Lots of possibilities for gluten free food. They will make anything on the menu including the desserts. The ravioli was a bit thick but all in all, good. Gf bread also offered but, as always, more expensive than regular.
The restaurant is fancy and unique.
Valentines dinner with my partner!
We've been coming to this restaurant for the last three years for Galentine's and it's a favorite! The best thing about it is that it has wonderful gluten free and vegetarian options that are not just sides or a salad.
This restaurant is good for those with food restrictions. Both at lunch and dinner they are careful to make sure that restrictions are met, and they many gluten free alternatives. The tables are not on top of each other, and decoration is relaxing and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We were a large party, and Milan handled the table with aplomb. The branzino was life changing. A fun the wild mushrooms were meant for a pizza, Milan asked the chef if I could have them as a side dish- they were amazing. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We weren’t rushed. Water and drinks were replenished in a timely fashion. I will be going back- next time with my hubby. Keep Milan- he was amazing!
Being gluten free, they made my birthday dinner amazing! I was seriously in heaven and wish I didn't live so far or i'd go there all the time! I can't remember the last time I was able to eat the bread served before dinner. Not to mention, the gluten free bread was AMAZING! Probably the best I ever had. Everything from the food to the service was just perfect! Highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was excellent.
They make gluten free meals as good as any we have had.
Desserts were delicious.
Service was attentive and very friendly.
Very cozy, quiet setting in midtown. They are very knowledgeable about gluten free needs and the food is delicious prepared that way. Service was excellent.
I normally do not give bad reviews- But our meal here was miserable. We were seated in a back corner alcove by ourselves so there was absolutely nothing we could see of the restaurant. Our waiter was training a new waitress and then they forgot about us. We had to get up from our table and seek out somebody to help us five times after we waited over an hour for our meal. There did not appear to be a manager on site, because no one came to see how we were doing.
Good points are they do serve a wide choice of gluten-free items including warm bread on the menu. The salad was served dry as if they forgot the lemon dressing, the drizzle of balsamic was insufficient. By the time my chicken finally arrived it was so dry I could hardly swallow it. The sauce on it was good, but that’s the best I can say. My husband’s Bolognese was good.
The best part of the meal was that the desert menu was entirely gluten free. We had the carrot cake and it was delicious!
Excellent birthday date for someone who has Celiac. The bread and flatbread was delicious.
We always have a positive experience and an outstanding meal and Bistango. Milan is an excellent member of their wait staff!!
Was disappointed with my last visit. Octopus was unseasoned. Pasta dishes ( mine and my dinner date's) were just ok.
Outstanding food and service. Perfectly accommodated my Gluten-Free requirements. Highly recommend.
One of the best restaurants - in any city - with outstanding gluten-free options. From apps to salads to entrees and dessert, the choices were very creative, fresh and executed perfectly. And our waiter and other staff were attentive, open and friendly.
Great food and wine. Gluten free options are top-notch. If you have tome, have a cocktail in the penthouse rooftop bar!
The restaurant seeks to attract gluten-free eaters and then charges $4 for tasteless gluten free bread. The winter salad had little taste. So disappointing.
Reunion with friends from college
Decent food, attentive service and great for conversation. Only suggestion is to include a side with the entree.
Great food and service. Eggplant parm was awesome both times we came here. And the fish tank, wow.
Service was very attentive. Food was tasty and was reasonably priced.
We did a last minute reservation New Years Eve and had great service with a very attentive waiter. My son had recently turned 21 and when we let the waiter know he was great with helping my son figure out cocktail with flavors he knew he liked to enjoy with dinner. On top of that we ordered the mussel appetizer which was covered in a flavorful tomato reduction, I ordered the Cavatelli which was nice and spicy while my son ordered the lobster with squid ink pasta. We would most definitely visit again when in New York.
NYE fun - great service and loved our gluten free and gluten full options!
I have many food allergies. I love being able to choose any option on the menu and know that I can get it gluten free. The staff are always very careful to make sure my other food allergies are accommodated. Everything tastes delicious and the presentation is always beautiful. This is the one place where I can be a foodie again.
