The duck, bread and onion soup were delicious ! The dining area is small so be sure to make a reservation. Very quaint and the music was lovely. It was decorated with Christmas lights which was a nice touch. Will definitely go back next time I’m in the area.
While visiting Shepherdstown we passed by The Press Room and noticed it serves brunch. There seem to be few brunch options in town and the PR’s brunch menu looked limited, but we decided to return the next morning. We were glad we did. The PR’s official brunch menu, while including some nice options, is deceiving - in a good way. When our server arrived, we were surprised to find that the list of daily specials rivaled the menu items - and all sounded great. The food itself also impressed. The portions were generous. And the service was friendly and attentive. So glad we chose PR!
This was our second visit to Bistro 112 and it won't be our last. What a great find in Shepherdstown. You feel as though you are in a small quaint restaurant in the French countryside. Service is excellent and the food is superb. We really enjoy this cozy restaurant and look forward to visiting again. Would absolutely recommend it to folks visiting Shepherdstown.
This was the first time that we have been to the bistro and it was a perfect dinner and experience in every way! I can hardly wait to go back!
Perfect! Presentation, service, food. If you are looking for a special dining experience or a place to visit regularly, you won’t regret choosing Bistro. I’m quite the critic. (If a server addresses my party as “you guys”, the experience is soured.) So I can tell you that the staff is well trained and the food is as appealing to the eye as it is delicious - meeting my expectations for a lovely outing at Bistro. Bon Appetit.
This place felt as if I was dining at my friend’s home. Very comfy, quaint, quiet. I loved the old building. The crispy chicken sandwich on the specials menu was GREAT! The waitress was funny and congenial. Only down side was it took awhile for our entrees to arrive. Would highly recommend nonetheless!!
My wife and I went for date night at Bistro 112. I had been wanting to go here for quite awhile, and it was a very enjoyable experience. Appetizer, the house-made Pate, was very good. Scallops, which I had for my entrée, were amazing! My wife's steak, with peppercorn cream sauce was also great! Side items with entrées seemed not quite up to par, and rice was bland and slightly undercooked. Desert was spectacular! My wife had a traditional vanilla Crème Brulee, and I had the Chocolate Mousse, both with Cappuccino. Serving sizes were perfect, and absolutely delicious.
Overall, was a great meal and a fantastic evening. Would definitely recommend to a friend or family.
While visiting Shepherdstown, we dined there with a cousin and spouse. I had hanger steak which was a little tough but tasty and the fries were good. My wife had salmon and liked it although she said that the potatoes that came with it were more like chips.
Went there for my boyfriend's birthday. The food was really good and it is in the cute town of Shepherdstown, WV. The only criticism I had was we had reservations at 6:45, because it was a week night they started shutting down early because no one was coming in but closing time was 9 pm. I felt a little rushed. The other was it was cold. Definitely, worth it though, I would go back.
We had excellent food and service. The pate and charcuterie were wonderful. We found one of our favorite French wineries on the wine list. When you go, don't miss the duck or the mussels!
Been here twice before and it was great. But this time the best I can say is it was OK; especially with a $95 at the end of the night. The food wasn’t bad, but I think I could have gotten the same quality and taste at a couple other restaurants in town for less. I did feel the service was a little slow. I understand they aren’t trying to rush like other restaurants, but getting drinks and clearing dishes should be quicker than it was.
Very nice. Great food and service. My only complaint was the comfort of the chairs.
Great food and ambience.
Always honor our requested table.
Accomodate special diets.
Great food. My husband had the duck and I had the chicken. The Brussels sprout were amazing.
Wonderful experience from the time we were greeted.
Excellent service and outstanding food.
Restaurant staff could not have been nicer.
Relaxed atmosphere, casual dress, excellent food, great dessert ... what more could one want!!
