Bistro 112 Ratings and Reviews
Wine was very well priced! Salad Nicoise was pretty good though the vinaigrette was supposedly lemon wasabi but couldn't taste the wasabi. Mussels good, broth very thick and creamy, unusual but good. Ratatouille delicious but served w an unusually large slab of fried eggplant topped w one small piece of mozzarella which was surprising that they took the time to list the mozzarella on the dish description - it was not a characterizing feature. Pasta bolognese was good w hearty pieces of meat. Cute , small place.
The bread starts things off on a great note! Highly recommend the muscles! French fries are a super tasty treat! Husband loved the steak au poivre! Finish it off with a nice cappuccino! Highly recommend for a nice meal in Shepherdstown!
Our food was terrible. My green beans clearly came from a can and my mashed potatoes arrived cold. My dining partner's ratatouille existed of vegetables stewed in canned tomato sauce. Both dishes were unpalatable and our cheese plate came with graham crackers. Bistro 112 is an insult to French food and more reminiscent of a college's student first foray into cooking. I do not recommend it for any occasion.
Great service!!! I felt special. Server didn't call us "guys" once!!! She was so pleasant and professional. Wish more quality of service like that existed at most restaurants. Pinot was very nice. Food was great. Had the pasta and zucchini & squash side. Mixed it all together and wow.
Thought about how I wish I had two more days of leftovers. Will return!!!
Had dinner at Bistro 112 during the annual Contemporary American Theatre Festival on the local university campus. Food was at the highest level, service was attentive, friendly, and personal. Don't miss the duck if it's on the menu, or the desserts. Owner watches over the kitchen and dining room. We'd rate it best in the region, hands down.
We make Bistro 112 an annual part of our weekend with CATF. The owner and staff are great, and the food was outstanding. We brought our own wine the corkage fee is very modest. Highly recommend the Coquilles St. Jacques and the L'Entrecote ou Poivre. You won't be disappointed! What a wonderful gem in tiny Shepherdstown.
The quality of the food we ordered (the salmon and the duck breast) was quite good. While we did not order from the price fixe menu that appears to be a pretty good deal. The waitress was very patient with the party seated at the next table who wanted lots of special prep for their dishes.
A very nice place. However, in our friend's chicken dish, one piece was horribly tough. And the salmon was overcooked. We liked the beef entre cote, however. Very nice service. The upstairs small room was too, too noisy. I don't know why, but it holds in the noise, and everyone starts yelling, which makes it worse.
This authentic French bistro is unpretentious with delicious food, nice wine, pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service. It is a destination on our summer vacation at the theater festival in Shepherdstown and is worth driving out of our way to dine there any time we're passing within sixty miles of it. The baguette is truly tasty, chocolate mousse to end the meal is authentic and an appropriate European portion. All of the food in between--duck and salmon were our choices this time--were perfectly prepared.
Staff was very welcoming and room is nice, but untenable waiting time for our meals, compounded by the food itself being mediocre equals we cannot recommend. Couldn't complain to Mgmt as no one came by our table to inquire about our meal, including our server
I ate here twice during my stay in Shepherdstown WV for the Contemporary American Theater Festival. I think Bistro 112 is one of the top two restaurants in town. I had a terrific burger at lunch -- with beef raised at a local farm! And for dinner another night, a wonderful duck breast with Moroccan spice rub. Yum! The staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient. Couldn't ask for more. I highly recommend.
Consistently fresh, tasty, French bistro style food; regular menu options offer great choices and the specials are seasonally appropriate and delicious. We love to dine here for lunch or dinner and linger in the airy and inviting spaces. Friendly wait staff too!
