Bistro 72 At Hotel Indigo East End
The menu has been revamped since the last time that we have been here. It is very limited. However, what we did have was excellent. They have a Happy hour from 4-7pm Sun-Fri, well worth the drink specials. There was also a guy playing a guitar and singing. He played acoustic guitar while singing softly. You could still have a conversation while he was singing. He was very good. He sang a mix of 60s to 80s, at least while we were there. My only negatives were the new seating arrangements on the patio side. There are only a few tables left due to the very large piano and fireside chairs. 2 of the tables are just about in front of the doors to the patio. Besides the foot traffic walking within inches of the tables, you get a tremendous rush of air whenever the door is opened; which is frequent between diners and staff. Don't let them seat you in either of these tables. You will not enjoy your meal. The other negative was for some reason, our waitress had only 1 table on the patio side of the place, ours. All of her other tables were on the other side, in the more formal dining room. We almost never saw her. We had to ask other staff for refills, etc. However, overall, it is worth going there. Definitely make the reservation thru Open Table. It started to get crowded by 6:45pm.
Duck was great, stay away from the oystersrockefeller . Nice people. Will go back.
Everything was fabulous except for some reason our server disappeared for about 15 minutes after we were served our entrees. We would have liked to eat our dessert much sooner than we did.. it’s even more disturbing because the last time we were there the same thing happened . I actually had to walk through the service door and ask someone to please get our waitress..
we love the place but it’s something that really needs to be addressed. And on Both occasions the restaurant was not even slightly crowded..
Delicious menu , wonderful service . The restaurant was bright and sunny and warm and inviting .
Went for Mother's Day brunch. I liked the a la carte option rather than the usual overpriced pay one price buffet found at many places on Mother's Day. Checked in with hostess before reservation time (party of 2) and waited over 30 minutes after reservation time to actually be seated. We were not the only ones with a reservation that had such a delay. Hostess was friendly and apologetic about the wait. We were told the delay was because they were waiting on previous reservations to leave. Perhaps the restaurant should use a 1.5 hour cap as other restaurants do? Did not receive the 2nd drink I had ordered (thankfully was also not billed for it) and was not offered more coffee at all. Seemed very understaffed, as service was rather slow and hostess was also bussing tables. However, the food was delicious and the staff was friendly. I would go back but probably not on a holiday.
The place has gone downhill! Not a good experience time we have had in the past so many time when we’ve eaten there.
Had a loud band playing during service , killed any thought of conversation. Food runner did not know what seat had what so he auctioned off the food , pet peeve of mine. My food was good
Loving the hotel
The service was slow even though there were only 4 people in the restaurant. The food was cold and disappointing. It is hard to really determine how the restaurant on one visit but hope it will be better next time
You would think for restaurant week a restaurant would put its best foot forward.
Tasteless pasta primavera, “artichoke” soup.
Won’t ever go back.
Just not up to par. I would not go back.
My husband and I went here for our wedding anniversary and we had a very enjoyable experience. The service the food and the ambience were very nice.
Great place. Food was amazing. Great service.
Ordered champagne with Strawberry and basil. The server brought out blackberry champagne instead. I told them it wasn't the right drink. They went back and when they came back they stated that it was the right drink just the bartender used a blackberry as a garish. Clearly, it wasn't the right drink as it didn't taste or smell like strawberries or basil. The server was new and believed the bartender.
really enjoyed our dinner at Indigo our server Alexandra was excellent
friendly professional accommodating made our birthday celebration feel special
we will return for sure it was first class
My wife and I, along with another couple, had dinner Friday evening at Bistro 72. Our meals were excellent, we had the prix fixe - the soup, entrée and dessert were top notch, as was our server. It is a great value, actually. There was live music, and the singer was quite talented, it's just that we were seated adjacent to him and had to shout to hear one another, not a terrible thing. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we all left very happy.
My friends and I do enjoy the restaurant and bar experience at this establishment. However, the past 2 times, the service was very slow and seemed understaffed. The waiter was fantastic when he was around, but just seemed understaffed.