Good, decent location and very nice food. Service was a tad slow but not enough to ruin the experience by any means.
All of the items on the menu can be made gluten free. We had amazing GF homemade butternut squash raviolis, flatbread pizza and carrot cake. Great service and very knowledgeable about food allergies. Will definitely be going back. This place is a gem for people that are GF!
Our son has severe food allergies and we heard this place was excellent and they lived up to their reputation. Our waiter was fantastic and knowledgeable and built our confidence and than the food was amazing for everyone. We will be back for sure! The steak and the pasta dishes were fantastic and they made a plain cheese pizza for our other son when the waiter knew he might balk at the fancier options.
This was mine and my daughters second time visiting bistango. We got same table and same waiter like last time ,and same as last time we had wonderful experience
Food was amazing, service was great, very knowledgeable about dietary restrictions ( and also great with kids)
Highly recommended !!!
Very difficult to find good gluten free pasta. But here it is. They advertise that all of their dishes can be made gluten free. I have to admit that I was skeptical. After saying hello, the first question that the waiter asked was "Are there any dietary restrictions?" I told him that I was gluten free. He assured me that GF dishes were prepared in a separate area of the kitchen and GF pasta was cooked in a separate pot. All of their pasta is made in-house and my GF butternut squash ravioli was delicious. Usually GF bread is not worth the calories but this GF Italian bread was tasty and the GF carrot cake was great. Service was attentive without being intrusive. I never worried that I was going to be "glutened". This is the best restaurant meal that I have had since going gluten free~ 15 years ago. Will certainly be back!
Very disappointing meal. Pizzas very small.
The food was outstanding...very flavorful, satisfying, good portions and served quickly. We loved the flatbread, and my wife had a chicken dish with mushroom risotto that was delicious. Great gluten-free options, including rolls pre-dinner. Great place!
Had an excellent weekend brunch at Bistango, located in the beautiful Kimberly Hotel. (The circular salt water aquarium in the lobby is unique and breathtaking.) We enjoyed our meal so much that we returned for lunch on Wednesday. The meatballs were delicious, the flatbread tasty, and the pasta perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and helpful, a terrific all around spot.
We scheduled on the app to dinner at Christmas’ Eve but when we arrived the restaurant was closed at 21:45!
Was a big disappointment with us in the Christmas Eve because was a special occasion too.
We ate here three straight meals while staying at San Carlos across the street. Dinner, brunch, lunch: not a miss by chef or staff. Not sure what Bistango means, but Bistan-GO!
Great GF menu and preparation for celiacs
This was actually our second trip. My daughter is a celiac and dining out can be a challenge, but at Bistango she can dine as though she does not have a disease as all the food can be prepared Gluten Free or is naturally gluten free. They even have table bread. Additionally the staff is very well versed not just in Gluten, but in other allergy and dietary restrictions. The food is excellent and the price is very reasonable for NYC. It's also not pretentious like many NYC restaurants. I would highly recommend it regardless of being Celiac or other restrictions as it's nice food. The tables are also not jammed in which is also nice.
EXCELLENT!! as always...the Gluten free choices are many, incredible and delicious!!
The wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly and totally gets it!! as always.
The wine was great. It was a great time..We go out of our war to go here and it never disappoints...
Amazing Gf options!
The service was phenomenal and ambiance was fantastic. The lobby Aquarium was enjoyable and the hostess took time to take our pictures. The drinks were delicious. We ordered two different drinks and both were fresh and light but enough alcohol to feel a little buzz. We ordered a variety of food, a pizza, salad, octopus and two pasta dishes. The menu has no limit as far as gluten free dishes, so it is one the few places where a couple can go and not have to worry about someone not eating. The food was delicious- we finished every plate.
Great venue for our office Christmas lunch. Our party included a vegetarian and vegan and everyone was able to enjoy the appetizers, entrees and desserts. Mine was the salted caramel gelato, which was fab and I regret not having the 2 scoops I was originally offered!!
