Live music in the bar every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday!
We really enjoyed the corned beef sliders on St. Pats Day and live music.
The manager and the waitress were both wonderful.
Have already recommended it to several people.
Our waiter, Joel, was terrific. He made us feel like we mattered, that he truly cared - exactly what hospitality should be about.
Dinner was delicious. I would order the Meatloaf & mashed potatoes again.
Although the dining room was quite comfortable & attractive, we look forward to returning when the weather is suitable for al fresco dining. Their patio is gorgeous. Like an oasis, you forget you’re in the middle of Chesterfield.
St Pats Day. Food was awesome
Third visit to Bishop's Post and the food and service continued to not disappoint. However the price point has continually inched up, to the point that I'll have to think twice about whether to return -- especially if you like to have a cocktail or three with dinner. Drink prices and appetizers are now up there. Not sure how Open Table still lists it as a $30 price point restaurant. For example, the shrimp appetizer, though awesome, was $24 for four pieces of shrimp.
Went there for a late lunch/early supper on St Pats sunday. There were two of us, but we just split both one appetizer and one entree, yet still had a hefty bill. All in all, 2 cups of soup, the Shrimp appetizer and one entree (the corned beef "special" for St Pats day), (plus an additional bowl of Irish Stew taken to go) was close to a hundred dollars... When drinks were added, the total bill, tip included, was $200...
Again, food was good, servers and bartenders were friendly.... Just be prepared to spend, especially if drinking adult beverages.
Our server Virginia was the absolute best. I can’t say enough about how she made our night out the most pleasant we have had in years. We will be asking for her in the near future when we go back to Bishops Post.
We love the fish specials. The chef is great as is our waitress.
The food was excellent but we were in a room with an event ( 2 12 person tables) VERY noisey! Plus small children running around the tables and screaming at times ! Our poor server had our table plus both of those ! He was very nice and apologetic as our food took a long time . Nice restaurant , good food but overall not the best experience
Nice place. great service by our waiter, very attentive. You must try the post roast it was delicious. Enjoyed every aspect!
This is a restaurant where you can feel comfortable with your friends, and know that the staff will be attentive to your every need. Their soup du jour, and wine list alone make it worth the visit.
Their Patio opens on Saint Pats Sunday.
Give it a try.
Dinner was great
We eat at Bishop’s Post often and the food and service are always wonderful — which is why we keep coming back!
A very delightful dinning experience. Reservations were easy to make online.
We gathered with friends from out of town that we hadn't seen in awhile. The service and food was outstanding. We had a rectangular table for 7 people. The only negative was that the table was so wide it was difficult to converse with the people across the table without yelling. So we were limited to talking to just the person next to us which wasn't great for catching up with the whole group. We had 3 separate conversations going on most of the night. Still, I would go back, but with a smaller group.
Great place, food, service, ambiance.
Superior service by Virginia whose description of surf n turf special changed my dinner selection. My wife chose an off-menu ravioli type dish which we loved. They have a reasonably priced wine list, by the bottle or glass, and a well-stocked bar with a competent barkeep. This is the 4th time to dine here after a Sunday matinee theatre performance and have enjoyed consistently solid food with excellent service.
Go but do not order veal piccata. Meat may be a veal cutlet in disguise. Meat was tough and chewy with little flavor and the sauce was not very good. There service was awful.
Everything was perfect as usual! Had the veal chop and was amazing, wife tried seafood pasta, she gave me some and delicious as well. Can’t say enough about Bishop’s Post, The service is always impeccable, we had a new server and I apologize I don’t remember his name, but he was absolutely professional.
I was pleasantly suprised by the entire experience! Service was excellent food was tasty. Many options to choose from so we will definitely be returning.
Great service for a crowded evening. Food was great! Manager checked in on the table and apologized for how busy it was.
$8 local beers 👎 otherwise great dinner and service 😁
We had an excellent date night, my wife and I enjoyed the service and the food!