This was an outstanding small restaurant with French style cooking which I found to be excellent as well as expressed by my French friend. We had the specialty beef, " l'entrecote au poivre vert", on the fixed price menu and would recommend this to anyone who has a love of beef cooked in the French style. My first course was French onion soup and I don't think I have ever had onion soup any better including in France.
Consistently top notch
The duck main course was amazing!!!!
Bistro 112 remains one of our favorite spots for lunch on Friday afternoons (would be Mon. - Thur., too, but they're not open then). Menu is pleasantly diverse bistro fare with a couple surprises. Wonderfully relaxed environment. The people at Bistro 112 really make the place. Warm, friendly, charming and attentive service. Always a pleasure to see one of the outstanding folks when entering the restaurant. On this recent visit, Shannon took meticulous care of us, despite a full house. I was treated to a tasty special: the crispy fish sandwich; my wife enjoyed her French Dip, as always. Merci, Bistro 112!
Very good food, service a little slow, but we weren’t in a rush so enjoyed our experience. Why charming and cozy atmosphere. Would go back!
I’ve had the pleasure of dining here a few times, and each time, the food and service were excellent. This most recent outing I had the blackened duck breast which was perfectly cooked to a tender medium rare, and the blackened spices didn’t overpower the tasty duck but rather complemented it extremely well. The service staff were all exceptionally pleasant and helpful throughout our meal. I would definitely recommend again
Great experience. The duck was perfect. Great friendly service. There was no problem bringing our 3 month old.
Exceptional dishes. Many local and seasonal inclusions. Simply delicious any dish any time of the day!
Charming atmosphere. Simple menu without too many items. I had a delicious roast rack of lamb and a wonderful wine. The frites are the best!
AS always a great restaurant in a creative space.
Food excellence on display and a great value.
Special dinner with friends. Service was outstanding. Server knowledgeable and attentive. Appetizers, salad and entrees all come out at the appropriate time, and together. (Kudos to the kitchen.) And the food is delicious!
We had the salmon and the steak au poivre. All around, a good experience.
Best food in town. Innovative menu and great beer selection. Super friendly staff and very accommodating to our doggies. Can't wait to visit again!
Always a pleasure to dine at Bistro 112.
Always a treat! Excellent service. Well paced. The food as always was delicious. The menu hasn’t changed much in the 10 years we’ve been going to Bistro 112. Always good!
We love Bistro 112 and Deb Tucker, the owner. The $37 prix fixe menu is amazing, and lots of very affordable and delicious wine options. Highly recommend the L'entrecote aux poivre! And my wife loved the salad with rare ahi tuna.
We go to Bistro 112 each time we go to Shepherdstown. We think that it is a must go to place. The only thing that makes it less than a five is the fact that the fixed price menu has not changed in a very long time. The quality and price are good, but it would be nice to see new things for the next time we eat there.
We have eaten at Bistro 112 at least once per year for the past 4-5 years while attending the Contemporary American Theater Festival. The food is consistently good and so is the service. They definitely know how to handle the influx of visitors attending the festival so you can relax, enjoy your dinner, and have confidence you will get to the show on time.
Great atmosphere and service, but don't expect Washington or Baltimore French cuisine. Then again, it's in Shepherdstown and it's probably the best restaurant in the area. Don't set your expectations too high and you won't be disappointed.
Very good ambience, but service was very slow and the food just OK. It was very expensive and I feel not worth the cost. If you want a nice ambience and money is no object, then OK. But I think it's overrated.
Always a good experience dining herr
Felt very lucky to get a reservation on Saturday night during the CATF festival. Although the duck was very tempting and my companion got that, I decided the salad Nicoise was more appropriate for the hot weather and it was excellent. Came without olives as I had requested. The creme brûlée for dessert was an excellent finishing touch. Everyone is very friendly and seems to really want to be sure you are having a good experience.
Excellent meal with good service. The duck was superb. Definitely worth a try.
Our favorite restaurant in Shepardstown!
Love their bread!
