Really enjoyed our dinner there... muscles, duck and salmon all cooked to perfection. Nice wine selection, and deserts to die for. Will definitely go back.
It was okay. Food was fine, wish the menu was a little deeper. Waiter was very attentive. Went before a show and got in and out.
Took Mom for her birthday before a show. The wait staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious!
Really good food and attentive, helpful service. Quiet, conducive to conversation. Attractive layout.
I tried Bistro 27 with a colleague during a business trip, and we had a wonderful meal! The owner was very nice, funny, and provided great wine, and meal recommendations. The restaurant is in an awesome location with great views of the surrounding area through the large windows. Convenient parking is located behind the restaurant. The meal was absolutely delicious, and the wine recommended by the owner paired wonderfully. If I ever find myself in Richmond again, I will definitely enjoy a meal at Bistro 27! I highly recommend it.
My dinner, the special, was absolutely delicious! And the service was great.
We stumbled onto Bistro 27 as we were staying at the nearby Quirk Hotel. Excellent food, particularly seafood. And a great martini from the bar! Will happily return when in Richmond.
The food was very good. We were there early before the theater and the waiter told us we needed to order appetizers and dinner together? Toward the end of the meal our waiter was tending the bar and not really available. Maybe they had a short staff night.
Excellent food, especially the desserts. Fantastic service!
Really nice place, very good food, good acoustics for conversing with friends! Great service by Nick and William (owner/manager) topped off our wine! That was a lovely surprise. Perfect dinner before play at the November Theatre!
My girlfriend and I came for a date - wonderful ambiance and service. Nick was our server, and he killed it. He was extremely personable and accomadting. Definitely recommend 27 to all.
The food and atmosphere were all good...the people-in-charge were very helpful and fun and suggested favorites that were spot on.
When I went online to review and book, I was told no availability at 8..however, when we arrived there were maybe 2 tables occupied .
Bistro 27 was beyond my expectations. The atmosphere was great, it created an intimate setting for the occasion. The food was absolutely amazing and worth it; We traveled about two hours and it was definitely worth the drive. The calamari was great. My fiance recommended it although I have had a previous bad experience. I can honestly the preparation at Bistro 27 has given Calamari a second chance in my book and I will be having it again. The lamb was succulent, tender and flavorful with crisp veggies and fluffy mashed potatoes. My fiance had the Sea Bass and Crab which was also very flavorful and accented well with the side dishes. For dessert, we had the Tiramisu which was awesome for my first time experiencing it. Great choices for dinner and dessert. It has been three days since we've been and we are still talking about how great the food was. Perfect first time experience for us and we will definitely make our way back.
A fantastic dinner experience! I had friends coming in from out of town and they were late due to I-95 traffic. The owner/manager went out of his way to be sure was a pleasurable evening. He held our reservation to accommodate and provided special parking for my friends once they arrive. The meal was top notch and when my friends wife mentioned how much she enjoyed the meal and special oil with the bread, the owner gave her a bottle of the oil with spout and all to take home. She thanked a the chef as well as the owner and I became a hero for taking them to such a fine place.
Thanks William. I will be back again and again!
I was able to make a reservation but the restaurant was closed. This was a dinner for my girlfriends birthday and we had to make other plans because reservations were made for a place that was closed.
Pleasant and enjoyable night. Drinks, food, and conversation were matched well throughout the evening.
The owner, William, made some table changes for our group of 6 gracefully. The pace of the meal, service, fresh food quality were all excellent. Main courses were hanger steak, sea bass, stuffed ravioli and all were cooked to perfection. Spectacular floor to ceiling windows give restaurant an open inviting feeling.
Great experience outstanding service unbelievable food quality. This is a gem hidden in Richmond. The entire staff including the owner makes sure you have a remarkable time. Will be back.
We chose Bistro 17 primarily because of the menu we saw online. When we got there the actual menu was considerably smaller. Also, a bit disappointing that they did not have caffeinated coffee.
