Birravino Ratings and Reviews
People an ambiance is nice but it isnt much more than an overpriced Pizzeria.
a meatball appetizer than consisted of two meatballs, a pizza to share and one drink each and the bill is $70 just a bad value. The food was ok but the drinks were way overpriced and were not very good.
It’s a big restaurant with tables very close together. The noise level was deafening to the point where I wanted to plug my ears. Couldn’t hear the waitress telling us specials and of course couldn’t have a decent conversation. Food was mediocre and pricey. The pizza was doughy. The only good part was the beer. Not good enough to go back to.
The host was awful. We arrived half hour early and I thought I would check in and let them know we’d be at bar. He did not even look up from computer to acknowledge me, just nodded his head. So Reservation Time came and when I gave name he told me there was no reservation? I told him I got a phone call earlier in day confirming, I even showed him the phone number on my phone. Then he tried to blame open table and gave some line of bs. So as we waited another couple came in and guess what, he told her no reservation in computer! We were finally seated after 40 more minutes. Lobby is freezing, ever time door opens you get hit with blast of cold air. I understand things happen but this host wa lying and had no customer service skills at all. I found him rude and lacking any type of caring about his patrons. The food isjust ok. Nothing spectacular. The host ruined our whole experience and we would never go back.
A great choice for a birthday or a fun special occasion, the menu is pretty vast and includes some vegetarian options, which is great. Never got something I didn't enjoy here, the dessert is especially delicious, so leave room! The beer they brew themselves is also fantastic, but they also have a stellar wine list.
Made an easy dinner reservation for a friend and I, arrived early, was greeted so nicely and my reservation requests to sit in a more private section were met. Our food was AMAZING, no words to describe how well our meal came out and how fantastic our server was. My friend knows Fernando who works here, as we both work in Red Bank; Fernando was excellent, he took care of us for the remainder of the night. The atmosphere is fantastic, I was feeling an Italian rustic vibe, super easy to walk in casually dressed up. We started off with a Caesar salad , and continued on with bolognese, a chicken parm dish and a side of potatoes , Most definitely we will be coming back regularly. Overall incredible experience. A must.
On a cold Friday night, the place was jam packed and too small greeting area. Need to make a bigger area as it was cold and every time the door opened we were wind blown. I think they overbook for the 7-7:30 time as everyone arrived at once. Although we had a reservation waited 20-25 minutes in the tight front area.
I could not enjoy my dinner ...having a conversation is ear deafening with too many people squished ....perhaps a more staggered seating needs to be arranged. I did notice by 9:30 there was no line to get in so something is wrong. Need to stagger your reservations so everyone can enjoy and then I would consider returning.
The waiter was attentive and pleasant, the only highlight of the evening. I wish I New his name to give a thumbs up for making our visit decent. Hangar steak entree was good but the Caesar salad dressing is fake and the calamatta was tasteless.
Food was delicious !! Formaggi Misti was way too small and they need to get more name brand Citron Vodkas besides Absolut ... otherwise Food and Pizza was absolutely superb and delicious !!! Best drink Arrianciata 🍊🍋 and great Beer selections 🍻 oh and the Cherry Vanilla Gelato 🍧 my favorite !!
I live in town and hands down one of my favorite places... I’ve been here at least 12+ times and the only detractors during my experiences are consistency (sometimes not all) and RUSHING everything out. I’ve learned to ask when ordering my apps or entrees to wait a little to put them in so I can digest and actually enjoy my dinner/drink. This place can get really busy, which I get but being that my bill is never less than 200$ I’d like to enjoy the experience
This was not our first time at Birravino and it won't be our last. It was a Saturday night, the restaurant is very popular to begin with, and the place was packed. Food was very tasty but in a few instances, slightly overcooked. Meatballs are to die for!! Needs a more diverse dessert menu. In spite of it being very busy, the service was attentive and responsive. Noise level a definite problem. Not a place for a quiet, intimate meal. Nevertheless, a good time was had by all four of us and we will return, probably on a Sunday for some "Sunday sauce"
Being 100% Italian, I am quite critical of and rarely will go to any Italian food restaurant. My family and I ended up making reservations and going to this restaurant because it was close to a venue in Red Bank and had good on-line reviews. I can honestly say that this is the best Italian food I have had at a restaurant, ever. I would gladly take the hour drive from my house to have dinner here again, without having the venue to go to afterwards. It was that good.
I am not one to write a response or complain, but I appreciate reading reviews and hopefully this will help others. We had to wait to be seated 1 hour after or our reservation time. We would have left, but the hostess kept saying only a few minutes until we will be seated as soon as we arrived. Well, a few minutes turned into an hour. After waiting to be seated, the manager never came to our table to apologize for the ridiculous wait. The appetizers were good. The waiter ordered the wrong pizza though, and was honest about it, and he did get us a new one (which, of course, we had to wait for) and that was taken off our bill by the manager. Our main dinner was not well prepared. The pasta was very undercooked and very hard in texture. The short ribs were cold when served. I was extremely disappointed and will not be returning. I never expected to wait an hour to be seated when I made reservations days in advance. I wish the food made up for the long wait, but it did not. I also feel that the hostess should have been upfront and honest about the wait time or the manager came and talked to us. This way, we could have left and gone somewhere else.
