Birraporetti's - Friendswood Ratings and Reviews
We chose Birraporetti's for a Mother's Day dinner for several reasons: we wanted cuisine that appeal to a variety of family members, reasonable prices that weren't jacked up for the holiday, took reservations, was not too noisy, and was easy to get to, since elderly family members tire easily. Birraporetti's fit all these. Our food was good, although they were out of a few things after the busy holiday business. I especially like that we don't have to drive to "restaurant row" or near the mall to get here - it's location near neighborhoods is very convenient and parking is easy.
This was a big disappointment for Mother's Day. I made a reservation for 2 for Mother's day brunch as I have for the last few years so we did not have to wait for a table. When we arrived we were told that our "table" was a high top in the bar area, a small circular table with very little room for two glasses and plates for a meal. With few options elsewhere at that point we stayed and were then told that we had to have the buffet. My mom had surgery last year and can only eat small amounts of food at each sitting so paying $26.95 for a buffet for her would be ridiculous. After a few words with what I think was a manager they allowed us to order a meal. We were not made to feel valued as patrons by either the hostesses or this manager. The only saving grace was our waiter. I will not return nor would I recommend this for anyone.
Went to Easter Brunch and was not impressed. Food was fair in flavor but just luke warm. For $26.95, we expected more selection and hot food. We paid $10 extra to have bottomless mimosas. Don't bother with this option because it's nearly impossible to get someone to refill your glass. We didn't mind the noise but the buffet is super crowded and hard to get to. We won't be back.. Too many restaurants in the area with better food and service.
The food was good, but it wasn't what we ordered. It was close enough to fool us until we were half way through, then we realized it wasn't what we had ordered. Although the wrong food was also displayed on our ticket, so they gave us what they said they were going to, they had just wrote it down wrong.
This was our first visit to this location. I had been to the original Houston location a couple of times in the past. There were only a few places open on Christmas night. The service was adequate. The food was good, but not great. I was surprised that they charge $3 for a basket of 5 little pieces of bread! The expresso machine was not working. Meatballs VERY good. Waiter was ok, but not great. Overall, visit was just "ok". I will probably try this location again.
The food was great. Well prepared, quickly delivered well flavored however the noise level was rather high and not crowded. The interior design, though attractive, lacked and absorbent features that might lessen the din. A few well placed panels might make the whole difference. It's a good place for groups but perhaps not the best choice for romance in spite of the delicious offerings.
We have eaten here before. The food was better on previous visits. This time the service left a lot to be desired. It was a buffet brunch and our waiter never bothered to remove any empty plates. I asked for hot tea. The water was lukewarm and he brought 4 tea bags to select from, all of witch were strange and appeared they had been sitting somewhere for for a long time. I drink tea all of the time and this was the worst selection I have ever been given. His reply was "It's been so warm lately no one has been drinking tea". It has been unusually cold for the past few weeks! So I assume they can't be bothered having a normal selection of tea. My husband wanted juice and the waiter rudely said it's not included. I assume he thought we would not want to pay for it. We had to flag him down to get drink refills. When he finally brought the bill the folder was empty. We had to wait to get his attention again to get our bill which had the tip already added. He laughed saying he does this all of the time. We did have a dining voucher. I feel he thought that gave him the right to giving us poor service and automatically adding his tip, which in my opinion was way more than was deserved. At full price this would definitely is not worth it. I will probably not return to this restaurant.
We had a good but not great dinner. The waiter was great and very attentive. The evening started out with a peculiar tactic by the hostess letting us know that we only had 2 hours for dinner since they had a lot of reservations that evening and would need the table. This turned what should have been a relaxing evening into one that we just a bit off. All in all the food was good, waiter was great, but that was not enough to offset the odd vibe we received from the Hostess the minute we walked into the restaurant. Average at best.
I had made a reservation for 11 people - 3 couples & 5 kids. We arrived on time, got seated & began celebrating valentines day. Our waiter Nate was fantastic & super attentive. After placing our drink order & the kids orders we were all having a wonderful time. Our drinks arrived late so we ordered some appetizers & eventually our food. Only 1 appetizer arrived prior to our food arriving. Keep in mind, an hour had already passed by this time. The drinks and food were PHENOMENAL!
Our main issue was that the drinks & food were slow to arrive & the hostess had the gall to ask us to wrap things up quickly to accomodate a party of 12 that showed up without a reservation. This happened 15 minutes AFTER our meals arrived! Our waiter Nate & the manager both apologized, we enjoyed more food & then the manager came by and asked us to wrap up since the party of 12 had been waiting for 45 minutes. Seriously? We WILL NOT return to this establishment again. I love Birraporetti's, but will give the other locations my business & money. Shame on you for not providing the utmost customer service!
