Birds & Bubbles, is the first full-service restaurant from Sarah Simmons, owner of CITY GRIT Culinary Salon in New York City.

Using the highest quality seasonal ingredients, The Birds & Bubbles menu features dishes paying homage to Simmons’ southern roots with an elevated take on Southern classics. This includes dishes often served for Sunday Supper, such as her Buttermilk Fried Chicken. These new twists on old favorites bring global flavors to familiar dishes served side by side with bubbly from the team’s favorite champagne producers.

Voted Grub Street’s “Best Late- Night Food in New York City” we offer a late night menu Friday and Saturday 11:00pm -1:00am.

I had a friend in town, and we were (as always) looking for a delicious, good value, short wait brunch spot. We spied Birds & Bubbles randomly on OpenTable, and with a name like that, we were sold. We took a Lyft to Chinatown - immediate confusion. When they let you out of the Lyft, look down. The staircase leads you to a pretty hip spot. Nice bar, then a back room with a handful of tables. Good smells. Brunch cocktails (no deals, so $14 a pop. Recommend a cocktail over the cordial/champagnes, but that's me. My friend loved the Bloody Mary.) I had the birdies in a blanket (chicken fried in cinnamon waffle batter). Uh-mazing. Four pieces, so recommend a side. The grits or the crispy potato salad, for sure. My friend got the Christmas casserole, and it was delicious. We have at least three more dishes we want to try, so definitely going back. Will probably drag others as well for the grits.

I have sent an full email to the restaurant. Over an hour for our food which was burnt and dry. Offered 2 hard biscuits as a consolation.

I went when they first opened and the fried chicken was really good. On this visit, it wasn't. The skin was soggy and was over-peppered and under-salted. Won't be going back.

It was really great as always but it just seems that every time I go there they keep us waiting at the bar to be seated... even when I've made a reservation. On multiple occasions they've had to give us free champagne while we were waiting because they felt so bad. I never mind free champagne so it doesn't bother me but if you're someone who likes to stick to a tight schedule or you're in a rush it might create a problem!

The worst brunch I've ever been to. Noisy, crammed place, horrible expensive food, slow service and overall terrible experience. The reviews on OpenTable don't make any sense to me.

We saw mixed reviews before visiting but decided to give it a shot anyway. That was a mistake. Everything was so-so, except the (i) service, which was less than that and (ii) crispy potato salad, which was good. We had cocktails (Catywampus and Seelbach) and entrees (Birdies in a blanket and Chicken & egg biscuit) and none of us were wowed or even intrigued. The space was chilly (the diners next to us kept their coats on through the meal) and the music volume went up and down without reason. The only plus: the bartender when we were there (Sunday afternoon) was not bad on the eyes. If I had to go back, I'd sit at the bar and ask him to make me something off-menu.

Note that the restaurant is not easily accessible for persons with physical disabilities as it's down a steep flight of stairs.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. While the theme is attractive, the restaurant severely lacks in execution.

The food is really delicious (especially the sides! definitely get the sprouts and crispy potatoes) and the wine selection is quite good, even if you--like me--are not a fan of bubbles you will probably enjoy your drinks and dinner here.

Just one word of caution, apparently it is possible that your reservation could be at the bar, which at this restaurant in particular is an extremely uncomfortable place to eat and enjoy a meal. Make sure you double check before showing up that you were not assigned seats at the bar. It almost happened to me and I am sure it would have severely decreased my enjoyment of my meal and the evening.

Really enjoyed the chicken friend in waffle batter and the chicken biscuit sandwich. Prices were reasonable and our server was friendly. Nice little spot to try for brunch.

Steak Tartare and the Chicken liver mousse were so delicious. Shrimp and Grits is a must and so are the Brussels sprouts. Great wine by the bottle at such a nice price. I wouldn't order the chicken again sadly. It's spicy with no note on the menu of it being so. They kindly accommodated our "all dark meat" request at no extra charge (huge deal, very kind!) but I couldn't enjoy it because of the spice, medium
Level heat so it's not crazy, just sensitive to it.

The staff was amazing, superstars! Friendly and chatty. I witnessed someone being an hour late for their reservation and the host accommodated her without question. I loved the way I saw him handle the situation.

We'll definitely be back!

Overall the experience was not good. Don't bother ordering wine as the glasses are $14 a piece and "measured out to exactly 4oz". The waiting area is super small and smelled like trash from the kitchen. Would not go back.

When we walked by on Saturday evening, the restaurant was full and lively. It looked like a great place, with a great menu. We returned the next day and were the only ones there. The service was fine, but the food was average, nothing special. We got chicken, but were unable to order only dark meat, so we ended up with a chicken breast that neither of us care for. And while the décor is nice, the ambience isn't quite the same when you're the only ones there. That said, clearly folks like it on a Saturday night!

Went her with my husband wen I was in NYC last weekend on vacation. The food was awesome. Best Fried chicken tenders ever and the hot potato salad is to die for you must order it. Last but not least you must try the champagne with the cordial of your choice "perfect".

We arrived half and hour early for our reservation so we grabbed drinks. When it was time to be seated, the hostess told us a few more minutes, but we waited 20 minutes more. After being seated, we waited 30 minutes until the server came back to take our order. I notified the hostess and waiter twice before he came over. It wasn't that busy when we were seated so I don't understand why it took so long to be served. By the time our food arrived, my mother had met up with us and she drove in from Bethlehem, PA. The food is good but definitely not worth the wait or bad attitude and service.

The chicken is delicious. I love the potato salad and the biscuits. Definitely worth the reservation! The champagne, sparkling wine selections are very good.

I wanted to be in love with this place but I just "liked" it. Waiter wasn't knowledgeable at all - kept saying they changed the menu so he didn't know when we asked him a basic question. It was empty so I don't know why he couldn't just study the menu...? Food was good and drinks were good. Warm potatoes with the garlic aoli were the best thing we had. Would go back with a big group and sit outside - worth another shot. Oh and the music is fun (think 90s rap and r&b)

The staff are very friendly and accommodating The food was rather sub par, especially for destination dining. (We in Chelsea) Best I can say is that its interpretive dining and pricey at that.

The food was absolutely delicious and the ambience is great! The music complements the southern food well and creates a vibe/experience. I will definitely be back! (However if you're looking for a boozy brunch wouldn't recommend it... I'm all about the food so it was excellent for me).

Took my friend from Ireland here for her birthday. It was such a beautiful evening and lovely to sit out in the garden area. Staff was so sweet and helpful and they made my friend feel very special on her birthday. The food was awesome. Champagne super yummy. Everything adorable. Will definitely be back!
