Bistecca Italian Steakhouse & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
We tried Bistecca for the first time for my wife's birthday on the weekend and had a wonderful time. The food and atmosphere were great but the service we received was what really made our night. We will definitely be returning and I would I would absolutely recommend Bistecca for a great night out.
Service was very good, ambiance is nice, however the food lacked taste. It wasn't bad, but didn't match the ambiance, service or other rating I've read about it. I had the Veal Scaloppini, my wife had stuffed chicken (veggies were cold). Over all not likely to return because of it's location. We have a condo downtown.
I enjoyed almost everything at Bistecca. This is my second trip to the restaurant and all the appetizers were excellent. My 3 companions’ meals of veal, seafood and lamb shank were said to be excellent and the short rib ravioli was amazing. However I didn’t rate it 5 stars as my prawn spaghettini was just way too salty - both the prawns AND the spaghetti sauce. I could tell all was well prepared but I think the chef tripped when preparing the prawns and sauce and dumped half a cup of salt into it. Not pleasant. Service was slow to start but after they came to the table after waiting a good ten minutes after seating, service was prompt and responsive.
I will go back - too many great things to ignore.
Service was fast and all of the staff were extremely attentive & professional. Our group of 3 consisted of myself, my husband, and our 9 year old daughter. We ordered cocktails, several Appies, Bison Steak, Filet Mignon, Spaghetti w/ meatsauce, plus 2 Desserts to share. The food was Outstanding. The Meatballs w/ 4 cheese Sauce, Garlic/Onion Soup, Beef Carpaccio, and the Filet Mignon were especially delicious. We would return again just for the Meatball Appetizer! Amazing.❤️ The price point is fairly high but the nice portions, high quality and impeccable service came close to matching the price tag at our Evenings end. If I had to comment on anything to improve upon , it would just be to season the Steaks with something more flavorful. They were both tender and cooked perfectly but without the additional sauce I ordered and the mushrooms, they both would have been a tad bland to stand on their own.
A very nice higher end restaurant with a fusion of Italian and beef (lot of beef!) specialties. Although, that said, the restaurant also features nice fish, duck, pork and other offerings. Service was good, reasonably attentive without hanging over the table. Good bar selection, even a decent amount of beers on tap.
The food was great but our waitress was terrible. We waited an hour inbetween appetizers and our pasta course without her coming by at all to apologize or get us new drinks. Finally our entrees arrived before the pasta which was fine because we were hungry. But I had ordered the ribeye and had to struggle for 5 min with a butter knife before we asked a passing waitress (not ours) for a steak knife. Then as we were halfway through our entrees they brought the pasta we had ordered. All the while we had empty glasses and never once were asked if we wanted new drinks. After we finished eating we timed how long it took the waitress to clear our plates and bring the bill.....23 min. So we defiantly weren’t staying for dessert we didn’t have time to wait another hour.
Overall food was great would love to go back but would hate to have terrible service again.
The staff was all very friendly however we were ignored while at the bar waiting for our table.. I got a cut on my hand from the chair and the waitress bandaged me up and the manager apologized, not their fault but still put a bit of a damper on the evening.
Second time visit at Bistecca. Spur of the moment date night dinner while we were in the area. Absolutely fabulous dinner from beginning to end. Front hostess and coat check was smooth and friendly. Great service with helpful suggestions while ordering. Wine glass regularly topped up. To top it off the meal tasted wonderfully! Perfect evening see you again!
It's a great restaurant, food And service is excellent, our only problem was that when we arrived they says we had cancelled the reservation, which we didn't do. We had cancelled the original December 8 reservation and rebooked for the 30th, so some miscommunication but they had a table thank goodness.
Since the last time we visited Bistecca a couple years ago, the quality and taste of the food is consistent. Light and flavorful without overpowering. The three of us girls ordered 2 appetizers and 3 plates of pasta. Pasta was well made but the surprising factor was the server did not offer the half size option. Which was not out of the ordinary but was understood by the 3rd maitre’d that the leftover is meant for lunch for next day so the expectation is to sell by large plates. We were so full we were unable to enjoy desserts. Big portions but would’ve been 5 star experience if it was well rounded.
Overall, our dinner was enjoyable. It was a quieter evening so the ambience was nice for a business appreciation dinner that was being held. The food was good to very good, but not off the charts by any means. Our server was efficient, but had almost a cold element to her in her efficiency. It wasn't bad service, just not what I would call friendly.
Excellent food and service. The staff are attentive, efficient, friendly, but not too friendly. We took advantage of the Bring Your Own Wine Wednesday. We brought our own good wine and spent more on the main meal and dessert. Good food plus good conversation equals a splendid experience.
I had not been to Bistecca in years but I will not wait that long until I go again. I had the daily fish special which was excellent. If you want a restaurant where the waiters are exceptional with good quality food and where you can actually hear your dinner companions this is the perfect place. Keep up the good work Bistecca