My answer to this question is yes, but with an asterisk. While the food was delicious and our waitress was very nice we didn't quite feel like we were in the upscale bistro this place appears to advertise itself to be. To have such loud live music during dinner seemed off-putting, especially with such a small space. My wife and I were on our 9th anniversary outing, and were expecting a quiet farm-to-table-type meal, and perhaps live music after. We didn't know the band started that early. Don't get me wrong - the band was good. I'm a musician and I appreciated their chops. But our waitress couldn't hear my wife's beer order, ultimately bringing her the wrong one (and still charging us $8.00 for it when we told her not to throw it out). I thought we were doing a good thing (oh well). But the most concerning issue we encountered was that the hostess almost wouldn't seat us because when we arrived for our "reservation" because, as she put it, "it's Saturday, and we're busy... and we have a private party." I reminded her that my booking was made on OpenTable a week in advance, and to not seat us wouldn't be acceptable. We offered to even sit outside. She seemed a little bothered by that, and miraculously sat us at one of the three free two-person tables in the place. Not surprisingly neither hostess came to check on us afterwards, as we noticed they did for other tables. We didn't care - Alex, the bartender, was nice and our waitress was very pleasant. So with that said we would recommend it, with a little story to tell first.
I can't wait to eat there again and eventually try everything on the menu and a few of the drinks.
The dining room was a little loud.
Everything was fabulous.
The food was very fresh and delicious.
Hotel Indigo and Bistro 72 are great. That's it, just great. I've been to many events and finally had dinner with a group of friends. The service is very good. I had the salmon and loved it. I asked for it with no sauce and my request was easily accommodated. Very nice servers. Everyone in my group liked their food. We did request that the bright lights in the dining room be dimmed. The staff tried very hard to make it happen but we were told no dimmers on the lights. Weird for a restaurant, right? Finally they just turned some lights off, lit the candles and it was ok. The staff tries very hard to make your experience wonderful. Much appreciated!
Great job by all employees. The restaurant manager was very pleasant and welcoming. Drinks were made very well and offered at reasonable prices. The chef left a very strong impression with his cooking talent as well as his presentation of dinner. I haven't enjoyed a restaurant meal in many years as I did this particular evening. Our waiter was very diligent and personable. I NEVER fill out reviews, obviously I was very impressed for me to do so. Once again, great job by all at Bistro 72
Can't wait to go back!! Our group of 8 had a wonderful time... service was excellent, food was delicious, drinks yummy and desserts to die for! From the wings and flatbreads as appetizers to the rich chocolate dessert everything was perfect. Two people in our group had burgers that were huge and juicy. The chicken served with stuffing cup and sweet potato was like a holiday meal. Caesar salad served with CRISP fresh romaine and large grilled shrimp was soooo good. How about a tray of 3 sweet potato tacos for a meatless meal? Service was attentive and polite, the atmosphere was lovely and currently this restaurant is on the top of my list.
So fantastic! We went for Bakithi Kumalo jazz night, and the staff (esp. Kristen) couldn't be more accomodating. Thank you!
Nice that they accepted Groupon. However, can not be honored with Prix Fixe, or L I Winterfest menus.
Loved the menu
Maybe a bad night!. Our go to spot leaving east end. Medium Rare burger was well done, even the egg wasn't runny. Onion soup was in steam table all day makes it salty and bitter. We should have known when they told us " No Kettle One"
Very enjoyable experience. The ambiance is contemporary and relaxing. Our server was very polite and didn’t rush us. The food was very tasty. We really enjoy the music of the East End Trio, that is what sent us there to begin with.
Definitely would return!
Poorly managed restaurant. Waited 30 minutes before drink order, another 20-30 minutes for meal order, had to ask for desert and coffee, when served they said they didn’t have any clean spoons they were all being washed! 3 hours total...Music was good....
We Sent for restaurant week. The food was excellent.
Piano player was excellent but the TV screen above her head was a poor distraction to lovely music.
Great service mediocre food
Service was excellent. It was a Thursday evening and they had a pretty good guitar/singer entertaining. Overall it was a pleasant experience.
