly servers.
Service was good with friendly staff but the price/quality of the meat could be better.
Bistro Aix is a little bit of a hidden gem, with such a nice seating area in the back. It’s great food for the price as well. I had the scallops with risotto and my boyfriend had the steak frites and both were phenomenal. The scallops and steak were both cooked perfectly. We also found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful.
Overall very impressed and would highly recommend.
Food was delicious, service friendly but kitchen backed up so took a while to get our food but when it did arrive, it was delicious.
Fabulous as always.
Delicious food in a casual chic environment. Always good!
Jonathan has been making amazing affordable cuisine in this restaurant for decades. Never disappointed
Really slow service
the duck confit is very salty but fine for salt lovers. Nice neighborhood restaurant that is popular. We had a nice time and will go back. Reservations are definitely needed.
I was pleasantly surprised being my first visit.
Service was exceptional and food excellent.
It made for a memorable evening.
I’ll be back!
Best neighborhood restaurant! Food is always great as is the service!
Great fresh food with constantly changing menu. Excellent service and nice selection of wines. A neighborhood gem!
We will be back soon
Consistently good food, service and ambiance. This is our family’s go to restaurant.
Warm, friendly, welcoming place, like a true, small Euro bistro with often simple but perfectly prepared dishes. Sit in the front room or at the at; the back room is quieter but without the bustling ambiance. Large, unexpected wine list. We had a special appetizer, the best tuna tartare I've ever had, with house made potato chips. Also the octopus, deliciousbutmay e too many potatoes. halibut meunière style astonishing. Or get a steak fireworks chicken. I've had better squid ink pasta inItaly, but this was still good. (I don't give 5 stars to almost any restaurant. It's grade inflation, and nobody's perfect.)
I am giving this Bistro top marks in most areas because it is a true find in food-forward San Francisco, where many restaurants tout their excellence. This place is a rare find for three reasons: the food, the ambiance, and ALFRED, what a superstar. He made our experience superb. Have already recommended it to friends in SF (I was visiting).
Really wonderful evening, they were so friendly and accommodating and the food and wine were great, will definitely be returning
Consistently great food and service. Excellent value! One of our favorite restaurants in the city.
Our food was a bit too salty and not as good as past visits.
Hadn’t been here fir a long time. Was pleased and surprised at how good the food was. Enjoyed the meal and my friend and I had no problem in hearing each other.
We felt so welcome, and appreciated the good food - some standard dishes and some fresh ideas - perfect selection and all delicious.
This restaurant has easily become one of my favorites. The back room has such great lighting and the food is phenomenal. Service was a bit disjointed as the greeter was preoccupied while guests were waking past us as we were waiting to be seated to our reservation. The server also seemed like they were overwhelmed as the restaurant was fully booked. Although she was very friendly and as attentive as she could
be. The burrata was a hit as well as the steak fries.
