Bistecca Italian Steakhouse & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
Had a family birthday. Service was slow. Waiter appeared only to bring food.
Water was not replenished.
Daughter’s steak was dry and manager told her she order the wrong cut. Another person at our table had same steak and was ok. You can as a manager apologize for the issue, but don’t tell your customer that they ordered the wrong steak.
Waiter made the special dessert without asking if it was ok, just assumed( it was not charged and not what the Birthday people wanted).
Overall not the best experience at this restaurant.
Most of the other dishes were either good or very good.
Food was excellent, although on the pricey end. Service was okay, but very slow. Our reservation was at 6 pm on a Monday night and our main course was finally served at 7:30 pm. The waiter would disappear on us, then someone else would serve or inquire, then waiter would reappear??? We didn't order dessert because no came back to us for some time, so decided we had sat long enough.
Wine was a bit of a let down. Service was worthy of accommodation and food was decent. Almost chipped my tooth on a chunk of bone in my ribeye. Supposed to be the top cut and size they offer. Wasn’t that impressive and could have been trimmed and better prepared in my opinion.
Beautiful ambiance. Great manager; very nice. Our waitress seemed new as she had to keep leaving to get answers to our questions..but that's ok..everyone is new at one time or another.
The reason we won't return is what happened with our drinks.
We have never been served Caesars that are diluted before. You could actually see through the drink. We thought that odd. They didn't taste like a typical Caesar. No flavor, very watery.
When asked how our drinks we're, we mentioned that, and the waiter offered new drinks. We ordered a rye & coke and a rye & ginger ale. We waited 20 min for this. We thought they forgot.
Both drinks came totally flat. Not one bubble. We didn't complain because we didnt want to wait for another drink. We just left afterwards not impressed. Maybe the bartender just had a bad night. I would suggest to just stick to the wines.
Caesar salad was very fishy and soggy from heavy anchovies and dressing. The steak was excellent though.
Don't think we'll go back.
Atmosphere was great. Loved the Mussels, the jalapeno in the Calamari was awesome. I particularly loved the martinis. I had the Char and it was DEADLY. My husband's steak was a little off from what he was expecting, but the restaurant manager, and staff bent over backwards to try and make it up to him, so to me, that is absolutely worth noting because their customer service was definitely top shelf. No doubt about it. Next time I'd love to try their pasta.
Our sever, I really wish I had gotten his name, was really attentive and personable. Thank you!
Tasty food, excellent service, and friendly atmosphere. Ordered Caesar salad but forgot to specify the unroasted romaine lettuce version. The waiter, Glenn, brought us the roasted version. We apologized for not being specific. He apologized for not double checking. Took the roasted version back and got us our preferred type. Classy.
The atmosphere was amazing, we went on thanksgiving Monday and it wasn’t too busy.
Our servers( sorry names elude me) were the best I have experienced for a long while, the appetizers, salad and beef rib Ravioli were spectacular, I had the New York Steak and it was Ok.
The Flambé desert was delicious and prepared at our table, they even comped it.
My daughter had recommended Bistecca as she has gone a couple times
I would recommend to others. I would go back just for they way we were treated by staff alone.
We had a great Anniversary Dinner.
Love Italian food so this was a good choice. The service was excellent and the ambiance was great. We were here for a get together with friends so this place was perfect. It was quiet, there were no children, nice place for adults, able to hold a relaxed conversation. Will definitely come back and will definitely refer friends and family.
We enjoyed the evening. The food and service were absolutely superb. The quinoa salad was very tasty; it had the right accents. Both the lamb and Arctic char were done to perfection. The service by Deborah exceeded expectations; it was most professional.
The lighting at our table was a bit low. Besides being able to read the menu, diners would also like to easily identify the contents of what they are served.
We liked the comfortable , quiet, and relaxed atmosphere; we would return without hesitation.
Very enjoyable evening. Delicious food and a great wine suggestion from our waiter. Reasonably priced. Love the little bites. The mushroom risotto was excellent, especially with the poached egg on top. One in our group had the flat iron steak and loved it. Great service.
Celebrated a 38 yr wedding anniversary Fri evening. The food was outstanding! We have eaten here several times in the past as we live close by. Have had several business dinners here as well with out of town associates and has always been well received. My wife had the pork tenderloin and I had the flank steak on recommendation from our server Gary. Gary was both knowledgeable and personable and helped make it a great evening! He made several great suggestions on wine, food that were excellent. All around great experience!
The only negatives (please don't get upset out there!) of the evening was there were some noisy kids and crying babies. There were also a number of patrons quite poorly dressed ( shorts, ball caps, torn jeans etc) When you are out for a special evening in a fairly upscale restaurant you would hope people would dress a bit better!
Excellent restaurant that I would highly recommend!
We were looking for a restaurant that was open for dinner on Labour Day, as that is a special day for us. We made the long 25 minute drive to south Edmonton and we were not disappointed. The regular menu as well as the mushroom festival menu were both available and the varied choices made it difficult to choose. We both had appetizers and main courses which filled us so that we could not have attempted dessert. All four dishes were well prepared, well-described in the menu and by the server and delicious.
The service was excellent although there was a bit of a delay getting the bill due to set up for a large group the next day. Service, other than that was attentive and although there were a few other people in the room, it was quiet and good for conversation.
This is a restaurant that values ambiance, great wine and serving excellent Italian food and steaks.
Everything was fantastic, and we tried it all! From the wonderful warm bread with garlic dipping oil to the fantastic desserts and everything in between. Service was impeccable - friendly and perfectly timed without being overbearing. This was our first time at Bistecca - it's been on my list for a while as we've always enjoyed Sorrentino's, and we will definitely be back.
Welcoming atmosphere - very comfortable restaurant. Appetizers - bruschetta, prawns, & calamari were superb. The lamb shank, veal, chicken, and steaks were a "hit"!! The tiramisu and creme brulee were popular. Food was wonderful - very tasty & presentation was appealing. Deborah was engaging, helpful & responded well to everyone's needs - really led to an enjoyable dining experience!
