Lovely meal and even better service! Recommend sitting outside on the plaza side—outdoor music makes it a bit loud, but nothing my parents couldn’t handle. Take a glass of wine upstairs to the rooftop patio for an after dinner drink and fun view!
Brunch - amazing. Had a fabulous time. Great food & terrific service. Will definitely be back.
Previously only had a cocktail at bird cafe- went for a girl date this weekend and was disappointed by the lackluster food and the disregard for presentation. The spinach salad was nice and what I was expecting but it went downhill from there- the deviled eggs were very bland and sloppily presented- if they were say $7-8 that wouldn’t have been as bad but they cost $14. The Brussels sprouts were essentially steamed without seasoning and pieces of very salty smoky pork were thrown in- the flavors were distinct and did not really elevate the dish. Also overpriced for the lackluster presentation and taste. Tried fried chicken skin- of course fried food is delectable but even the sauce on the dish became flat and monotonous. If the prices had been half what they are I would have been less disappointed. We got cafeteria quality for bistro prices. I suppose the rent/overhead is high? Maybe we went at an off time? I think there is a lot of potential for improvement.
Brought family members for a birthday celebration. The food was mediocre at best. The entrees were OK. For dessert, the bread pudding wasn't fit to eat and the blueberry cobbler just so-so. The menu isn't anything to get excited about but with fairly limited choices you'd think they would excel at what comes out of the kitchen. It is a wonderful location but the noise level was high thanks to a rowdy crowd near the bar. The restrooms are upstairs and it is a steep, narrow stairwell with probably 20 steps. It wasn't a problem for me but any older persons might have a struggle. I have been here before a couple of times but this trip will be my last.
Sat outside on a beautiful spring evening, before ballet at the Bass. Great food, excellent service...hope to become “regulars”!!!
I really like this restaurant and have been several times. It's one of my favorites since it's on the square, easy valet parking and isn't a chain that we have in Dallas. However, I was a little disappointed with the service. We came late at 12:30 and it was decently quiet and by 1, most had cleared out. It took over 15 minutes to get dessert and then when we asked to have our valet parking validated, she told us to walk up to the hostess stand to do it. I was a little surprised as I had dined here for a business lunch a week before and our server was fantastic and offered to validate our parking without us even asking. But the food was good and I would return.
Sundance Square jewel! Nice atmosphere, creative cuisine, and always great service.
Never too loud, which makes it the BEST place to have a business lunch!
I was told by the hostess that my wait was going to be 20 minutes. 45 minutes passed and I was not seated yet. Then I saw people going in front of me and I asked why? She told me that they had a reservation. It was strange to me that she would not move or do
anything to accommodate us specially having a long wait. At that point I made a reservation at sat me immediately even though there were open tables since 40 minutes before. Horrible horrible experience
The food was ok. The service not so good. I’m not coming back.
Homer was an excellent server and addressed my multiple food allergies with grace and respect. The food was delicious and the ambiance was fantastic.
Great service, atmosphere and service. We were a large group for Sunday brunch and with add the incredible Bird Mimosa to the experience, the bill was extremely reasonable.
Had brunch. The badass bacon waffles were great-need to have syrup with them to complete the meal. The crawfish Benedict lacked flavor and was bland. It was to be creole-inspired, but fell significantly short. I would pass on that dish and try something else. Bloody Mary was amazing. Waitstaff was kind and very good.
We love this place! We come out here every few months and always have good service and their food is amazing! The mimosas are very good! Absolutely would recommend trying it if you haven’t already, it is worth the 45 minute drive from Carrollton!
Beautiful building in a great location. Food is high quality though lacked flavor. Staff was pleasant & helpful. Feel like my next visit will be a bottle of wine & enjoying the upstairs patio would be ideal.
Service was AMAZING! Great for appetizers or a full meal. We had the hummus to start and all had the seafood chowder which was very good. This place is cute and unique, right on the square. Also has a cute upstairs patio for when the weather is nice!
