Bistro 245 Ratings and Reviews
We thought the Bistro 245 was an OK restaurant. The Food was fine but not outstanding.
However it was New Years Eve ( in a resort location) and as we all know sometimes quality suffer as the crowd gets bigger. I have eaten there at other times and it was "very good".
I ate here when the Hotel was a Westin and it was awesome! One of the best meals I had in Key West. I looked so forward to going back. Now as Margaritaville, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food was not good, it lacked flavor, the fish was bland and the quinoa had absolutely no taste at all.
We arrived for Christmas dinner at the time reserved. The hostess was indifferent and ruid. She could not find our confirmed Open Table reservation and finally said it doesn’t matter. She asked if we wanted to be seated inside or outside. We said inside because we didn’t want to be seated next to smokers outside. We were escorted inside. The entire restaurant was empty but for one table with a family of 3 at the middle table in front of the window looking out to the sunset. We were seated at a table next to the door of the kitchen and the outside service door. There were 2 dining rooms and no one else was in either room and only 2 other tables were set after we arrived. The restaurant was empty. The noise from the kitchen was very loud. The cigarette smoke from the outside came in on top of use every time the door was opened. We ordered a bottle of Saugivou Blanc anything but Kim Crawford. The server brought us a Kim Crawford. I could go on but $137 later the food was passable. I would not go back and would not recommend this mediocre restaurant to anyone. We had enjoyed such an gracious evening at Michael’s the night before and were looking forward to a wonderful evening for Christmas dinner and were very disappointed. Not a restaurant I would recommend to anyone.
Server Michael made our annual brunch here amazing. Bottomless mimosas and great service was amazing. We live Key West and good drinks and great food are the staples of our travel plans. MICHAEL you are god sent. ❤️This brunch and it’s all because of the excellent Svc you provide.
What a great find! Zach and Crissi were so attentive and friendly. They did a great job meeting our request for gulf-side seating and a birthday celebration. The food was delicious and dining during a Mallory Square sunset (but without the actual chaos of Mallory Square) was perfect! Highly recommend Bistro 245!
Outstanding Sunday Brunch. The food was fresh and tasted great. Every bite was worth taking a second and nothing sat out too long, was soggy or cold. The chefs did an amazing job preparing food that turned over constantly. The service was a little slow and the only food we didn't enjoy as much was the desserts. They were placed by the window and it was very hot and everything was a little melted. Other than that, the price tag and every calorie was worth it!
We were staying in the Margaritaville Hotel of which the Bistro is a part. The view is unbeatable, facing west over the water to the Key West sunset - spectacular, though you will want to go outside to fully appreciate it.
The service was fast and pleasant, the food was tasty, abundant, and well-presented. Try the seafood cocktail! And the drinks were nicely concocted. This is also the source of the room service breakfasts at the hotel - they too were marvelous!
Was so excited to take my husband there for Father's day brunch. The food was good except the warm food need better warmers. Also, we made reservations for 1PM and exactly at 2pm, the kitchen staff began breaking down the buffet line and did not replenish food as the time got closer to 2. Was very disappointed with that. Other than that, we would be happy to dine there again as long as we get what we pay for akd not rushed out.
Great service !! Our waiter Al was awesome our drinks and coffee were never empty, We had gone on Sunday for the brunch , go with an appetite there is so much food , everything was delicious and the dessert, yum. Everyone was friendly from the moment we were greeted, a smile from all the staff . I would suggest making a reservation for brunch and pace yourself , your going to want to try everything , everything is delicious.
I enjoyed my visit - but found the reservation misleading - I thought I was reserving a table for Sunday brunch to find out it wasn't being served until later in the morning. At that point it was too late to make other arrangements. Still had a very good meal, and enjoyed the breakfast.
Portions were generous, but food was only so-so - not really in line with reviews. Sat outdoors on a Saturday night with music blaring from next door. was nice enough being outdoors on a mid-late May evening in Key West, but certainly could have been better. Service was decent, though we waited a bit for main course. No big demerits, just should have been a notch better.
We thought the food was fantastic! Overpriced but It was really good. If your looking for sunset dinner might want to think of another place.you need to be up higher than the crowd. Everyone was crowded in front of us and we had to get up and look over top of them. Holding our phones high over heads for a beautiful picture. Not what I thought it would be like but we did enjoy it after the people scattered a bit.
We had an excellent experience at Bistro 245. We had a lovely table outside overlooking the water at sunset. Our waiter, Dimitry, was attentive and accommodating. The food was delicious (try the filet!) with beautiful presentation and we were very happy with our wine selections.
We will be leaving Key West soon and wanted to have one more Sunday Brunch at Bistro 245. The food is top notch. A good selection of breakfast items plus a made-to-order omelette station. The dessert selection is plentiful! There must be 20 different choices. There is also a hot station with different main course choices, vegetable, starch and carving station. But my favorite is the salad station and the fresh seafood bar. There is sushi and various salads on the salad station. The fresh bar always includes oyster, shrimp, crab claws (I'm sure I ate at least a dozen), and smoked salmon. And I forgot to mention bottomless mimosas or champagne. We were lucky enough to go on a gorgeous Key West day with the temperature around 70 degrees and no humidity so we had a table for two outside. I highly recommend Sunday Brunch at Bistro 245.
