Food was excellent. Great gluten free options. Service was a bit slow.
Expected far more given the reviews. Certainly not fine dining. Our waiter was excellent. The food was decent but not great. The atmosphere was horrendous. The place felt like a cafeteria. It was extremely noisy despite the fact that it was only half full. They were blasting music from the late 70's early '80s like Journey.
Conveniently located in Midtown, Bistango consistently provides quiet dining in a well appointed setting. Meals are excellent in terms of taste and presentation. Service is on point.
Arrived for dinner on or about 8:30 pm. Got seated within a few minutes. After being seated for about 30 minutes we received water and menus. After about 20 minutes, we put in our drink and appetizer choices. The point is the service was terrible, however, there seemed only to be " 1" for both interior and exterior dining venues. This is purely unacceptable for a nice place with good food, to go "on the cheap" for not having help on Friday evening for dinner.
We had to wait over 30 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. The food was definitely not as good as at the other Bistango location. In the future, we’ll go back to Bistango on 29th St.
It was amazing. Our waiter was the best and the food was phenomenal.
A very nice and comfortable venue, with great servce and delicious menu.
I was recently in New York for work, and had to find a great place that served gluten-free food for 3 people with celiac...last minute! Thanks to the power of Google, I stumbled on Bistango, looked at the menu really fast, and made the reservation. When we got there, we were pleasantly surprised to find that they could make most everything gluten-free, and my three gluten-averse colleagues mentioned that they had never had such great gluten-free pancakes, butternut squash ravioli, or pasta. It was the food highlight of the trip! And, you can't beat brunch. My friend even got two gluten-free lava cakes to go. I am 100% accepting of gluten, so although my review highlights that part of their menu, their regular bread, pasta, and other offerings were delicious as well. I can't wait to go back on my next trip to New York.
The server was great! Suggested a very nice Italian wine for us. My saffron pappadelle was good but my husbands broccolini and mushroom sauce were cold. Disappointing
They have a wonderful selection of food and drinks. They are very accommodating with gluten free allergies.
Food menu had nice variety & high quality Ambience was warm & inviting. I gave it 4 stars because we just had the lunch/brunch & not the dinner.
Fantastic gluten free options. As someone with celiac disease, I truly appreciate their attention to cross contamination, dedicated kitchen space. Everyone on our group enjoyed the food, delicious pizza and pastas!
Love this place! Best flat bread I’ve ever eaten, (and I have celiac, so that means everything to me) all the food is so fresh and delicious!
There was a large party in the dining room . They were so loud we could barely hear ourselves across the table, thankfully we were finishing our entree. I left a note in the reservation that this was a birthday celebration for two people in our party but the hostess never told the waiter so I had to ask the waiter to put a candle in the desserts. Underwhelming and the effect was ruined.
Food was great as always and our waiter was very pleasant.
So excited to find a great gluten-free restaurant. The pasta, bread, and salad were excellent. Steak was over done. Service was good and suggested a fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon. Overall would definitely recommend for those with celiac disease.
Great midtown find! Super for business lunch with clients or prospective clients.
We really enjoyed our meal at Bistango. I had the lobster ravioli, and it was excellent. The service was good and I really appreciated that our waiter gave us free soda refills, a rarity in NYC.
Spent our first evening in NYC here. Good dinner and very pleasant service. Seated in alcove which allowed for good conversation as my husband as a hearing impairment. Enjoyed our meal. Proximity to The Kimberly (our hotel) was a nice bonus after a redeye flight.
Amazing!!! BEST GLUTEN FREE FOOD EVER!!!!!!!
Went for brunch for the first time. Were pleased with the selection and the quality served. Service was prompt and courteous.
Comfortable and relaxing. Sat outside. lVery good gluten free and “regular” food. Milan our waiter is friendly and helpful.
Good but not great. Flatbreads and salads were very very good but the main courses were just mediocre. In particular, for mains we had eggplant Parm and Bolognese and both were just Ok. We also had bronzing which was better.
My suggestion would be to stay with the left side of the menu (salads and starters) and ignore the right side (entrees). Very good service and very nice ambience. Love the fish tank in the waiting area.
Terrible food overpriced service and manager Erin are horrible
I pulled a surprise a small birthday brunch for my other half. It was a lovely, delicious brunch that's reasonably priced with terrific service.
I can't believe this restaurant is almost entirely gluten-free. Everything was delicious and would definitely go back.
Great cauliflower pasta. Salad feels not fresh and generic
Great care & service from the staff with regards to food restrictions and allergies. Food was delicious & the price was reasonable. Would highly recommend to gluten free & dairy free customers.
Excellent experience and food. Enjoyed the whole meal
Anniversary dinner. Food was amazing. Price is great for New York City. Only a handful of items in each category but despite having no specials, there were plenty of choices that we would have enjoyed. We did not have coffee or dessert!
We ordered the baby artichokes. They were hard. Seemed like they were merely poured out of a jar. We didn’t touch after one bite and the server didn’t ask why.
Veal was very fatty.
This my go to place for great Italian. Best celiac friendly Italian on the planet.
If you're looking for gluten-free dining, this restaurant checks all the boxes--which is obviously most important to GF diners. The server was attentive and helpful with the menu making suggestions. It was a treat to be able to order ravioli in a restaurant. That said, they were a little tough and undercooked. Still, it was a very good dining experience and the prices were reasonable for NY. There was nothing the restaurant could do about the view but bags of garbage were stacked up across the street--not so great to look at. Overall if you're looking for GF Italian I'd recommend.
The food was wonderful. I have celiac disease and have to eat gluten free. Everything could be done GF and the soup that I had was also dairy free and was some of the best that I have ever had. The only complain that I would have is the noise, it is a small place and extremely loud especially with 2 large table on either side of us. I will return the next time I am in NYC!
We loved all the gluten free opinions and were impressed by the staff’s attention to the food allergies our party had.
Enjoyed lunch with a client at Bistago. At the table we had a combination of salad and pasta. All was good. Service was fast (for NY) and attentive. Restaurant was quiet which was also nice as it often can be hard to have good conversation at NY restaurants during lunch. Will most certainly visit again.
Lovely food and friendly service. Would recommend
We were offered a choice of seating and selected an alcove with only two tables. It was perfect, since we were reminiscing about "old times" together and it was a quiet place. The food was first rate. Would go again, except that we were on our way back to NYC.
Very nice restaurant. Service was very good....our kids have food allergies and they were able to safely accommodate us without any problems. Very knowledgeable and careful about allergies.
I went for brunch on a Sat and it wasn't busy at all. My plate was underwhelming but the hummus served with the complimentary bread was absolutely delicious. My friend had the sausage frittata and she didn't think it was worth its price either. The decor reminded me of eating in the Met so that was a bit of a new experience.