Absolutely awful Valentine’s Day dinner. Ran out of the duck that we wanted. And the dessert we wanted! The meat was terrible. Me and my girlfriend were very unhappy with the experience. Over $200 bill that I wouldn’t have paid $40 for. Will never be dining again, and will tell all my friends never to go to bird cafe either. Terrible experience. I will be writing very bad yelp review
We booked a table for Valentine’s Day. I procrastinated so the only reservation time was close to 8pm. No prob. We thought we’d walk around downtown for awhile. However when we walked by the place was DEAD. Seriously only like 5 tables being used so we went in and were seated right away. Why weren’t there any reservations avail earlier?!? So we sit down for the pre fix menu. I normally love the food here but they did not have their A game this night. For the price I expected better options. My husbands steak was not cooked to the temp he requested. The table next to us had to send their steak back twice to get their temp correct. We were told that the dessert we requested was all gone so we got a substitute yet some how another table with more people managed to get the dessert even though they ordered after us. The side dish had no flavor. Drink menu prices were incorrect. It was a very expensive disappointing night.
Overall very good food and very nice Ambience. Service was a little slow that's always very polite.
Not our first visit, but the Valentine's Day menu was outstanding. Service was great and the ambiance is conducive to conversation
Met with friend - perfect noise level to catch up. Waiter fantastic!! Food very good. .. with the exception of the steak being served rare. Which was immediately noted and taken to kitchen for more cooking. Excellent steak for steak frites but the fries were overdone-probably due to returning to kitchen. We will definitely come back
Shared plates of yummy food, great service and atmosphere.
We visited Bird a cafe for brunch on a VERY cold a Sunday morning. They have a lovely patio, but with temperatures in the 20’s we were obviously seated inside upstairs. The menu was awesome and our waitress was attentive and adorable. Our food was SPOT ON - creative and delicious and the mimosas were wonderful as well. We all had something different: Badass Bacon Waffle, Mother and Child Reunion, Texas Steer and Eggs and finally Chicken and Waffles. I can’t wait to return on our next visit to Fort Worth.
Very pleasant experience, enjoying brunch on a cold morning, nice comfortable climate indoors, staff was very helpful and considerate, dish was very flavorful, would recommend
Consistently very good and the service by our favorite waiter, Homer, keeps us coming back for the food, ambiance and exemplary service.
Really enjoyed the food
Unique share plates
Our server Lennon was g reat
Overall very good, my only complaint is that if you sit upstairs (which I prefer) the service is slightly slow. Also, the cheese plate needs more than (8) crackers and the cheeses/meats could be a bit fresher. We were there on a Saturday so I can't imagine why anything would be day old.
Prefect brunch with someone special.
Always an excellent choice!
I love the friendly, knowledgeable service and wonderful cuisine.
So nice to be able to enjoy conversation with your friends with the quiet/moderate noise level.
Almost no options for gluten free. No salt on the tables. (And the food needed salt).
Coffee was very weak.
It was our first time there and it did not disappoint. Other than being a little noisy, everything was very good. We will be back.
We came for a friend birthday brunch. Everything was spectacular
Bird Cafe is an amazing place to eat for any occasion. Their brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday with a menu that will delight any foodies appetite. The service is always great and the ambiance is peaceful and comfortable.
Food was delicious! Love the duck leg special! The cocktails were delicious. Our entrees were fish, duck breast, filet, and a hamburger. All were delicious and beautifully presented.
Great atmosphere, great food and great service, what more can I say!
Excellent restaurant! Sat out on the patio and had a fabulous brunch. Loved it!!
Excellent choice for Sunday Brunch in downtown Sundance Square area in Fort Worth. Came highly recommended and did not disappoint. My wife had the "mother and child reunion" Amazing fried chicken with poached eggs over grits. I had the steak and eggs. Both dishes were nicely spiced, very good flavor and good portions. Loved it, will go again.
Our waitress (Sydney - not sure if I got the spelling right) was fabulous. Courteous, friendly and took the time to answer our many questions as it was our first time at the restaurant.
We will be back!
Love the Bird Cafe, but had only been there for a week day lunch. My best friend and I had theater tickets to the Bass on Saturday and as she had never been to the Bird before, I made us lunch reservations. Very disappointed they did not serve lunch until after 2pm on a Saturday. Only had the brunch menu. Brunch was good, but not what we wanted.
I’ve eaten at Bird Cafe twice now and both times were great! The wine list is huge and the menu is small but interesting. Service is efficient but very friendly. But what really sets Bird Cafe apart is its location. The entrance is on Sundance Square and it looks out at Bass Hall! Both times I was downtown for a musical and this is the perfect place to dine before attending Bass Hall!
The restaurant has a very neat atmosphere. Much quieter than a lot of the restaurants downtown, so a great place for conversation. Service was prompt and attentive. Our waiter, Joey, guided us through the menu and we were happy with all his suggestions. Overall, a great evening. Menu is unique, so the food stands out.
