We were there on a Hawaiian night invited by the band singer , seats were occupied in area by the stage so we were seated in the area by the restaurant diners only not seeing the band playing but can hear the music though I requested to be seated near the stage or band players. The reception guy said he doesn’t have reservation confirmation so I showed him the conf. # & he accepted. It took long for a waiter to approach us for orders as the there were a lot of guests. We have to wave on the busy waiter to get our orders. They need more waiters & cook when the place is full as my suggestion. Food are somewhat pricey but satisfied my taste buds. Had sea bass & fried calamari. The mixed wine was like not too strong like no alcohol at all so have to order white zin. I enjoyed dancing with the band’s music that night. If I live closer I would go there just to dance with the good music.
Festive, good food, good band.
Will come again.
Very positive experience.
Father’s Day dinner. My wife, Daughter, Brother & Mother were included. We received excellent service& enjoyed all of our orders. Beautiful environs . I am planning my 50 year high school reunion from Washington High School and will include a visit to Bistro 880 on Sunday 10-6-2019. Sincerely , Dr R Michael Alvarez
French onion soup wasn't. Tasted like a bowl of soy sauce with onions, pizza cheese not parmesan, and soggy croutons trapped under the cheese. Side salads were good, but the lettuce on the burgers was wilted and had brown leaf stems. Band doesn't start 9:00pm.
Took 12 mins to be greeted and asked if we want water
We went to Bistro 880 for Easter brunch. Everything was wonderful! It was beautifully decorated in Easter colors and had displays of Easter bunnies. The food was amazing service was was attentive! I highly recommend attending their brunches!
There was no bartender.
We had a Great Time on are 50th Wedding Anniversary
This place was great. I made reservations for eight then had to change them to 12. No problem. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. We all ended up heading over to listen to the band afterwards. The server was kind enough to get us a table. I think they were celebrating Chinese New Years that night. It was pretty packed. Lots of dancing and people having fun.
I would recommend this place.
Maria is the best waitress in the world. The whole staff is wonderful I wish I would’ve remembered their names.
New Year’s Eve
New Years event well done
Beautiful venue. Food tasted good but was not the correct temperature. Soup & prime rib with sides, served barely warm. The au jus had cold, congealed fat dots on the top of it! Also the appetizers and the main meal was served together as if the meal was being delivered to a hotel room! In restaurants, soup & salad courses are normally served before the main course is delivered. Main course should show up hot, just as the appetizers are close to being consumed. Timing seems to be a really BIG problem for this place. Staff and kitchen obviously don't know how to switch from room service to dining room service. The only thing served hot was a small apple tartlet for desert. Servers were cordial but not clued in to the special pricing for seniors. Our check was full price, and we had to wait to get the manager to change it. Luckily we saw the price error as the tip was automatically added at %18 based on the total. Overcharging is not a nice way to get a larger tip. Had that not happened we would have increased the tip amount on our own accord.
Largely ignored by staff during Thanksgiving dinner. I told the server that it seems nobody wanted to be there and working the shift. She agreed. Worst of all, we were charged for gratuity for really lousy service.
We were practically alone in the restaurant on Thanksgiving. There were three of us and our service dog. I have to say the staff was absolutely great. Rene, our waiter, was so kind to our dog! The food was not great, but we had a great time nonetheless thanks to all the staff persons who were there working on Thanksgiving and doing their very best. Thanks to all!
We took my husband out for his birthday. I had no idea it was connected to a hotel so at first, I was a little disappointed. When we walked in , to my surprise, it was beautiful!! My party of four and a single diner were the only people in the restaurant. I enjoyed the quiet time with my family. The service was great! The food was ok. I had the pan seared chicken which was severely overcooked my family is the type who won't eat unless everyone is eating so I didn't send it back. Everyone else thought their food was good. Even though there were only five diners and it was 5 PM, they were out of several things. All in all, I had a nice meal. I would go back for cocktails but not for dinner.
Their Mother's Day unlimited brunch was awesome. Can't speak about everyday dining, but everyone there at the hotel was friendly. Staff went out of their way to ask the executive chef about peanut-containing deserts and even brought my daughter a plate of dessert she could enjoy (chocolate covered strawberries)! Will be back next year with more people...
