BISTECCA – An Italian Steakhouse (formerly The Grotto)
Great meal and great service.
Over the years we have found Bistecca to serve consistently very good food that is served in quantities that don't call for a "take-home" box (in our opinion that is a good thing). Their desserts could use a little less emphasis on chocolate but they're beautiful and delicious. It is a good place for conversation and feels cool on a hot day. The Osso Bucco is wonderful.
We had a wonderful dinner tonight. I had the red snapper and I can tell you that I’ve never had red snapper this good in my life. My wife had the scallops and love them. The desserts were spectacular and we will be back again soon
Always good food, good cocktails, good service, and suitable for any occasion.
Not much to say other than go there. You won’t be disappointed. Eddie rocked it.
Same excellent food and service we expect from Bistecca.
Great food and even better service. Everything was great from the drinks to apps and dinner. This is our new favorite restaurant and we can't wait to go back.
took my girlfriend for her birthday! We had an excellent experience & food was outstanding.
Fabulous dinner! So many selections and even the seafood was fresh! So hard to get plump, fresh shrimp in this area. Elegant presentation and the desserts were the perfect end No to the meal.
The food was excellent the ambience was great ! I do feel like it was slightly higher price than expected but most things are these days! We ordered the Father’s Day special which was supposed to come with dessert so according to the menu however it did not. That being said we had the halibut which was fantastic and my son (age10) the Steak Salvervo as a dinner which he loved! My husband and daughter both also had steak which was cooked to perfection according to their standards!
I took my husband there for Father’s Day we had a great time as usual.
Fathers’ Day brunch
This place is really wonderful. We went for Fathers Day lunch and the menu was already decided upon arrival. We were shown to our table immediately and the salad was brought out about two minutes later. Each course was very quick and while it was very delicious and well presented, we felt rushed. We arrived at 11:30 and were done a little after 12:00. While we do not usually take very long at meals, this was a special occasion and we felt like we were being rushed out the door. A little over 30 minutes for four courses seems a bit fast.
We will return again, hopefully next time we have a little while to actually enjoy the meal.
It is always a wonderful dining experience every time we go to Bistecca restaurant!! Morris and his team create works of art with their food presentation and simply delicious!!
This was our first time here and we loved it! We had a doubled date with close friends and we were very impressed! The bar drinks were perfect...martinis filled properly to the rim, where you have to take your first sip while it's on the table...that's how martinis should be done!! The food was all unique and fantastic! The ambiance was quiet and peaceful, perfect for a romantic date night, or catching up with friends. All in all a great experience, and we will certainly return! :0)
Enjoyed a great meal and good service.
For a casual white table cloth restaurant it was top shelf.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Bistecca last Saturday evening. The food was absolutely delicious and the complimentary dessert was amazing. The service was excellent too. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It's by far the best restaurant in the Lewisville, Highland Village, and Flower Mound area.
BISTECCA never fails!!! The food and service can't be beat!! Starting with the delectable Steak Salerno and ending with the sinfully delicious Grotto Pecan Twill, everything was on point!! Thank you for another fabulous dining experience!!!
Excellent meal. Delightful experience. All enjoyed their selections very much. Great cocktails and wine menu. Our server was personable and knew his menu. Chef Salerno came out and greeted his diners which was a pleasant surprise and not something you see every day. It is not an inexpensive night out, but for a special occasion it is hard to beat. A neighborhood jewel.
Had a wonderful meal with great service and food for our anniversary. Along with a complimentary dessert. Great atmosphere chef went around and talked to most tables. Seems like everyone knows everyone there which was nice.
Best of Denton County Kick off party. Celebrating with friends.
As always, the service was superb, the ambiance perfect, and the food exquisite.
Fantastic food! Lousy ambiance. It's WAY too loud (read: loud like Chuck-E-Cheese) and the tables are jammed together. Throughout dinner, I had to contend with the a** of the waiter from the next table every time he had to squeeze in to attend to the couple next to us. Having the waiter's butt in my face was not my idea of fun. Tips:
1. Spread the tables out.
2. Don't hurry us through dinner next time.
3. Teach the young-thing waitress to properly say Grand Marnier (French)...she said Grand Merner (rhymes with burner). Of course, this was a source of amusement for the rest of dinner.
4. This really isn't your fault, but damn people, this isn't a freakin' sports bar....shut the hell up.
Once again, the food was wonderful and we will definitely be back. Next time, however, it will be during the week when, hopefully, it's a lot quieter.
As always, Bistecca (The Grotto) is one of our all-time favorite restaurants. For those who live nearby, we know it's a hidden gem of a high quality dining tucked into a small surburban shopping strip. You'd never guess from the outside the amazing chef-inspired cuisine you'll find on the inside. Worth the drive and SO perfect for special occasions!!
First time guests (trying something new) and we WILL be back!
Just a bit noisy as their was a party in the back. Our server was great and the food was wonderful
It was a nice spring evening and we dined outside with all the lit trees and it was really a lovely !
My wife and I are at Bistecca two weeks ago and it was a great experience.
The staff was great, service was excellent and the food was excellent.
We went again Saturday evening and there were four of us.
The three others enjoyed their meal even though our food did not come out together.
My experience unfortunately was not so good.
I ordered the bone in rib eye $49.50.
I would expect at that price that it should be on par with the big name steakhouses, it was not.
I ordered it medium well very little pink. I know this is not the preferred cooking temperature for a chef but that is the way I like it.
I am guessing that is why the steak came out and was only about a quarter of and inch thick but what made it worse is that it was medium and pink all the way through.
I didn’t send it back because as I said earlier our food did not arrive at the same time so if I sent it back I would be eating alone. I also asked for no potato and since they had asparagus and spinach and I don’t like asparagus I asked for double spinach. Server said no problem.
Plate came with order of asparagus and order of spinach.
Maybe an off night because it was a busy Saturday night but no excuse for the rib eye size and quality and being cooked wrong.
Outstanding in every way! The crab cakes and filet specials were terrific! Our server Shelby went out of her way to make the evening a delight! Thank you...
The pasta in friends scallops was tough. Salmon was good, the service was excellent. The Restaurant has and old smell to it. Going in to the bar made me think of a dark secret place having to pass through the curtains. Will not be my first choice for dinner.
The menu has alot of selection for seafood which is my fave. The waiter was knowledgeable but not fast. There were times we waited for drinks and bread refill. It did not seem that busy so this was annoying to me. But we will definitely go back!
Birthday celebration. We started with the Quail bullet appetizer which was very flavorful. The she-crab soup was very good. Then our entrees were steak and sea bass. Excellent. Enjoyed every moment.
My wife and I had a very nice dinner at Bistecca the other evening.
We were greeted and seated immediately and even the busses were very friendly.
The food we ordered was cooked the way we requested and was excellent !
They were very accommodating with any changes or requests we had.
We will definitely go back.
Great people, great food, very friendly!!! Would recommend to anyone
Sat outdoors on a perfect evening. Service & food were excellent. Morris Salerno was once again at his best. Who needs to go 15 or 30 miles to enjoy a great restaurant?
Bistecca is a great restaurant tucked away in Highland Village. The menu selections are excellent and the She Crab Soup is to die for. It has become a favorite for date night dinners as well as an occasional business dinner.
Absolutely a memorable anniversary dinner! Food and service were exceptional....