Awesome great food and service
Bishop’s Post strikes again. After my last visit I was so captivated by how delicious my clients pork chop looked, I had to return. In no way was I disappointed, the pork chop was cooked to perfection, my wife had the Valentines Steak Oscar which she said was melting in her mouth with every bite. Our server Virginia was right on point with great service even though it was extremely busy night. Management stopped by our table to ensure our satisfaction, I can’t say enough about Bishop’s Post.
My only complaint is that my wife and I were sat next to an absurdly loud table of about 10 ladies for our valentine's day dinner. They were excessively loud. You may think this was out of the restaurants control, however if you're advertising valentine's day dinners maybe don't accept reservations of 10 as it is clearly going to ruin the ambiance. They comped our dessert though since they knew it was a dent on the evening. Would go back as the food was wonderful
Good meal friendly waitress good time we will be back again in march
Valentines Day dinner for two. Had a nice meal. Server was great. Food was pretty good.
Overall A+++ Will go back often. Everything was done in a professional manner.
Bishop’s Post has become my home away from home. This time I decided to host a small business late luncheon. Tiphany was our server, and was very accommodating. We wanted to order off the dinner menu, but the dinner menu isn’t available until 4 pm. Tiphany took it upon herself to go ask the kitchen if any dinner items were available to order. She was able to come back to our table and to our surprise, tell us several items that could be ordered. One of my guest had Chicken Linguini, the other the pork chop, and I had the pot roast dinner. We all enjoyed our meals so much, I actually went home to tell my wife we have to go back so I can try the pork chop. Tiphany also seemed to know we were having a business meeting, she was very attentive with professional service.
This was my first visit to Bishop's Post. I ordered the lunch combination of a cup of mushroom soup and a scoop of chicken salad. I did not care for the taste of the chicken salad. It didn't look appealing to me either. According to our server, it had Worcestershire sauce in it. I asked for it on a bed of lettuce instead of the croissant. It was served on one tiny leaf of lettuce. Despite being disappointed in the choice I made, the room was warm and cozy on a cold winter day. The patio looked really nice. I heard from a friend it is very enjoyable on a summer evening.
Great time. One of our favorites
Seated in separate room with 3 other tables...one a party of 11. One waiter assigned to room, was running the whole time. No time to provide good service. Did not write orders down and had to come back to table to verify. Drink order was slow. Bread service slow (blamed burning our bread in oven). Flagged waiter down to order second drink, left before asking others if they wanted another drink but really didn't matter as second drink never came (but was on the bill). Corrected bill took awhile due to party of 11 wanting separate checks. Waiter did bring the second drink I ordered (complimentary) but we were ready to leave. Conversation at table was difficult due to party of 11 sitting next to us. Management never came in room to ask how things were going. Waiter needed more help. Food was good...too bad.
We arrived early and got seated immediately. Our server did an outstanding job and we would/will recommend Bishop's Post to our friends. Cocktails were yummy as was the food!
Food and service was awesome, highly recommend. Patio is one of the nicest in St Louis when the weather is nice.
Food was very good. Extremely slow service by an inexperienced server brought the whole evening down to average or less.
This was our first time eating here and we loved it. Everyone was so friendly and the food was awesome. Joel our server was so engaging and we really enjoyed him.
We save Bishop's Post for special dinners. Wonderful meal and staff!
The service and food was outstanding. The noise level was too loud for table conversation. We literally raised our voices so our guest across the table could hear what we were saying. We were seated in the wine room next to a large group. Next time we will request main dining seating.
Bishop's Post is a great setting, with enough energy and conversation going on without being distracting. There is a variety of entrees, as well as salads and appetizers. If you're looking for a special evening out with a medium price tag, Bishop's Post is an excellent option
Oh my, SUCH a nice place! The food was insanely delicious and the service was absolutely world class. HUGE fan we will be back!