Having been to Bierrapprettis downtown Houston, I was a little disappointed with the interior in Friendswood. The downtown restaurant is upscale with comfortable chairs, a busy bar, and very well set tables, the feeling of opulence and comfort melded together so well. That look and feel is part of my dining experience at Bierrapprettis. So it did not feel quite the same at the Friendswood location.
Yet, the food was just as good and service is impeccable. So I would still go back there if I could not make it to the downtown location.
I prefer their downtown restaurant for the overall dining experience and would recommend Bierrapprettis, but their downtown location.
We ate here for New Years Eve and expected to have a crazy atmosphere, over seated waiters, and lack luster food typical of NYE dining for us... We were wrong!! Atmosphere was so nice, the waitstaff was more than attentive and the food was delicious!! We wil be going back, if they can handle a night like New Years Eve so perfectly we are excited to make it a regular spot for us!
Our hostess was cordial, reservation table available immediately, and the service was excellent. In comparing this venue with their downtown venue, the ambience in Friendswood is much more toward the family and friends local meeting place while the downtown venue is a touch more elegant and gives the vibe of a family Italian restaurant. Noise level in FW is high, as I observed that every surface on the interior of the building is hard. Carpeting, and some sound absorbing panels would help the "brightness" of this venue.
I started off by having trouble finding the place, but once there, I found the manager as well as our server, Tim I believe, to be very nice. The food was pretty good, not outstanding. They had made-to-order omelettes, however, none of us tried them. There were five in our party of 2 adults and 3 teens/tweens. Everyone found somethings that they liked and we all left there stuffed. I had the bottomless mimosas, which were good. A couple of other drinks, included a virgin pina colada and a virgin strawberry daiquiri. Everyone seemed pleased. I may consider returning in the future, though I did not particularly care for the tip already being added in. Voucher or not I should be in control of that.
This was a great find in Friendswood. I grew up here and always had to go to Clear Lake for good food. Not sure how long Birraporettis has been here but love it. People from CL should take the short drive for house made pasta, great deal on wine on Monday and Tuesday nights, and great service. They worked well with a food allergy at our table also.
This was our first visit to Birraporetti's. The food was good. We had Mushrooms for an appetizer, and some garlic bread. My wife had the Pork Chops, and I had a veal dish, and we even took an order to go for my son. We will return for the pizza at a later date, and perhaps the brunch. Dessert was excellent as well (I had the cheesecake).
The Mrs. and I vacuumed out the Huffmobile, and took the long drive to Friendswood to Birraporetti's for bruncheon. Signage, people...you are hidden to the uninitiated! Having made a reservation for 10:30 a.m., I was a wee bit peevish when no one was available up front to seat us and we waited for several minutes. Next, we were told that they were still putting the food out on the buffet, and it would be a few minutes (do you hear that grumbling? It's my tum-tum!). There was a bit of confusion as to which member of the waitstaff we "belonged to", and someone (not me) got a tad "miffy". Once the food made it to the buffet, yummies abounded. Find the TravelZoo or Groupon/Living Social discount, and you'll feel thrifty and gluttonous!
Went with family. We had a large table in the back that, even though wobbly, was quiet. Nice place for the adults in the family to enjoy a quiet time without the little ones.Everyone commented that the food was good, and this from a very critical group. Will go again.
Always liked the restaurant but this one serves exceptionally cold food. My cannelloni was cold inside and the sauce was coagulated. I could not send back because we were on a time constraint. They are nice, the food is good however hot foods should be hot.
We had Christmas Eve dinner last year at Birraporetti's in Friendswood. We enjoyed it so much we decided to go back again this year. We were so disappointed in both the service and the food. ,The place was not very crowded and there were definitely fewer diners than last year. The spinach dip tasted like Cheese Wiz with spinach. The chicken in my daughter's pasta dish was dry, dry, dry and looked as though it had been heated up a few times. My pasta dish was tasteless. I rarely, if ever put salt on my food and found it necessary . The whole meal was just mediocre. I expect more than that for $95 without alcoholic drinks. We wont be going back anytime soon.
Because of the name, I expected much better. I brought by wife here for our anniversary and the atmosphere was nice enough once we got to the back room away from the noise. The staff was very attentive and we never had to wait for refills. The only thing is that the food was just average. I've had worse, but I expected much better. I had the special filet with crab, and it didn't have much flavor. My wife had linguine and clams and she said the same. The place is nice, just not nice enough to make the drive we did to get there.
