Bistro 821 Ratings and Reviews
I was disappointed, visiting area and was on open table and went based off of a 4.6 rating right from the start I knew I was going to be disappointed the bread was not good first sign to a good restaurant
Wife had back ribs they definitely were previously frozen I had paella it was fair at best
We had salads for appetizers they were good
Sorry just my opinion- the staff was good the service was fine. We dined the night before at Ocean Prime right up street and that was fantastic
We visited this restaurant again as each occasion is wonderful. The service was exceptional, the food fantastic and the specials, with the wine included, a real value. We were lucky to get a table on the front patio which was great as this Avenue in Naples is beautiful and the weather perfect. The lights on the street were a real treat. We have been here a number of times and recommend it to our friends. A piece of advice - make reservations because it is a busy spot.
We celebrated our 18th anniversary Monday night at Bistro. It was Happy Hour, so we started at the bar for two for one and discounted appetizers. Russell's 10-year-old bourbon was part of Happy Hour, so I ordered it without asking cost, figuring it would be $14-18, but I would get two. My wife ordered Stoli and tonic. Drinks came and the pours were very generous. We ordered escargot and a crunchy ahi roll, both discounted. When it was time to be seated, the bar bill came and was only $33. My two for one Russells was $9.50. Apps were awesome too. Highly recommend the tuna roll. Dinner was also good and our server was phenomenal. We ordered the pick two option. My wife got sea bass and lobster and liked it but thought the sauce on both was a little rich. I got the crunchy snapper with lobster and wished I had just ordered the full snapper dish. It was tremendous. Our server brought us a nice piece of key lime pie as an anniversary gift on the house. It capped off a great evening at Bistro. For the money, quality, quantity and ambience, one of Naples' best places.
This is the second time we have eaten at Bistro and both the first and second were great. We invited friends who we hadn’t seen for awhile and I was concerned that it be really nice. It turns out that all four of us raved about our meals the guys having had the lamb chops, my girlfriend the sea bass and I the paella. My girlfriend said it was the best sea bass she has had, my paella was chock full of sea food perfectly done and the guys said their lamb chops were delicious and done just as ordered. We had a great waiter who understood we were visiting but was also attentive at the same time. Would highly recommend.
Overall, somewhat disappointing. Drinks were good, as was outdoor seating and appetizer, but then asked for 2 minutes to consider entrees and server disappeared for 15 minutes. Day boat scallops were fine, filet ordered medium rare was medium well, but potatoes and vegetables were barely warm, like the plate sat for awhile. After food came we never saw the server again, so when we finished eating we just asked for a check. Pretty underwhelming overall given all the choices in Old Naples.
Birthday for grand daughter. Had special glitters on table and dessert for the birthday girl. Wide menu and lots of choices for individual food preferences. Service was generally attentive. The one thing they messed up was not including my daughter's left over shrimp in the "to-go" package. She was very much looking forward to having it for lunch the following day.
This was our first time at Bistro 821. We love 5th Avenue South restaurants. Of course, there are many to choose from. We were able to dine outdoors, on the street. Loved the holiday lights and passers-by activity while we enjoyed our Friday night martinis and entrees. The waiter made good suggestions for entree selections. Dinner was nicely paced. We had plenty of time to walk to Gulfshore Playhouse for the 8 p.m. performance.
Best ribeye we've had in years!! As always the Sea Bass did not disappoint---melts in your mouth just like butta😋 Sourdough bread & dip was excellent before dinner & my husband so enjoyed the complimentary molten lava cake with ice cream for his birthday very much!!! Everything is always good there, including the asparagus & mashed potatoes👍🏼. Reservations aren't absolutely necessary in slower times, but strongly recommend it during peak times/seasons especially if you want a nice table along the back wall where it's warmer or if it's a special occasion! My compliments to the chef(s) & owner for the consistent food & service quality! Also, much prefer the friendly atmosphere here versus other more expensive , "stuffy" places....thank you again, we will be back soon!!!!!!
