Again, a great experience at Bistro. Service was exceptional.
I have eaten here a couple times and it was good but this evening was not good. The speciality drinks were awful (tried 2 different ones) and our waitress ended up leaving half way through our dinner. Our halibut was overcooked and the beet salad was not very tasty. The best part of the dinner was the dessert. It was very good.
Great food and service! Steak was seasoned very well and cooked to order!
All I can say is get the Mahi-mahi, it was outstanding. Great food and a nice atmosphere. Our 3 time here and quickly becoming a favorite of ours!
Seared Ahi was great. My wife had the chicken marsala, very good. Nice wine list! Bruschetta appetizer really good. One of the nicest places in Turlock for dinner!
Food was very good, but could tell the regualr chef was not there.
There were 8 of us. Steaks, Salmon, Bass, Ahi Tuna were ordered and we all loved the food; great attention to service; nice wine menu. In and out within an hour, but we were not rushed. We will definitely come back. Others in our group had been there before. 234 Bistro was recommended to us by over a dozen people.
I reserved it as a special occasion. As we were walked to our table, it would have been nice if my wife was acknowledged for her special day. Our waitress didn't introduce herself, felt a little cold, with her service. She checked up on us as needed without leaving us alone to long. Which was nice.
Thanks for following up
Luckily the restaurant was slow, only a couple other tables if not the service wouldn't have been great. All the other tables got bread and butter but we weren't even offered any. Our cups ran out of water for a bit before getting refilled. The food is very expensive.
But I definitely must say their appetizer clams with chorizo were divine, all of us LOVED them! The mac and cheese was also fairly tasty and definitely made from scratch. The chicken masala was disgusting, same as the last time I came 5 years ago. I thought maybe they had changed it but apparently not and I felt bad about not warning my cousin it wasn't any good before . Another member got the burger and they didn't care for it. The Alaskan dish was ok. Tiger prawn and scallop dish was divine after adding a little extra salt and pepper which isn't a big deal, I would definitely order it again!
Excellent food and service. A larger wine list would be awesome. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere was great , The food was very good, (too much sauce in the gnocchi)
but our waitress was a little pretentious, and the hostess.
I’ve been to many high-end restaurants (mainly in the city) and recently dined at a high-end restaurant in Modesto where the service staff was just incredible, always there for our needs, willing to make us happy, very attentive, gave us whatever we wanted as far as drinks...any kind of drink that we wanted.
My boyfriend wanted a ‘fireball’ (shot) our waitress flatly and rudely said ‘no we don’t have that’ was pretty rude about.
Wow the high-end restaurant in Modesto made us any kind of drinks we wanted.
I myself have never heard of a fireball... so I’m not sure if it’s like on the lower end of the List of drinks?
Still....she could’ve been a little more polite and said ‘oh you know I’m really sorry we don’t have that here, can I offer you something similar .’
I also owned a restaurant for about 10 years
So yes, I don’t like bad service at restaurants. I probably won’t go back there because of the experience with the waitress.
Now the server who brought out our food was very polite and so was the person who filled up our water glasses.
Delicious! Love everything about Bistro. Drinks are super yummy!
Thank you for making our special evening wonderful!
Great meal. Specials were awesome
I have never been disappointed in the service or the meal.
The halibut is amazing! I also have to get the key lime pie every single time.
The food was terrific and the service pleasant and attentive. The drinks were excellent. Nice atmosphere, although a little loud making it hard to hear my fellow diners.
I decided to go further afield for dinner and picked Bistro 234 to try. It was a lovely dinner. The waitperson was attentive, not hovering, just there when I wanted something. The food was great. I started with the Truffle Mac and Cheese. It’s too big and rich a dish for a starter for one, but I loved how it sounded so I ate around half and took the rest home. I followed this with the Ahi Tuna with the spicy plum sauce. It was amazing. Then I finished up with the creme brûlée. I think it’s the best I’ve had. I’ll definitely be going back!
We loved it!
Chicken masala was great. It's my wife's favorite. I tried their venison plate, which was very tasty. Only downside was it was pretty busy and took a notably long time to get our food.
We had a group of 8 (which turned into 10) for a business dinner. The staff were friendly and helpful with such a large group. The food was also delicious (appetizers, dinner and wine). I would definitely come back to visit!
Great food, great service!
The dinning experience exceeded my expectations. Great service, good food and drinks. The seating arrangement was perfect.
Food was good, but not stellar. We felt they were rushing us. Love the restaurant, but this was not our best experience. Will go back.
This is a nice place, our experience was okay although the server in our opinion was overwhelmed with tables. There were two people at the front door greeting everyone which is good on a busy night (it wasn’t that busy) but IMO could have helped out by getting menus and drinks to tables. Over all an okay experience the drinks we ordered were lousy we did not finish them the food was good though.
Great food and great service. We enjoyed the whole evening and had a great waitress.
I cannot brag on this restaurant enough! Our servers, Britta and Tye, were amazing! They are both a huge asset, bringing their “A” game to the table! They were lots of fun with their wit and just as charming with their knowledge, accommodating manners and professionalism!
The food is a 10 across the board and we thoroughly enjoy it each and every Valentines Day!
Valentines Day and initial table was next to kitchen entrance. The hostess kindly moved us and also accommodated my having flowers delivered by setting them on the table! We love 234 and eat there often. It is the best place in the valley!
Bistro is always fantastic....the best dining within a 200 mile radius.
The food was so greasy! The whole bottom of my plate -bacon wrapped prime rib and my husband’s chilean sea bass was SOAKED in olive oil. When I showed my waitress she shrugged it off saying that the food is cooked in Olive oil. Cooked I understand swimming was too much. My prime rib was only about 4oz which was disappointing since I paid $31 for it and our food took an hour to arrive at our table. I was so disappointed since our first experience was wonderful. It’ll be a long time before we return.
Food wasn't as good as usual. Rib eye was thin, without much taste. Lettuce in house salad was old ,brown on edges, tomato as spoiling.
Excellent service and excellent food, we can’t wait to go back! I highly recommend the bruschetta, market salad, chicken Marsala, and peanut butter pie!
As always, excellent service, food, drinks and ambiance! We had a party of 14. We were seated in the wine cellar. The server handled our chatty table so well! We never had to wait long for anything and never felt rushed. Love Bistro 234!
The food and service are always great! Love the menu. I had the special for Turlock restaurant week and it was excellent!
My husband and I love the Bistro. We typically go here on date nights. Our server was not that great this time though. Food and wine was delicious as usual.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and our daughter and son-in-law recommended your restaurant. It was a good choice.
We made reservations to celebrate a birthday and got a table next to the cold air and a really unhappy and unfriendly inattentive waitress. Very unwelcoming. No hello. No thank you. It was obvious she had better things to do than wait on customers Saturday evening. Pity we ended up with such a sour waitress. Why would we even bother to return?
First visit for lunch; we will be back. I had the special - mushroom ravioli with a garlic cram sauce. It was delicious. Nice wine list and good food selection.
Despite our reservation for 6 several days in advance, we were seated next to the restroom. An endless stream of toilet seekers was a bummer. The velvet curtain shielding the view was useless. The food was merely decent.
