Bistecca Fiorentina - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
We had two groups with Open Table reservations at this restaurant for 9/30, one of which was made the day we were dining. Received Open Table confirmations as late as that afternoon. When we got there, found that the restaurant was shut down, locked up ( and had been closed for at least a week, per a bartender at another restaurant.). How can you accept - and confirm - reservations to a shut down restaurant? What use is it to have plans confirmed if you're not communicating with the restaurant? We were in NYC just for the day; this was disappointing and disruptive to a nice day.
Although I received confirmation via email from Open Table, we arrived for our 6 o'clock time slot & the restaurant was CLOSED!
I was embarrassed as I made the reservations & we were in Time Square with tickets for Bette Midler in Hello Dolly that couldn't be altered.
We scrambled to get in to another local spot to eat before the show. I'm disappointed to see that Open Table confirmed our table twice & then this. 😖
My only complaint was that I requested 3 different bottles of reasonably priced wine (under $40) and none were in stock. The waiter came back with a savignon blanc price at $55 which was not comparable so I ended up with a mediocre pinot grigio. The food was excellent.
We have eaten here many times, mostly pre/post theater. We usually order from the Prix Fixe menu. Very good value, and the food is first rate. The service was attentive but not intrusive. We all ordered pasta dishes; mine was the penne amatriciana which was excellent with a slight "kick" to it. The wines were very good. Desserts were also excellent. It has the ambiance of a typical New York restaurant which works for me. Pleasant place with good food and value.
Whenever in the city I look forward to having a meal at this restaurant. The food is good and friendly service. The waiters ask if you are in to see a show. If that is the case, they serve you in a timely manner! I already am looking forward to my next visit!
Fiorentina also has a cozy bar if you want to stop by for a drink!
Very sweet NYC Italian restaurant with an emphasis on steak/meat (the name of the place means "meat flower") but we stuck to the homemade pasta because of cost. This is not an inexpensive place. For four of us, two glasses of wine, salads, oysters and four pasta dishes, mid $200s.
The lobster ravioli was the winner. The porcini risotto, so fragrant and tasty. The pappardelle was a disappointment...lacked flavor. The bread is delicious as was the bruschetta pre meal. Yum!
The service was very good.
They were very nice with accommodating us but my daughters steak while she asked for it med well the outside was burnt and very dry. I had the flank steak and it did not taste very fresh and in fact It caused me serious intestinal problems. IF we didn't have to make a show we would have send both meals back(in hind sight we should have). The ambience and staff were very lovely!
I love the ambiance of Bistecca. I had not dined there for a very long time and it was not disappointing and everything I remembered. The wait staff was extremely attentive and we were not rushed! The grilled polenta with gorgonzola appetite was the perfect size and cooked to perfection. The cheese was not overbearing. The ribeye steak was tender, juicy, and grilled just right with delicate juices. I love this restaurant for its Tuscan ambiance. The chocolate cake was moist and worth every caloric bite. Highly recommend.
Pre holiday and a quiet Thursday----Fernando an excellent server and the food was exceptional .
The previous reviews on Open Table provided the help to select this restaurant , I did work in the area and quite familiar, however, I tend to stick to the restaurants known. My assistant found this restaurant on "restaurant row" and WOW!
Our first experience at this restaurant was wonderful! We were so excited to try it again during our visit to the city with our grandson. We were the only customers for the first half of our dining so you would think the staff would be excited to serve us. They were almost rude!!
The food was really good and we enjoyed to be able to sit outside in this wonderful street. The service was so so. The waiters were very nice and very chatty (a bit too much for Our taste) But unfortunately it couldn't make up for things not coming at the same time and too late (like the wine) . It was especially disappointing ,as we were the only customers in the restaurant and there were 3 waiters. We however did enjoy it overall. Tip: if you don't want a crowd in the restaurant, make a booking after the theater-crowd has left at 19h30.
We were told by a few friends to try this steak place and were not disappointed. Great steak, the 32 oz porterhouse was delicious as was the 10 oz filet. Service was very good and house chianti wine was good as well. People were very personable and welcoming.
Went for a pre-theater dinner on the Saturday evening of Memorial Day Weekend. Quick attentive staff brought us bread, drinks and food without feeling rushed. Food was presented beautifully and prepared just as ordered. Cannot recommend highly enough if you are looking for quality Tuscan style Italian food at fair prices. You can not go wrong with any of their steak specialties or the prosciutto appetizer.
We had a change of plans and found Bistecca Fiorentina on open table. We were able to get a reservation for the following night before a show. The food was great, the service spectacular, and the prices very reasonable. I would definitely return or recommend it to anyone.
I was disappointed by the restaurant. My first server seemed disinterested. My second server was better. The meal was pretty good. I had grilled octopus and calamari over greens to start and a veal scallopini entree. The cheese/cream sauce was delicious. There's no bartender on Tuesday so I would skip that day. And the bread they served me was stale.
We went after the theater. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We chose the prix fix menu and it was reasonably priced with a good variety. We had a glass of wine each. During dinner our waiter brought us another and it was complimentary! The bartender chatted with us. We were not rushed. I had chicken and shrimp scampi which was very tender. My friend had the veal which she enjoyed. An ideal spot for pre post theater.
Went for Mother's Day and was the only table seated for the entire duration! This is red flag #1. Being the only table you would have thought the service to be overly attentive... nope. Being the only table you would have thought the food especially their steak would have been perfect... nope! Have been to Tuscany and had great steaks in Florence my expectations were high walking in. The steak was over cooked and not flavorful at all! I would have preferred outback to this place.
