Birraporetti's is located in Houstons theater district, making it the perfect spot to get dinner before or after a show. Birraporetti's also offers lunch and a Sunday jazz brunch buffet. Enjoy live music and fine American fare including a carving station and made-to-order waffles, along with bottomless mimosas or one of the signature Bellinis.
The menu at Birraporetti's includes rib eye, ravioli stuffed with Maine lobster and grilled white fish with tortellini. Enjoy mushroom caps and escargot for appetizers, the shrimp and linguini in a spicy marinara sauce or the pappardelle with prosciutto with sundried tomatoes. Dont leave without trying the chocolate chip cheesecake or the berries and cream.
We visited Birraporetti's for a pre -Ballet dinner. We arrived a few minutes early and were promptly seated. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and Crab Cakes from the Theatre Menu, my wife and daughter ordered from the regular menu. Our meals arrived promptly and were superb. Cocktails and wine were reasonably priced. It's also across the street from the Wortham, making it the best choice for the ballet for convenience as well as the food.
First and to be fair there were 26 members of our group when we dined at Barraporetti's last night. We had reservations after a performance at the Wortham Center. We were seated in the basement of the restaurant meaning that our food was served cold. I requested a glass of wine but had to remind the waitress three times before losing my cool. Because the service was so poor, we were there for 3 1/2 hours and left without getting the ordered desserts. Only one waitress was assigned to serve our three tables. I have previously dined at Barraporetti's and the food was always good but they were completely unprepared for our visit and management owes the residents of The Grand Parkway an apology.
Alley theater show
Glasses of wine are too expensive
We always dine here before theatre, ballet, symphony, blues events, all within one block's walking distance in the heart of Houston's Theatre District. This restaurant, and its previous locations, have been popular for more than thirty years. Delightful ambiance, menus and service. Birraporetti's familiar slogan is a keeper... "Great Italian restaurant; and heck of an Irish bar."
Meal was very good, service was acceptable, waiter forgot to bring our glass of wine with our dinner.
A good restaurant in the theatre district which never displeases. Their bar is very accommodating.
Great lunch spot, the initial service was slow, but it turned out okay! Lunch specials were very good and reasonably priced!
The server was not attentive and only checked on us when the order was taken and again to make sure our food was okay. We did see her one other time to ask if we wanted the check. I could understand if the restaurant was packed but at our time of arrival there were only 3 tables with diners.
We had the buffet and some of the food on the buffet was cold
Service was very slow due to some confusion with the staff. after the 20 minute wait for a server, all was perfect..excellent food
Enjoyed the dining experience very much. Food was delicious , yet reasonably priced.
Biaporetti's is our destination for downtown dining before a performance in the theater district. They understand the time constraints without making us feel rushed. They even kept our take-home box in the fridge for us to pick up after the performance. It's also good if you prefer to eat after-theater. I love 'em.
We were attending The Alley Theatre's production of "Spider's Web" at 7:30. Reservations were at 6:00 so we had a very nice and relaxed dinner! I always enjoy BirraPoretti's!
Great food and fast service. Went for dinner before the theater. Great.
Good place with great service be fore show at Alley. Chicken piccata rather flavorless though.
The service was horrible. Made a reservation to make sure we would be able to get in and out before the evening's performance and it literally took 45 minutes to get 2 pasta dishes and 1 pizza out to the table! Had to eat quickly so no time to enjoy our food. Will never go back there.
had some issues to confirm appointment but after we got there the experience and the food and service were great!
I have eaten there many time and it has always been worth the money. It has been 6 months since my last visit and we found the food terrible. We ate the Sunday brunch and the food was cold and the selection was not as it was in the pass. The wine was undrikable and the coffee tasted as if they reheated the leftover from the night before. The waitress was courtious and did the best she could. When my wife spoke to the manager she was told "I have worked here 9 Years and nothing has changed over that time there". I find it appalling a manager would not at least act as if he cared. There are too many Great restaurants in Houston with a Sunday morning brunch for me to ever go back to Birraporetti's for any type of meal.
This is a good choice because it's right in the theatre district. My chicken breast looked dry and awful when it arrived (how about a little butter or something, folks!), but it tasted all right. Also no butter or sauce on the dry mashed potatoes. Not my first choice for a great meal, but location, location, location -- as they say in the real estate business -- keeps the place busy. It's great for an after-show drink, though.
Enjoyed the selections offered. Everyone was pleased and happy with experience. Location to the theatre a plus and parking was available at a fair rate. Free! W coupon
