I have dined at the Bird Cafe several times for brunch prior to Fort Worth Symphony matinee performances. The meals have always been delicious. On my recent visit, I really enjoyed the Texas steak and eggs while my dining partner raved about her chicken entree. Although the chicken is fried, its coating is light and very crispy while the meat remains moist. We'll come back again.
The food overall was horrible. I had the biscuits with ham & the grilled peaches & granola. The orange juice was served over ice. I was told it was fresh squeezed but not sure about that. The patio was booked which was a disappointment but even that would not have improved the food. The service was not the quality I would expect for the prices
Great food and service. The food was delicious and served in minutes. The wait staff on it. Will return happily.
Friendly service from female server, food arrived quickly but with little formality..male server asked, Duck? And then put the dish on the edge of table away from me, not in front, no 'enjoy your meal' etc
Setting-ambience was great! Our waiter was very attentive! The New Old Fashion was excellent-very smooth. Our Spring salad was refreshing! The shrimp and grits were delicious and the sauce tasty, tasty. My disappointment was with the duck dish. The sauce was delicious but minimal tiny pieces of duck were almost hidden under the extremely thick dumplings. Otherwise the overall experience was extremely enjoyable!
Perfect brunch on Mother’s Day! Second time eating there both times were great and outdoor seating is the best! Will definitely go again
This is a wonderful place to eat. Took both my wife and Mother in law and had incredible and delicious brunch. Outstanding service and the food is just awesome. Location and ambiance is perfect for busy business folks in Downtown or anyone visiting the square. It’s on my wish list for Father’s Day!
Yes for service and attention by owners! But the noise level made it hard to talk...very unnerving.
Our second time and second review. This experience was lunch. Not busy, had reservation requesting booth, tried to seat us at a table, I mentioned booth, caused the hostess mental distress. Those problems seemed to continue to the server.
Chips good, smoked chix salad sandwich good, reuben sandwich marginal. They believe that thick brisket makes a good reuben - not so! They tried for "homemade kraut" - misses the mark.
Our first visit was dinner during a festival and the managers had not planned well, ran out of food items and drink items. This lunch visit was not busy so no excuse for slow service - as in other people getting food before us who came in after and placed orders after us.
We love the Bird Cafe and have dined here multiple times usually with out of town guests. For our visit on Saturday night the food and drinks were amazing, the service however was not good. We arrived early to catch the Kentucky Derby and after 5 minutes the bartender finally came over and just stood in front of us no greeting, no can I help you, just an awkward stare like we had ruined his night by being there. I finally said we would like some drinks, he took the order, prepared the drinks then just sat them in front of us with no words. When we got our table the waitress was equally un inspiring, finally took our order then disappeared, cam back with the main course, but totally forgot to bring the appetizers or ask for additional drink orders.
Again, food is terrific and we love the location and atmosphere, but if service doesn't get better we will probably take it out of the rotation.
Great food and good service
The food was great, cozy patio, but it took forever to get our cocktails and our appetizer came out with our meal. No fault of our server b/c we saw him hussle the entire visit. Kitchen and bartender need to get moving...you’re ruining the experience.
The food was delicious and I enjoyed the location especially. Would definitely recommend to friends and family for a great date night!
This was pre-show dining during Sunday brunch. The staff was great in helping us get to the show at Bass Performance Hall in time. We’ll be back!
Amazing find near Sundance Square. We had a wonderful brunch with the family. Everyone loved what they ordered - don't miss the house potatoes. Even though we did not get seating out on the patio, the buildings architectural touches inside were beautiful. Wonderful staff. Will come again for dinner on our next trip to FW.
Nice place and very convenient for us! We will definitely be back!
Worst dinning experience that we have had in a long time.
Enjoyed Easter brunch at Bird Café, dining upstairs. Food was very good, as usual, and the bloody Mary was excellent. It’s a great place to take people from out of town to enjoy an historic Fort Worth building and sightsee around Sundance Square.
