Our waiter, a young man, tall, thin and with a beard was a wonderful server. Sometimes the service there is uneven but on Wednesday it became clear that Bistro 2110 has taken service in to consideration and hired better servers. I wish that I remembered his name so that I could cite him directly. That said, it was nice.
Business lunch very convenient.
Server took over 10 minutes to greet table. Did not bring bread to our table nor offer. Felt very rushed. Huge dining room but we were seated with guests on both sides of us, created a rather noisy atmosphere. Dessert was a brownie that was rock hard and tasteless. Would not recommend.
My friends and I were very excited to try this place for Eat 614 Restaurant Week. The per fixe menu had good options for everyone in our group. The food we had was great, but the service was horrendous. They never cleared a plate prior to bringing more food out for the next course. My dinner plate was in front of me with food left over and they served me dessert which I had to hold until we could find room on the table to set it down. I had to ask for a box for the dinner food on my plate that was leftover, no one offered me one. I also boxed my food myself. This was a nicer restaurant so that was unexpected but I don't mind boxing it. One of my friends with me had the exact same problem. We clearly needed boxes but none were offered until asked for when we finely asked the nice guy filling our water glasses for one. He was not our server. I can understand if the restaurant is busy but only 8 tables had patrons in a large dinning room. We saw multiple servers, very rarely our own however. My friend was also very disappointed in the drink she ordered. The glass was served half empty and it wasn't the appropriate glass for the drink to start with. We won't be going back.
Overall it was a nice experience. One person in our party received a really tough steak but all of the other food was delicious.
My truffle fries had no truffle, but it was a good meal. Good for a hotel restaurant.
I guess I expected more from this restaurant located within the Blackwell. I was there for lunch on a Friday and could excuse the timing since it was very busy. Still, my seasonal risotto was not anything like the server described (and supposedly verified). It wasn't bad - just not what I had expected.
This place took a long, long time to seat us despite the reservation made and the restaurant being over 50% empty. The staff several times had to ask which party we were with. They were clearly confused. When we were seated, it took them over 10 minutes to come with water - finally, it was the hostess that came with the waters and then proceeded to spill it all over our friend's iPhone - ugh! We asked several times for someone to come take our order and didn't get anyone for another 15 minutes. We decided that we were never going to make our show with this kind of service, so we walked out... This was terrible, and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone... What a shame...
Thank you for making our business meeting a success!
We had 7 family
Members for brunch and one
9 yr old
Good food, breakfast buffet and inlet station were great!!
There was only one person doing omelets and waffles, it made the line very slow. The Sunday brunch food is good except the sausage gravy, it's from a can I think.
The service is always good and the staff is always pleasant, we usually have 10-16 people when we meet here every year.
The food was awful. They serve fake items instead of real butter, eggs and maple syrup.
Great value. Substitutions easily made to menu. The desserts at Hudson 29 are second to none.
Lunch buffet is generally pretty good: two protein sources, veggies and a starch in addition to soup and salad and dessert bars. (Salad bar can be ordered by itself or with soup - or it comes with the buffet).
It's nice that the buffet menu is posted on-line so I can decide whether I want to dine there on a given day.
Dessert bar is very nice.
Waited 20 minutes for drinks. Food took forever. Will probably not be back here.
This place is ideal for both casual and business dining with numerous choices on the menu and the lunch buffet.
It took a very long time for the food to arrive, but otherwise it was a good experience.
Bistro 2110 has a weekday buffet for lunch. It includes salad bar, soup, veggies, a starch (potatoes, pasta), rolls, and two main courses. You can order just the salad bar, soup and salad bar, or full buffet. Value is great for any of the three options (and beverage is included).
The chef does wonderful work - especially with fish (salmon is always done just right), and is creative with sauces and with what is combined with the main course meat, fish, chicken, etc. They also have a menu, but I don't have enough time for lunch to order from it. I can get back to work on time if I do the buffet. I'm also a really big fan of the mushroom brie soup, New England clam chowder, and shrimp and corn chowders. I look forward to when one of those is the soup du jour.
Service is always very good. Reservations suggested because it's hard to know when a couple of large groups might cause several tables to be unavailable (it is in a hotel that includes a conference center).
My first time At Bistro 2110: lunch from 1:15 to 2:45 -- very quiet that late. Can't say otherwise.
I like having valet parking, especially in the university neighborhood!
The food seemed well-prepared, except that my sandwich (turkey and brie) was too thick, as usual at most restaurants nowadays. It would have been a couple of notches upward had it not been so hard to eat because it was over-loaded -- dripping, in fact -- and it would still have been plenty of food. The salad was good, but I can't call it outstanding. The dessert was also good but nothing special.
My companion asked the waiter several silly (in my opinion) questions. He graciously handled them, including going to the kitchen for one answer.
Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food; could probably have charged a bit more for the ambience.
Located on-campus at The Ohio State University (directly across from the Horseshoe) this is a perfect place for business lunch/dinner. Valet parking, adjacent to the Fisher College of Business, and within walking distance to the football, baseball, basketball stadiums.
Our reservation was for noon and we arrived a couple minutes early. We were not served until 1 p.m. Ridiculously long wait!
Overall I did not enjoy my experience. New year's eve can be tough to work but there was no excuse for two meals ordered at 7:55 to come out at 8:45. It was clear by the low occupancy of the restaurant that no one had orders ahead of us. One meal was undercooked and when returned without wanting it replaced, it was still added to the Bill. Service was slow and seemed disorganized. Food was served in small portions and not memorable. Disappointing experience.
