Bistro 1902 Ratings and Reviews
This is the third or fourth time we've been to this restaurant -- the first time at their new location, just across the street from the old one. We loved the new place. The food is wonderful, the service and staff is attentive and helpful, and the new owner is a joy. When we told him we were going to be in Paris he gave us some recommendations for restaurants we would enjoy. We will definitely go back. FYI: the onion soup is "to die for." A great place for a relaxing dinner.
My daughter and I came to this restaurant ..food was horrible service was horrible...it was so un organized..the only good thing was the nice guy pouring the champagne..They also told us what we should tip ..they just added it to the bill...and we already tipped them..We also felt sick later that day and night till following morning diaharea and chills...the food was laying out all over with no ice under it! Sorry to be honest!
We had a Groupon for lobster tail dinner for two, house salad and shared dessert ($42 regular price; $21 Groupon price). We started by ordering wine for my wife and a cosmo for me. The cosmo was presented in a large wine glass with a straw and ice cubes??? The taste was OK, but not used to drinking a martini out of a wine glass with a straw??? When we ordered, my wife asked what the vegetable came with the dinner. She was told is was squash and zucchini which she cannot stand. We asked if we could substitute something else and our server said no substitutions were allowed given how busy they were (I would estimate 2/3 of the tables were empty??). The food was good, however, the lobster tails were the smallest I have ever eaten (a couple of ounces at most). Had to ask for drawn butter. On the positive side, I spoke to the owner regarding what we felt were "service deviations" and he comped a 2nd martini for me and a cup of coffee for my wife. Another extenuating circumstance was that this restaurant had recently moved and had only been open for 4 days and apparently were still working out some of the kinks!
We have been going to Bistro 1902 for many years, we were a little surprised when the location changed. I reserved online and thought maybe I should have been notified. The food was excellent as usual. Not sure if it was because they had just moved to the new location but I found the service so so. All in all, it was good
Unfortunately the place is going down in quality, only a special menu with a few overpriced items, no wine list, I believe the owner would be better off to shut the place down then having purely quality food, no credit card accepted although we have been there many time before and we could pay with a credit card, fortunately my wife and I we could manage to pay in cash.
Maybe this situation will work in France but not in the US,
Service was great, food was very good; they have a pretty good offer online for a 4 person meal but no everything is included so if you select a plate that is more expensive than the one on the offer you have to pay the difference. They charge 18% service regardless of the party size and tax on top, and they do not have credit card machine so you have to pay via paypal or go to the nearest ATM. At the end we ended up paying over $150 for 4 people.
This restaurant is good, but not at $150 level for a party of 4.
We used a "gift certificate" that we purchased wherein we got $80 of food for $40. For two of us, we ended up spending a little over $100 before tax/tip. The food was good, the service was average, and the restaurant needed a thorough cleaning and some repairs. Basically, for this price point, the restaurant should have been in better condition --- in our opinion. I gave it a "value" of 3 stars if using a discount, but I would rate it lower if paying full price.
Horrible customer service from our waitress. Asked for more water and she says "sure" and never returns. Acts like we are non-existent, maybe because we are Groupon users and she was receiving her tip already. Nonethless, even if you are guaranteed tip, you should not be avoiding and ignoring your customers. I have always been a generous tipper regardless of service, but the attention and service we were getting from our waitress was horrible. This was a vacation we took and this had to be by far the worse restaurant we dined in at due to the service alone.
As people from out of town, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food, service, and authenticity of the French style cuisine offered at Bistro 1902. We purchased a Groupon and received two salads, two entrées and unlimited wine! Great deal and fantastic ambience for a romantic last meal in Florida.
I would recommend this place only if someone happened to be in the neighborhood. The food was just ok, nothing to really write about. Although the servers were friendly enough, the service gets slow when they get a little busy. Went for brunch and they definitely make the effort to clear your dirty plates. And their mimosas were more orange juice than champagne, fyi
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful Mussels in wine sauce and Filet Mignon dinner , complimented with a smooth Malbec and delicious Chardonnay wines , last Friday.
We had a Groupon deal and weren't sure what to expect but we were not disappointed in the least. I usually do not have dessert but they were all so delicious, I had to indulge in a Flan with berries and shared a bite of Chocolate Molten cake. The staff were friendly and attentive.
Overall, a great experience..we will definitely return. I hear the Sunday brunch is amazing!!
Meeting with my 99 yo aunt and my cousin, this was the perfect venue. There were choices for everyone. The food was good. The wait staff was appropriately friendly and solicitous. It was quiet enough for us to talk. We were not rushed nor was the service too "relaxed" . I've already recommended it to many others. We were there on a Sunday night; don't know what other nights are like.
I walked in with three other people at 2:00 pm. I had made a reservation on Open Table with a dining certificate I had purchased on Groupon. As soon as I showed the waitress my certificate, I was told that they would not honor it because the restaurant was owned by someone else from opening until 3:00 pm and it was called Crepe 1902 during breakfast and lunch (HUH??). The waitress called the owner and she handed the phone over to me so I could speak to him. He said my certificate was invalid and he would not honor it because I was dining at Crepe 1902 and not Bistro 1902. I told him I had made reservations on Open Table and his restaurant was called, "Bistro 1902," not "Crepe 1902" on the page where I made the reservation. I also argued that nowhere on his storefront or menu was there any sign or notice indicating anything about any "Crepe 1902" restaurant. This was so embarrassing to everyone in my party and also to the waitress. My friends and I got up and left and went next door to Mauro's Pizza to have our lunch.
I immediately went home and reported "Bistro 1902" (aka ""Crepe 1902") to both Open Table and Groupon. Both companies were extremely apologetic and told me they would call the restaurant owner to set things straight.
It is such a shame that a neighborhood restaurant would engage in such a deceptive business practice by not being honest and letting customers know that the restaurant had an alternate name and continuing to allow them to make reservations for "Crepe 1902" under the "Bistro 1902" name. I will never go back to this restaurant again. I will also warn others not to patronize it.
Went for my birthday and used a Groupon lobster dinner for two. The lobsters seemed to only be one pound instead of a pound and a half. I had a glass of Malbec and it was not good! Food was ok. Caesar salad and escargot were good. Service was not good! I will not go back!
