I can't believe this restaurant is almost entirely gluten-free. Everything was delicious and would definitely go back.
Great cauliflower pasta. Salad feels not fresh and generic
Great care & service from the staff with regards to food restrictions and allergies. Food was delicious & the price was reasonable. Would highly recommend to gluten free & dairy free customers.
Excellent experience and food. Enjoyed the whole meal
Anniversary dinner. Food was amazing. Price is great for New York City. Only a handful of items in each category but despite having no specials, there were plenty of choices that we would have enjoyed. We did not have coffee or dessert!
We ordered the baby artichokes. They were hard. Seemed like they were merely poured out of a jar. We didn’t touch after one bite and the server didn’t ask why.
Veal was very fatty.
If you're looking for gluten-free dining, this restaurant checks all the boxes--which is obviously most important to GF diners. The server was attentive and helpful with the menu making suggestions. It was a treat to be able to order ravioli in a restaurant. That said, they were a little tough and undercooked. Still, it was a very good dining experience and the prices were reasonable for NY. There was nothing the restaurant could do about the view but bags of garbage were stacked up across the street--not so great to look at. Overall if you're looking for GF Italian I'd recommend.
The food was wonderful. I have celiac disease and have to eat gluten free. Everything could be done GF and the soup that I had was also dairy free and was some of the best that I have ever had. The only complain that I would have is the noise, it is a small place and extremely loud especially with 2 large table on either side of us. I will return the next time I am in NYC!
We loved all the gluten free opinions and were impressed by the staff’s attention to the food allergies our party had.
Enjoyed lunch with a client at Bistago. At the table we had a combination of salad and pasta. All was good. Service was fast (for NY) and attentive. Restaurant was quiet which was also nice as it often can be hard to have good conversation at NY restaurants during lunch. Will most certainly visit again.
Lovely food and friendly service. Would recommend
We were offered a choice of seating and selected an alcove with only two tables. It was perfect, since we were reminiscing about "old times" together and it was a quiet place. The food was first rate. Would go again, except that we were on our way back to NYC.
Very nice restaurant. Service was very good....our kids have food allergies and they were able to safely accommodate us without any problems. Very knowledgeable and careful about allergies.
I went for brunch on a Sat and it wasn't busy at all. My plate was underwhelming but the hummus served with the complimentary bread was absolutely delicious. My friend had the sausage frittata and she didn't think it was worth its price either. The decor reminded me of eating in the Met so that was a bit of a new experience.
We love Bistango. My daughter-in-law has Celiac and we know she will eat safely here. Our server even recognized her. The food was fabulous. Don’t miss out on the fig pizza, chicken and eggplant parm.
Outstanding. Gluten free heaven. We had the pizza and pasta.
Went for brunch and sat inside. For early in the morning, I found the indoor seating/ wall decor to be a little dark (we were really hoping to sit outside, but it was WAY too hot!) The portions were decently sized, the food was tasty, and the restaurant wasn't too loud so conversations were easy. Definitely a cute date place, but recommend sitting outside!
The food was good, however the outdoor seating was problematic as the elevator from the sidewalk continually opened up and sheets and garbage were brought up very near our table. It was unsettling, After eating we moved inside with our drinks to the lovely lobby and it was much better.
A group of 5 of us came here 3 years ago. One of us required a gluten-free meal and Bistango did not disappoint! We returned again tonight and the food (both gluten and sans gluten) were delicious and done to our satisfaction. The service here is also excellent- all of our waters were refilled, additional bread with hummus brought out, new forks and knives were brought out when needed. The waiter checked on us from time to time. They also serve gluten-free dessert options which was a plus. It’s hard to find a restaurant that serves good Italian food that is delicious even in its gluten-free version.
It’s was ok. Made it up to the rooftop, and the service was good there too. But it was all only ok.
The service was great. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the veal which was delicious. The prices were fair for New York. We liked it enough to return the next night for dessert.
Loved that everything on menu is also offered gluten free
Excellent gluten-free choices and friendly staff - a hidden gem!
Always fantastic food and service .
Hidden gem. The special of the day was delicious: shrimp pasta.
Lovely to sit outside and our waiter was great, but the food was low level. The artichokes seemed from a can and the cauliflower and bread crumbs in my orecchiette were mushy.
Sadly, this is my first negative review ever, and I never thought I’d have to write it about Bistango. My Husband and I have eaten at the original Bistango a number of times and have always thought it was excellent. We are in NYC for one night this time, and staying in Midtown, so we decided to make a reservation at Bistango at the Kimberly, since it was only 2 blocks from our hotel. We are also entertaining two couples for a Hamilton NYC weekend in a few weeks and thought this would be an excellent choice, based on its location. Wow, was I wrong. Our dinner tonight could not have even been considered adequate. Both my Husband and I had salads to start, and both were fine, but certainly not noteworthy. Our entrees did not even rise to the level of adequate. I had the Oriacchetti Pasta with Roasted Cauliflower. I have had this dish in other restaurants and loved it. Tonight, I literally couldn’t eat it. It tasted stale and really awful. I didn’t want to make an issue, but when asked by our server, I told her nicely what I thought. She said she would tell the chef, but did not offer to do anything for me such as replace the dish, or remove it from our bill. My Husband ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana at out server’s suggestion. It was very over cooked and literally burned around the edges. The sauce tasted like Ragu as well. We paid the $128 bill and left this restaurant very unsatisfied. My Husband stopped and bought a salad at a small bodega near our hotel, and said it was by far better than dinner. What a disappointment!
Nice staff. Good food. Good service. Nice hidden gem. I recommend.
Best restaurant for gluten free food. Everything was delicious! Wait staff friendly and courteous.
Convenient location and reasonable price. Food is good, not spectacular but not bad. Had brunch with my friend and wanted to be closer to Grand Central station. Mimosa and Bloody Marry for $4/glass for brunch. Pretty good deal. Lunch/brunch menus are mostly around $16-18. They have small outdoor seating which does not have much ambiance though better than indoor seating I think.
Appetizers were great, colleagues entrees look really good, mine was ok.
The food was unimpressive but the restaurant was pretty.
The atmosphere was very nice and the table service wonderful.
Food was very good and reasonable.
Enjoyed the pasta and shrimp. Very well cooked.
We came here for a nice lunch, but were disappointed. The food is ok, but not worth the price. They say everything is made in house, but some of the food (the fries and tiramisu) tasted freezer burned. The service was very friendly, but spotty.
We had a lovely brunch at Bistango and was also a guest at the hotel. As a frequent visitor to NYC I can clearly say the staff and the hotel were the highest quality. In addition we had our daughters wedding at the sister Reston 3rd and 29th street. Having a gluten free wedding was a priority for my daughter and the food was excellent. In addition the staff were very helpful and the service great. Thank you all for a beautiful weekend!
Very nice service, food and ambiance. Especially enjoyed our flatbread, salad and blueberry tart dessert (which was more like a small pie).
Outstanding value and excellent service as my wife and I entertained or were entertained by a friend.. who happened to be in NY on the same dates... we are all from Malaysia and Singapore hence the coincidence is super special.
The food was excellent.. enough variety to meet our varied dietary restrictions and the service was just superb.
I would visit again if given a chance.. for the location and the value and even the drinks just made for an awesome ambience
We had great service and didn’t feel neglected at all.
Food was tasty and appreciated the bread and hummus appetizer.
Will come back again.
Great dinner!!! What a lovely spot to enjoy some great food. Service was top-notch. Started with an appetizer, followed by an entree and desert. All courses were great. We enjoyed our evening very much!!