My daughter's OSU graduation ceremony was capped off by dinner in this lovely restaurant and we were delighted to share a family meal together here.
Salad bar always includes greens and a variety of items (beets are yummy) to turn them into a salad, good selection of dressings. Also includes 3 specialty salads, one of which is usually tuna salad - quite good. Fruit salad always fresh fruit, 2 flavors of house potato chips add to the selection.
Main buffet is 2 protein dishes - creatively cooked with excellent presentation, vegetables, and a starch. Soup is varied. Dessert bar provides an excellent choice of standards and interesting choices. The chef does a particularly excellent job with salmon (served in a variety of ways).
My only criticism is that the buffet doesn't officially "open" until 11:30. I'd prefer the 11:00am open offered by many restaurants; I don't generally have more than an hour for lunch (and transportation to and from), and sometimes Bistro 2110 gets pretty crowded (and the lines at the buffet tables time consuming).
Several of us traveled to Columbus for a weekend wedding. Getting there a day early gave us a chance to have a mini reunion. We decided to stay at the Hotel for dinner that night. We couldn't have been more pleased. The food was fabulous and our server was wonderful. We found out that most of the staff were college students which impressed us very much. We decided to also have breakfast and lunch at the Bistro. The variety of unique choices was a pleasing experience. We all decided that we will plan another mini reunion in the near future.
Food and service were very good!
Unfortunately, the management was unable to charge the meal to my Department account even though I
presented the Department Account Number. Thus, I believe I was charged an unnecessary sales tax and my Department
has to undertake significant administrative effort to provide reimbursement for the charges to my credit card.
I think a simpler procedure to handle these transactions should be implemented – as the Faculty Club has long done.
Bistro 21 consistently provides great food at a reasonable price. The restaurant has a rich atmosphere with great views of the OSU campus. Valet parking makes it easy to get in and out. The staff are always very attentive. Thank you!
The food is always fantastic, but I've found the service to be inattentive and unfriendly most of the time. I usually opt for a quick lunch buffet, so it's never an issue for me as long as I get water to drink and a check at the end of the meal. But if you're looking to order off the menu, you practically have to beg the waiter/waitress to come to your table again.
Had breakfast here one morning while on a business trip. I had to improve my ricotta pancakes (which I make at home that are way better) that were supposed to have orange in them with marmalade jam. It's just ok. Waiter took my order of pancakes and juice. When he brought my juice he asked me again what I ordered because he did not write it down and then forgot (like within 5 minutes!). Food coming out of the kitchen continues to be very slow. I was ready to leave when my pancakes finally came out after 40 minutes of being seated and knowing exactly what I wanted. They need to do something with the ambience which is non-existent.
We had a reservation for dinner and breakfast since we were staying at the hotel. Service and wait were great each time.
Arrived promptly for our reservation. We were seated and the waitress took our order. 45 minutes later we had not been served our meal. Having seen others get up and leave without eating, we asked the waitress what was going on and told her if our food wasn't served promptly we would have to leave to go to a concert. Eventually, she returned to the table to tell us we were still way down on the list so we paid for our wine and left.
There was no excuse for this. The restaurant didn't seem overly crowded, and they knew in advance the number of customers to expect and at what time since it was reservation only. I can't see how a place so poorly run can possibly stay in business for long.
Made reservations to eat at the Bistro prior to an event at OSU Stadium. Big mistake. We missed the opening act due to the slowest service we've ever experienced.
We knew we were in trouble when, as we were being seated, the ladies who were at the table next to us said that they had already been waiting for 1.5 hours on their meals. They had ordered two Reuben Sandwiches with fries. It was 2 hours between the time they were seated and when they received their food. It took 1.5 hours for us to be served three hamburgers with fries and a salad. Food was good, but service was abysmal... and NO one seemed to care. Will not make the mistake of going there again.
Pastries are by far the star of the breakfast menu.
I made a reservation for myself for breakfast at 10. When I arrived, I waited 3 minutes before the host showed up to take me to my table. It wasn't busy and I made eye contact with servers hoping they would call someone over to seat me but they just went about their business until the host finally arrived. I was not in the mood for a sweet breakfast but I was intrigued by the orange ricotta pancakes on the menu and asked if I could order a smaller order to try on the side. The server said it was not possible and I respected that. I ended up with the Blackwell Eggs which consisted of two poached eggs over Canadian bacon and English muffin with a hollandaise sauce. This dish was good but not great. The sauce came in a gravy boat and was almost too thick to pour. I ordered sausage links on the side and those were excellent. The coffee was on the watery side but drinkable. Server was very nice but never refilled my coffee until I asked and took a long time to get me my check. Overall, it was an ok experience but nothing more. I've had much better.
Great lunch spot.
Good food and fun time with friends between classes
This was a lunch to thank my fundraising team. Very pleasant typical hotel lunch. While not extraordinary cuisines, the food was well done and good. Most of us had salads, sandwiches and soups. Service was effortless, food arrived on time, empty glasses were promptly refilled. A pleasurable spot in the OSU area
The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. I took my parents and they said they couldn't even express how much they enjoyed the lunch. We had the buffett!
Great value!, especially the buffett; love the salad bar.
The whole athmosphere is great. Services is very good.
A great choice if on campus dining is needed. The students do a good job, but food and service is always a bit slow. It's not a terrible thing, just something to build into your timeline to be aware of.
Another perk is valet at Blackwell and have your parking validated by the Bistro.