But, the service was very good and it is a beautiful restaurant. Very good quality wines.
We were greeted promptly by Jamie, and then seated. I asked. If they had any sweet wines. The bartender created a dry Riesling and Moscato combination that hit the spot. I ordered the sea bass with crab meat with a wonderfully light sauce.
William, the manager, joined us for some delightful conversation, and our server, Jamie, was pleasant and professional.
A thoroughly delightful evening.
Traveling out of town and not wanting to eat at hotel we tried this place. There was only one other table filled when we arrived. The waitress was enthusiastic however I believe she may have been training. She had an addition server join us for ordering whonwas bery helpful and polite. The food was adequate but quick.
Went with a party of six on a Tuesday evening...restaurant was very accommodating to some special client beverage request..we were only diners there, but service and timing was excellent. Bread and salads very good, entree's very so-so. Poor wine list. Can't recommend for food, but kudos to staff for service and willing to accommodate.
New Year's Eve 2017! One of the worst meals I've had in a very long time! Overdressed soggy salad! Horrible rib eye steak and tasteless everthing else! Too bad because it is a very attractive reataurant!
It was New Years Eve and they had a special menu. The steak on the menu, called prime, was anything but. Food was rushed and everything was cold. It was a cold night. The manager, when informed comped the meal, though.
As always a great evening, great food, and an exceptional host.
Four of us went to Bistro 27 for New Years Eve dinner. We all enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant but unfortunately that's where it ended. The menu was a special 3 course meal for $48.50 a person. We were all aware of the special menu and we're looking forward to the options available. None of us enjoyed our meals, two of us had the roasted leg of lamb, our portion sizes were completely different but both were dry and tough. One of us had the Prime cut rib-eye steak which was half fat.
Overall with so many great restaurants in Richmond to choose from this is not one we would return to. I have heard they have a good brunch.
Quaint restaurant with good food.
I went to Bistro 27 with a couple of friends before the theater and had a wonderful experience! Everything from food to service was fantastic. I had the Sea Scallops, my friends had the sea bass and crab and the duck breast. Food was presented beautifully. Service was quick but not rushed. We will definitely be returning soon!
Another great meal. Always pleased to have our special occasions celebrated here.
William, the owner/manager, makes you feel right at home and a valued customer.
The portions were a little smaller than expected for the pricing but still was enjoyable. The scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly. The olive bread and cheese bread were delicious.
Service was really amateur unfortunately. Food was solid though pricey for RVA—we probably won’t be back.
We were in town for the GCV Symposium. It was walking distance from the hotel. Great food and service.
we have been going for years and never have had less than an excellent meal whether brunch, lunch or dinner. free parking & close proximity to VaRep are added benefits and of course William is a delightful host & reconteur!
Had the Sea Base with crab. The problem was that one only one lump of crab on top of an over cooked sea base. The vegetables were meager and no taste. The meal was over priced.
My date had the pear/arugula salad with shrimp. Two shrimp and too much arugula with two slices of pear. Again, over priced.
My date was told that the before dinner drink was comp but I was charged $ 8. Did not even want to go there with the waitress.
Go across the street to Max. Looking through the front windows, Max was full and Bistro had three tables with guest and this is on Friday night with a show down the street.
Awesome place for brunch. Tried the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict (first time trying Eggs Benedict ever) and it was amazing. Will definitely be returning.
Dead fly in the salad. The wait staff said they'd take the salad off the bill. And they brought a free glass of wine and apologized. Food was overall bland. Glazed carrots inedible.
My husband and I celebrated our 31st anniversary at Bistro 27 and it was great - quiet, romantic, love the large windows and being able to look out onto the street while dining, food was outstanding, service impeccable. Cant' wait to return. Sherrie and Aubrey Payne
First visit. Small but service was very good. Good choice minimal but good. Will definitely go back.
Made a reservation but was turned away because they were hosting a private event. Should probably not accept reservations if your restaurant isn't available.
