We had an awesome time dining at the Bird Cafe. They handled a large crowd of 12 masterfully while the Parade of Lights was happening. Great food and a great place to take pictures around the fire pit upstairs over looking Sundance Square!

Great location. Food was good, but a few improvements are possible: dressing that came on Cobb salad was very average, toppings on burger were so moist that bun completely fell apart and had to eat with a fork. Drink options were very good.

We go to Bird prior to events at the Bass Hall. For a quick lunch before a play we each had a cup of chili and we split a grilled cheese sandwich. The chili is more like roast beef in gravy (really good!)

I ordered the wagyu strip steak medium. Delivered to the table late and cold. Butter on top would not melt the temperature was so cold. I even doubt it was wagyu as there was little marbling in the steak. I would not order this again.

Service was terrible. Food arrived at table before drinks did. Then reorder of drinks later never came at all. Salad order was not served. Worst place for service I have seen in some time.

Bird Cafe has never let me down! I typically go during the day for a business lunch, but chose to go this evening with my wife prior to a show at Bass Hall. Watching the Sundance Square Plaza Christmas Tree being decorated was an added plus. The cuisine was spot on and creative, as usual. If you enjoy boring, predictable food, don't go here! :)

This was a girls' night out and pre show dining. We were seated on the patio; better to see the Christmas tree being lighted in Sundance Square.
Jacob was our waiter and did an amazing job keeping six ladies happy with food and drinks.
We enjoyed great comfort food. The menu has something for everyone.

My husband and I️ were in Ft Worth visiting the art museums. Since we never venture out to Ft Worth, i wanted him to try the Bird cafe, since we are such fans of the Meddlesome Moth (sister restaurant) in Dallas. I made a reservation for 2:30pm and arrived a few mins early. We were seated, but were told we had to order within the next 10 mins to get food. Because they were changing over their menu and wouldn’t be serving food again until 4pm. And because they only served brunch until 3:00pm- even though it was only 2:30. And even though on open table the restaurant takes reservations in 15 min increments throughout this time that they are “changing over” and not serving food.
Ok whatever, maybe they just need to update, so i rushed to order something. The waiter came back and told us they were out of the both the drink and the food we ordered.
So after the 10 min window to eat any food at all had passed, we gave up and ordered two top shelf margaritas instead. We waited another 15-20 mins and received our bill. To our surprise those margaritas were $25 each. Annoying. We looked around for our waiter, instead the hostess came to the table. We explained our disappointment and nothing was done, nor even an apology offered. After 45 mins wasted trying to give this place a chance, we left irritated and disappointed and ended up driving all the way back to Dallas to eat at the Meddlesome Moth instead. I️ will not be making the effort to give this place another chance, and should have never given them a chance in the first place. The staff is rude and unconcerned and the restaurant seems to be unorganized and poorly run.

It would have been a wonderland experience except for the fact it was early in the evening around 5:30 and there were hardly any tables taken on the patio, and we asked to sit so that we could see the fountains but she refused to sit us there. Instead she wanted most everyone to crowd in the very corner patio for some reason. The Waitress gave us some lame excuse why we had to sit in that section. We even asked her to ask the table manager, but no luck there either. Started our dinner on a bad note.

Liked the food options and the atmosphere. However, our Korean shortribs were tough and very fatty. Good food choices-just need the food to be better.

What made the experience the best it could be was our waiter, Homer. He was spot on with the drink and meal advice. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. Great service. We will go back because of Homer.

We ordered deviled eggs, Wagyu Tartare, and Robert Marley Lollipops. The deviled eggs were very bland as well as the Wagyu. The Lollipops were amazing! The drinks we ordered from the bar were pure alcohol. The building is cool and it's a great location! I feel that they won't be there long if they don't up their game a bit.

We went to Bird Café prior to attending an event at Bass Hall. A friend had mentioned the "small plates" atmosphere which sounded perfect for our date night. I was super disappointed in food quality and taste! We had gone on to Yelp to see others reviews and tried the chicken skin chips and ribs - the flavor profile did not suit us. (My husband had an upset stomach all night!) For cocktails: Who does not service Tito's Vodka? Beyond inflated price for a Vodka/soda with lime, I was shocked that they charged separate prices for the Vodka and $1 for club soda! CRAZY! We will not return for food and only to sit on patio on patio and people watch.

This is good—the portions can come small. The 3 meats, 3 cheeses—put enough in there for two of your going to call it shareable. Incredibly small amounts of cheese and meat, for $16! Same with some of the brunch items, the bread basket was enough for one person!

With a spot like this, the place should have been packed at 7pm, even on a Thursday. But the unspectacular food was probably the reason. Seems that it may have been "found out" and it isn't getting repeat business. I had the Steak Frites. The Friites were good, but not great. The steak was cooked correctly, but dry. The au jus reduction was good. It rescued the plate. My dining partner had the Cod and fries (same as my Frites). She did not finish it. Neither the fish nor its batter had been seasoned and the fish was, well, fishy. Should have been light and juicy with a tasty batter. Surely if that can be done successfully in any number of other places--including fast food restaurants and food trucks--a kitchen like this place must have should be able to nail it. We came to this place a couple years ago and I can't remember if it was good, but apparently it was unmemorable. This makes twice that Bird has not impressed, and that makes it a place that's occupying a space that could serve our beloved Sundance Square better.

Let me just start out with saying that we love Meddlesome Moth & were very excited when the owners opened up a sister restaurant in Fort Worth. This was our second time trying it out. First time wasn't a good experience, we were hoping it was just a fluke. Service & atmosphere was great, unfortunately the food is just consistently super bland. Next time might just be for predinner cocktails, their cocktails are awesome by the way.

Pot pie very dry, crust had too much Crisco or whatever oil in it, and hardly any meat. I would not bother with the rabbit meat one, which is what our waiter recommended over the beef. He was nice enough to replace mine with beef one, which is slightly better. Presentation of the pot pie is great, though.

Have been here several times. Has always been a nice experience until last Sunday. The kitchen was out of several things on the menu and server did not let us know until after we had ordered. We had to choose different entrees twice. Then it did take over 30 mins to get to the table. The restaurant was not busy. We will come back. But will expect a better experience next time.

The patio was loud and the service was not at all what I expected. We went for breakfast for one of my friend's birthdays. Their breakfast menu looked appetizing so we decided to go there for his birthday. He enjoys sundance square so we thought that the Bird Cafe would be perfect. Well it wasn't. Our server couldn't hear half of what we were saying because 1) she didn't care and 2) it was so loud! One of our guests just wanted bacon and fried eggs and the server had trouble accommodating him and seemed to not care. The tables outside were too small and inadequate for a party of 4. WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!

We stopped in for dinner prior to a show at Bass Hall. So convenient-itsright across the street! But I found it thru OpenTable!

All the plates are designed for sharing, which was a fun difference. My husband and j shared the beet salad (almost my favorite part of the meal!), the bacon 'stick meat' (um, hello funnel cake and holandaise sauce so good I wanted to lick the bowl) the double Bone-in Pork Chop (ok, we went a little pork heavy on the ordering) that was melt in your mouth awesome. And since we shared all that, we had room for the blueberry cobbler dessert.
We 100% enjoyed every bite of our meal, and our server was helpful without being too too. The place makes you feel like you're hip, even if maybe you're not.
I wish it was closer to where we live, I'd be a regular!
