We had a wonderful birthday dinner!
They were flexible in helping us be seated outside, which is what we wanted. They were so gracious in allowing us to stay past closing; we never felt pressured or rushed even though I’m sure they were anxious to head home. All the food was delicious and the drinks were great.
We enjoyed a great dinner early Saturday evening. This was only the second time we’ve been out this year. We would enjoy doing it again.
Concise menu. Items served from open kitchen were hot and well plated. Martini was served ice cold as is proper. Thanks
Pasta shines and chef specials are very good. They also know how to cook fish.
The ambience is nice but a bit too dark with a brown monochromatic palette.
I expect that they were short-staffed due to the pandemic and it showed. Hopefully with time this issue will be resolved.
Very good except for a horrible glass of Cabernet I sent back.
Great food and drinks!! We tried everything and all was fantastic!
The food is excellent. The service was great, too. Everything we ate was delicious and perfectly executed! It’s been consistently excellent for years and is our go-to restaurant for a real treat!
The food is delicious, the space is really nice and intimate, the cocktails are well-made, and the staff was super attentive without being overbearing. 10/10 would highly recommend. We’ll definitely be returning.
Fabulous restaurant! Hidden gem. Loved the food and the service.
It is a cozy place mostly for adults. We bright along two teenagers to celebrate dad’s birthday. Service was flawless. Food was mediocre unfortunately given the price tag so high. Overall a good place.
LOVE Bistro 5. The food, drinks and atmosphere are great! The owner is wonderful and the cooks are talented. My only recommendation is to expand the menu a bit. I think they started limiting choices during the Pandemic, but now it's time to start expanding again, if they can. Love this neighborhood restaurant!
Wonderful as always. Our waiter was fabulous. Bistro 5 is a favorite of mine.
Took my family. Cocktails and service good, apps top notch. The seared chicken was nice, the veal was great, the bolognese was fantastic, but my bass was very average, borderline meh. and mushy lentils with it were bland. The bass meal was not something I'd do again. Like food at a dorm or something. So my family had great meals but not me.
A wonderful evening with great food and service! We loved the calamari and the bolognese and the creme brulee.
Food was fresh, some locally sourced. Waiter was attentive but not hovering. Overall a great experience.
I was disappointed with how I was treated from the moment I entered the restaurant. We were early for our reservation at 730 p and my table was given to another three some as they came right in . I was told that they were preparing my table. Obviously a lie and they were seating their regulars. We had to wait another 15 minutes to get seated when they actually admitted that there was no table to set.. No real apologies and did not even try to make it up to us.
A gesture of graciousness by offering an appetizer or dessert. Really poor customer service. Once seated I had a great meal . The food is excellent, but the staff need to take some courses on how to treat their customers if they want them to return. I won’t rush back . It put a bad taste in my mouth. I think now restaurants think they can treat there customers like crap and they will come back if the food is good. Well think again.
The food was delicious. The service was Not very good. Also they have the door open to the street so we could hear every fire engine going by. For $100 a person I don’t want to hear the outside noise. I love the food I love the owner but the evening was not the best. Hopefully next time will be different. Thanks
Food and drink were very good. Creative cocktails were fun. Menu is small but everything is well prepared. Our party of 5 all enjoyed our meals, between us we had the Bass, the seared chicken , the veal and the beet salad.
Wonderful night. Bucatini pasta with Spanish octopus; pressed chicken. Great salad and wine choices.
Buck a chuck night is always fun! The house made pasta dishes, burger, and cocktails were all excellent. Thanks for a lovely re-entry into inside dining!
The new dessert Oliver Oil Cake with Basil ice cream is AMAZING!
The waitress forgot to tell us specials and we were disappointed seeing others with the scallops. She also gave us bread and forgot plates, so we had to wait for those to arrive.
Great dinner. Always consistently delicious.
as always, an excellent meal, really friendly people helping us.
Went for my Birthday celebration, excellent food and service, as always!
The food was excellent. The have a small menu. Everything is very precisely made in just the right portion. The favorites at the table were the calamari and the eggplant appetizers. The gnocchi entree was delightful.
The food was perfect. The service was magnificent, and they made something I could eat even though with my combination of food issues there were only a few things to eat. I left full with a desert of flourless chocolate cake to eat later when I had room.
Bistro 5 is where we go for all our special occasions. The food is always extraordinary.
Lovely dinner! Had the pleasure to be served by the chef. Fantastic food and conversation. Thanks!!
Awesome food and exceptional service!!
Awesome food! We had the bucatini and the bass. Vieux Carre cocktail was yum.
Great food, small and expensive portions. Beautiful outdoor patio but right next to commuter rail with lots of noise from trains
We had a marvelous time at Bistro 5. We will keep coming back! I do need to tell you that my chicken dish was a big disappointment. I usually love your meals. My 3 companions loved their meals.
Delicious food as always. They have a new outdoor seating area which made it feel open and special not to mention safe. Excellent service as always.
Lovely restaurant, great staff and food - but we ate outside before the commuter rail stopped. I don't recommend doing that.
Everything was very good although I felt like most of the items we ordered were about $3-$5 dollars overpriced. Not a deal breaker but for $32 dollars I want more than decorative mashed potatoes and for $10 I want a bigger slice of olive oil cake. All that to say both were delicious and I would come back again
Great Mother’s Day lunch. The chef chatted with us and was lovely.
We had the honor of having Chef Vittorio visit us at our table, and the experience overall was wonderful as usual.
We were so glad to get back to our favorite restaurant after a year of seclusion, and are looking forward to many more visits now that the restrictions have been eased.
Based on the pictures on the website it appeared there were heaters for outdoor dinning. When we arrived that was not the case. The outside temp was 48 degrees so not comfortable for dining outside without heaters. Fortunately for us they had two seat available at the bar. If is cold out do not opt for outdoor dinning.
The food and service was great!