The good was delicious, the waiter took great care of us. We do enjoyed our Mother's Day Brunch.
A nice quick dinner out. The burger is a great go to. Haven't brought myself to try the sushi yet though.
Noticed lately that I cannot find Bistro 880 in Open Table directly, but can RSVP via Open Table through the Bistro 880 website. May be losing potential diners as a result.
Enjoyed our meals. Unfortunately bell peppers are blended into some dishes, which is limiting to those who cannot partake. Nice quiet spot for a good meal.
great food, great ambiance , music and staff. my family enjoyed the Easter brunch
Great service! Great food!
I like the service from the waiters/waitresses, they are really friendly and nice when serving or refilling our drinks! Enjoyed the Easter Brunch !!!
We have eaten at Bistro 880 several times. The food has always been good; service has been friendly, prompt and reliable; there is ample parking; and we have never been there when it has been crowded or too noisy to carry on a conversation.
Staff very friendly but not aware of specials or how prepared. Wine list very limited but good value. Found a quiet table to allow us to talk business freely.
This was our first time at Bistro 880 and we were very happy. The portions were generous and reasonable. I had Sea Bass which was excellent. The servers took very good care of us. We will go back for sure.
Everybody was very kind and the service was spot on
Perfect experience. Avonna was an amazing bartender. Sushi so fresh. Great dj.
This restaurant is attached to the DoubleTree Hotel. It's not bad for a hotel restaurant, but be aware that you're going to a hotel restaurant. Looks newly redesigned/renovated. Bar looks like it's probably pretty fun and there are tvs all over the walls. But it's not really a family dinner type of atmosphere/place.
Sounds like a member of their staff went on break unexpectedly, so the food came out slowly and in a weird order, but the waitress and manager were nice and tried their best to explain and deal with the issue. We never got any bread though.
I didn't have the right expectation for this restaurant. The restaurant tried and it was a decent place. Burgers, fish n' chips, etc. type of food seem to be the best deal and are super tasty looking. My grandma got the fish and chips, which was really great! Other food is OK, but slightly pricey.
I met my cousin here as it was central to her home and my hotel in San Jose. First time we'd seen each other in 30 years. We had a quiet and intimate booth in which we could catch up! Great service and the food was pretty good!
Good food, but service is very slow. Very loud when full.
Waitress was attentive. We ordered the fish and chips. While the portion was ample, the fish was near burned and was dry. The bread was also over baked and hard to cut. We paid 30 for a cup of coffee, a salad, and an entree. Pretty pricy for the quality.
We Came here for birthday with reservations, when we mention it to the lady at the front, they don't even know that we have reservations, had to talk to 3 different people about our reservations , seems disorganized about their reservations and finally the manager talk to us , and we request for table by the band , he told us we can't and we have to come early if we want to take that table ( but we have reservations, duhh and no one was sitting there) overall the food was okay, our waitress not bad , but I'm not sure we'll come back here.
Long lines and ok food. Way too expensive for the food options. Cashiers in buffet allowed people they know to skip the long line.
Overall the brunch on Mother's Day was a great value. The food was great, the service was great. The one thing that was most disappointing was when we got there for our 1230 reservation, there was already at least 35-40 people ahead of us in line. The line was to pay before the meal, tax and tip included, before you got seated. This could have gone a lot faster if better organized. We were not seated until 1:00 and I was with someone who could not stand or walk, so this was a bit awkward having to wait in a line for a half hour.
Very good food, the sushi was great and the steak from the 1600 degree broiler was amazing. Airline chicken breast and double cut pork chop were excellent also. The food is worth the trip alone.
Outstanding Easter Brunch. Lots of different kinds of delicious food choices. The bunny walking around visiting the kids and taking pictures with them was a nice touch. I highly recommend it.
Horrible food - salad was brown, salmon came rare, sent back and new one came back with horrible stink smell (old) waitress was very nice, bread was good.
We had been wanting to try this place since the hotel changed to the Doubletree and the restaurant became Bistro 880 so we made reservations for Valentine's dinner. The remodel is modern and comfortable with lots of tv's for bar dining. The tables were set romantically with candlelight and chocolates and live piano music in the background. The price fixed menu had great selections and everything we had was delicious! A great value and a memorable experience!
