We loved Bistango! Everything was wonderful!
The Pork Loin was absolutely wonderful. Small place and menu but so well-curated. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Bistango is a hidden gem which was recommended to me about six months ago. I eat there almost once a week either for lunch, dinner or brunch on the weekends. The food is delicious and their service is outstanding. The staff genuinely cares about ensuring the food and service exceeds your expectation. They have many wonderful gluten free options which I truly appreciate since I have celiac disease. My company will be hosting a luncheon for our customers at Bistango's in the month of April. I am confident it will be a great success!
Food is always amazing!!! We love going to bistango every time we come into the city!!!! Delicious ❤️
Our favorite neighborhood spot, the food is good and the service is very efficient.
Fantastic gluten free options from start to finish! Attentive servers make sure your food is delivered hot and in a timely manner. I visit every time I am in NY.
Consistently excellent food and service. It’s become our go to neighborhood hangout.
Wonderful restaurant, conveniently located, serving above average food in a very pleasant atmosphere. The staff is professional and charming & the "regulars" are friendly. Sit at the bar & youre certain to make new friends!
A great place to go back to often.
The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and super attentive. We had a great time and would highly recommend this restaurant.
Refreshing, creative but not pleased when having to wait 20+ minutes with reservation in place.
We got the burrata appetizer, lobster and shrimp special, and chicken parm - all so delicious! Cozy atmosphere with friendly, quick service. Will definitely return on our next trip!
Bistango is great. The food is great. The people are great. Everyone is very attentive to dietary needs. This has been my go-to special occasion place for years now and they never disappoint!
Delightful as always. Great menu. Great service. Lots of familiar faces among the wait staff and the patrons. Delicious food at a reasonable price. Always a treat.
A perfect Valentine and 25th Wedding Anniversary meal. Had 2 apps - artichokes and burrata very good. The Osso Buco and pork dinners were exceptionally seasoned and tender. Wine list very well thought out and most bottles were about $35.00. Finally deserts lemon tart and a gooey chocolate confection both just right.
Booked this restaurant because it had good reviews on tripadvisor/Google (close to 4.5). However I must say the dining experience was a bit plain. When the staff don't speak italian at what is supposed to be an Italian restaurant that's always a bad sign, and waiter didnt really recognise one of the wines, even though service was ok. Bathrooms pretty nasty.
Food was edible but really nothing special. Pasta was over cooked and you'd have to be a truffle swine to find a scent of truffles in the truffle risotto. The bread that goes with the food was boring and felt like something bought over the counter in the supermarket at best, otherwise that is something that can lift a dining experience. Spices were ok, but as mentioned on the truffle risotto substandard. Had the lava cake for dessert and again, plain experience. Edible but nothing to write home about.
A few days earlier my wife took me for my birthday celebration to a fancier (and pricier) italian but that was so worth it. The taste difference and dining experience was WORLDS apart, for maybe a 50% more expensive bill. AId rather take 2 of those than 3 of this bistango type restaurants.
I very rarely write reviews but I take the time because I felt that the quality is far below the current rating. Overall 3.0/5.0 and then I'm on the generous side.
I'm lucky my dining experience wasn't on a very important occasion. I still left feeling ashamed and apologized to my company for a lousy pick. If it was a date night or birthday or "x"-yrs of dating/marriage I would have regretted it for the whole year and felt I really had to compensate.
Don't think this place is worth going to, pick a better place or even another place in the same price range - there are better dining experiences to be had.
The food and service was excellent. Nice small local restaurant !
As always, Bistango did not disappoint. We had the sautéed calamari appetizer, cavatelli (with sausage, spinach and hot cherry peppers) and the pasta special with lobster, scallops, shrimp in a fradiavolo sauce.
All were outstanding. And the cheesecake for desert with a nice port wine was great!
Keep it up Bistango. Thanks!
Fantastic service and the food is excellent!! Sat at the bar both times and had a wonderful time!
They welcomed me warmly even though I am from the West Side - not even Upper West Side - but Midtown!
Still a good neighborhood joint. Portions were a little small for the price but left feeling full
The staff at this great place in combo with the food is incredible!!
Happy to have found this gem relatively close to the AMC Kip's Bay. Delicious burrata and chicken entree + tried a spiced hard cider from Sweden which was excellent. Service was great too.
My friends and I don’t normally go to this neighborhood for dining and when I booked this restaurant, they had never heard of it. They were raving about the food, service and the cozy environment by the end of the evening. It was a great dining experience.
I will go back again and I will reccommend to friends when they are looking for a “hidden gem”
We have been here a number of times. The food never disappoints. Always delicious!
On a busy Saturday night we were able to get a table through Open Table just a few hours in advance. The restaurant didn’t disappoint with delicious Italian food made with fresh ingredients and tasty seasonings. The gluten free options were numerous. Service was attentive. Overall a high recommendation.
Love this restaurant! Great for gluten-free diners. The g-f is delicious. The g-f pizette is outstanding! Service is great and prices are good. I love taking friends here - they are always so impressed and delighted!
The food and service was great.
Enjoyable for and friendly eatery. Delicious food and great selections.
Great food and great service. And awesome spot to go for any gluten free person who misses Italian food.
Even though they've opened a 2nd location uptown, we keep going back to the 29th street location for the baby artichokes in lemon. Wonderful dish!
We've been dining here about 6 years, and it's nice to see some familiar faces on the staff for that entire time. Speaks well of the owner.
Food was good and noise level in the restaurant was perfect - small enough that it was not too noisy, and just enough energy to be "fun." The cocktails were ok - not great, but not terrible. Dessert was delicious - we ordered a few for the table and shared, and they were all good. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It is a bit pricier than similar other restaurants in Manhattan.
Just a random night out for us. The service was amazing. The food. Amazing. I would recommend this place for anyone. Especially those with food allergies.
We go a few times a year and it never disappoints. There are so many GF dessert options we always order more than what we need to try something new. We loved the new lemon tart.
Great food, excellent service, and absolutely attentive to gluten free needs. Everything we had for dinner was wonderful, from the gf bread and ravioli to the tiramisu, also gf. Will be back whenever we're in NYC.
Good italian food. Small place, no place to wait for your table.
The service was quite good. The cauliflower soup was excellent as well as the chicken parm.
Cozy restaurant that allowed for conversation in a relaxed setting. Wine list was adequate and
not over priced, same said for the food. Would entertain customers there with no qualms.
Worth a try.
Enjoyed dinner here for Christmas Eve. The food was delicious, the restaurant was packed and lively. The vibe was casual to dressy casual, so we didn't feel out of place in jeans, but it was still a very nice spot if you did want to dress it up a notch. It seemed to only be staffed by one waiter, he was hustling! If that happens for you, have a glass of wine and enjoy the slight wait for them to take your order...the food is worth it (at least for us!).
First time dining here, went for Christmas Eve dinner. Food was excellent. Waitstaff was extremely knowledgeable about celiac and gluten issues. Gluten free bread and garlic olive oil, and the gf ravioli, was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Appetizers are generous portions, dinners are smaller portions, perfect in my opinion. Calamari appetizer was the best I’ve ever had. And they gave us an after dinner drink on the house for the holiday.
Always excellent food with great attention to anyone with a food allergy. Highly recommend
Food was amazing as always!!!!!
Finding a restaurant where I can enjoy delicious gluten free food AND my family can enjoy the same foods that are not gluten free is SO appreciated. Everything was delicious and we all enjoyed our meals.
