Bistro 112 is a neighborhood French Bistro in the center of historic downtown Shepherdstown. It is a favorite of local residents and a haven for travelers passing through - who enjoy the area for its history, theater, music, biking trails, small shops and river activities. The Bistro, decorated in eclectic art, offers creative French food at affordable prices. Built in 1830, the Bistro has several dining areas: front bar, upstairs salon or outdoor patio under wisteria. We prepare local ingredients into French favorites such as steak au poivre, coquille St Jacques, roasted chicken, salad nicoise, pommes frites, savory & sweet crepes, house made soups and rich desserts. Rooms are available for private events.

Usually my experience here has been good but on Valentine's Day, the food was really sub-par. We rarely eat out much anymore and thought we would treat ourselves on Valentine's Day but were really disappointed after having such a positive experience in the past. It also seemed like perhaps they were not prepared for the volume of reservations- the vegetables and sides were really scant and lacking, like the kitchen was trying to ration them out. Overall incredibly disappointing, especially for what we spent.

The wait staff is friendly and informative. Great place for a romantic dinner. Low noise level for a nice evening. Short wine list with many choices and moderately priced. Appetizer-entres and dessert were perfectly prepared.

Cute French-themed restaurant in the heart of Shepherdstown. Good food and drink selection, with a prix-fixe menu option, also. Dining companion and I had the Steak frites and salmon dish and enjoyed both, along with French Onion Soup and a tomato bisque. All delicious. It's on the pricier end for Shepherdstown, but a nicer upscale spot in town.

We try to have dinner out locally at least once a week. Bistro 112 has become our nice place to go in Shepherdstown and we are here maybe once a month. This is a small place and can get bogged down when busy so we work around the edges. Quiet so we can talk and catch up, attentive table service, interesting drink menu and the food is both very good and a reasonable value. We regularly both order drinks and the Prix Fixe option and then just enjoy the natural pace of the dinner. Everything comes out well timed, hot, and delicious, and that makes for a nice evening. The pepper corn steak is consistently good and most recently the roasted half-chicken was exceptional. We're usually seated early with a reservation by 6:30 and it's a wonderfully unhurried recuperative dining experience. Low carb menu adaptations are gracefully workable here on request .. but my advice is not to pass up the spice cake dessert.

My girlfriend and I were in town for New Year's and needed a place to eat that was close and opened late. Bistro 112 was the answer. The prix fixe menu was great. The price was definitely reasonable for the evening and we left the restaurant with our stomachs satisfied. If I am in the area again, I will definitely come back

My wife and I had an Anniversary dinner at Bistro 112 on a very cold December night. The staff reception was pleasant and the ambiance was warm and attractive. They offered a very nice prefix dinner as well as an enticing menu so it was easy to choose dishes that we liked. The taste and presentation was very good and service was timed properly. Our desserts of chocolate mousse and caramel topped coffee cake were splendid. We will definitely return in the future.

Steak was cold and the salmon was overcooked. We were disappointed because the meal we had there this past summer was incredible. Maybe it was an off night.

Food was not prepared as requested. Asked for the steak to be well done and was still rare even after being sent back once . There was a large party going on upstairs and the servers were tending to their requests and were less attentive to the needs of the guests in the main dining area.

Chose to have Thanksgiving dinner here rather than cooking. We had never been here before and relied on Open Table reviews. It’s a charming little place. Service was friendly and attentive. They offered a prix fix menu at a good price. The mushroom soup starter was heavenly! We each had the turkey entre which tasted just like home. Stuffing was a tad salty for my taste but the rest of the plate was well seasoned. I had the delicious apple pie and ice cream for dessert. I look forward to eating here again as it was a pretty drive for me to get to and very close to elderly family. I’m hoping next time isn’t a holiday so surrounding businesses are open!

Wine was very well priced! Salad Nicoise was pretty good though the vinaigrette was supposedly lemon wasabi but couldn't taste the wasabi. Mussels good, broth very thick and creamy, unusual but good. Ratatouille delicious but served w an unusually large slab of fried eggplant topped w one small piece of mozzarella which was surprising that they took the time to list the mozzarella on the dish description - it was not a characterizing feature. Pasta bolognese was good w hearty pieces of meat. Cute , small place.

So worth it! If you have the opportunity to get the duck, take it. The set menu also was a great value. Food was excellent, and I'd go back just to relax and listen to the music. :) Overall, great find and delicious, delicious food!
