Everything we had was exceptional. I liked the structure of the menu - it allows you to order smaller versions of dishes to try more options. My wife and I had the lobster hush puppy, seared diver scallops, duck confit strudel, the rack of lamb and the surf and turf special (lobster tail and filet). Every dish was outstanding and the bourbon list was stellar (which is expected in Louisville). Great experience!
This place is always on our short list of places to eat in Louisville for a special dinner. Being able to order small plates of many different dishes is so much fun! We're especially fond of the lamb tartare, escargot, Brussels sprouts, mussels, rack of lamb, salads, and all of the dessert selections. Also, top notch chef and staff as well!
One of the specials of clam chowder which was excellent. Wish I had ordered as my entre as well. I thought the salmon I ordered was not cooked enough. I should have said something at the beginning when I ordered, so it was my fault. I have been there in the past and I love their scallops, potatoes, and Brussel sprouts. Yummy!

We had a different server from usual - though he has been there a long time. He was great!
Food is interesting, different flavors and very high quality.
My only grumble is that I felt my two tiny pieces of salmon were overpriced, particularly since they come with absolutely nothing on the plate other than a sauce.
Cocktails are always good.
Not a cheap option but we feel the quality is worth it.
I can't wait to go back and try other small plates! We had a curry coconut soup to start which was slightly spicy and had the perfect combination of broth to cream. We both had duck strudel which is wonderful. Hubby had lamb, perfectly cooked and sauced. Hollandaise on lobster hush puppy light, creamy, lemony, perfect. Julio our server personable, friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great meal all around!
Wonderful evening with terrific service. My husband ordered the short ribs because the Wagu steak wasn’t available. He said it was in the top 3 beef dishes he’s ever had. Lobster hushpuppies were delicious as well. Scallops were good but not excellent. Live music on the patio was top notch.
Bistro 1860 is one of my favorite restaurants in Louisville. We find ourselves there again and again- everything is always fantastic. Chef Crouch is creative and there are always abundant specials to choose from in addition to a really diverse seasonal menu.
We've been going to Bistro for many years now. When we visited last, we had three dishes. The mussels were absolutely perfect. Plump, succulent. The lobster hushpuppy was off. It was over cooked. The pommes frites were soggy and cool. As always, the service was superb. Hope the kitchen can get things worked out.
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Bistro 1860 with a phenomenal meal, great service and good music! Our server John provided helpful suggestions and even served us coffee out on the patio well after our meal was complete.
We love that the menu allows us to try multiple small bites and explore all the menu has to offer. The sashimi was amazing. Highly recommend the scallops. Best brussel sprouts I have had in Louisville. Can't wait to go back!
The food selections were varied and excellent, service was also professional, polite and informative. This occasion was not the first time for dinner. The only problem was the unusually long wait on the main dinner selection - it was over an hour. The server twice apologized for the delay and checked with the kitchen. The restaurant was busy but no full, so there is no apparent excuse. Hopefully the next visit will be better.
This review is pretty simple. The food options are excellent, and we really enjoy the small plate options allowing us to try several options from the menu. The cocktails were really well made and quite delicious. The service was by far the best - very prompt and friendly.
If you are willing to spend a little more ($100 easy for two) then this is a great foodie/date/special occasion spot.
The atmosphere was nice, but the food was way over-priced. They have 3 prices on most entrees. I ordered the medium size of the Diver Scallops. My $25 entree consisted of TWO Small scallops! Not large scallops, 2 very small ones. Needless to say, we were shocked. The others in my party ordered the med size and had very small portions as well. NEVER AGAIN!