Great find on Sundance Square. A very ambitious menu from Chef Kyle removes this place from the ordinary to definitely worth a visit! The short ribs were delectable!
We went for a birthday and got wonderful, consistent service. Our waiter, Homer, was attentive. Our food, was well prepared. And once the heaters were replaced for fans, the weather was just short of perfect. It was a lovely location and one I would visit again. As far as first impressions go, it made a splash. Thank you for helping my 25th birthday be memorable.
Great Brunch. Poached eggs on POINT. Staff is Super friendly Julie is the Best server. Cannot wait to enjoy the patio this spring.
Bird Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants. We have season tickets to Bass Hall and Bird Cafe is the perfect spot for a pre-show dinner. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed on our last visit. We always order the muscles because usually they are some of the best you can get. This time, however, they were a little gritty and there could have been a little more sauce. Other than that small disappointment, the rest of the meal was fantastic. We had the Farmer's meat and cheese board, the pickled deviled eggs and for dessert, the cheesecake. We will be back and we are hoping it was just an off night for the muscles.
Interesting menu. Restaurant was out of the ingredients to make one dinner and one cocktail we ordered.
Server said, "So except for being out of the dinner and drink you ordered everything else was good, right?"
Shrimp and grits were very good. Ribs were fair. Duck and dumpling was okay.
Would give them another try, but won't rush back to do it.
Quite possibly the best burger I’ve had. And I’ve had quite a few! Great place to eat before you head over to Bass Music Hall. Just walk across the street!
Food was good, waiter a bit cranky. Mostly positive experience
Bird Cafe is always a planned restaurant stop while in Fort Worth. Located in the heart of Sundance Square, the food is always top notch and unique. The drink specials are creative and the service has never been anything but impeccable. Highly recommend!
Wonderful brunch, delicious drinks, perfect location.
Great brunch. Food was good but selection was small. Mimosas and Bloody Mary were wonderful!’ Staff was a lil slow but the place was packed. The building is beautiful.
It was a very good experience. We had friends that came to meet us so we wanted to be sure our dining experience was good. They also enjoyed the restaurant and that made us feel good!!
Food is delicious, though you do not get a lot with some of the dishes. The shrimp and grits only had about 1/2 cup of grits with 4 shrimp; more of an appetizer. RSVP was at 6pm and we let the waitress know we had to be to a show at 7:30 pm. We were seated by 6:10 pm, no appetisers ordered, didn't receive our food until almost 7pm which made us rush to eat and run to the show. We didn't order anything very conpkex. Disappointed because we let them know ahead of time our time commitment but still had a decent wait and had to rush. Worth it if you have extra time to spare.
I was disappointed with the meal I had. I ordered the shrimp and grits plate. The portion served was more like an appetizer. The meal came with 4 shrimp and a scoop of grits. The meal tasted great but the was way to small for the price of $23.
Very great place for breakfast!!
The patio was very nice and fun. The food was OK, but VERY over priced for the tiny portions that you get.
We had the mussels for an appetizer and the black cod with asparagus as a main course. The mussels were OK, but not as flavorful as others we've had in different restaurants. They were served with plenty of bread, though, to sop up the juice. The cod was cooked to perfection and the asparagus creme that covered the rest of the plate was good, although it didn't have much of an asparagus flavor. Peach cobbler for dessert -- a BIG serving. I don't think this place is quite worth the cost. One of us had the Pinot Grigio and another had a strawberry caipirinha. Both were fine. Service was attentive and excellent.
My friend and I enjoyed terrific brunch entrees at Bird Cafe and we'll definitely come back again. Apart from a noisy crowd at an adjacent table, our whole experience was really great. It was Saint Patty's Day, so the noisy ones can be excused for celebrating a once a year event.
Steak was just ok. The fries were wonderful and the wait staff superb !
Really enjoyed the evening. The food and the service was excellent. Beautiful space As well
Adorable interior great mimosas and food. What’s not to love?
Really nice little spot for brunch in downtown. Food was excellent. Will be back.
