Service was very poor. It was a very warm evening and it took 20 minutes from the time we sat down to get glasses of water despite asking three times. We only wanted tap water.
We selected two fish and seafood appetizers that were brought in serving dishes and we were given each given a small
Plate to use. As was appropriate they cleared our small plates and knives and forks before the next meat and vegetable courses. They came to our table twice bringing the serving plates with the rest of the food but neither time did they bring us plates or cutlery to use. We pointed that out to two different employees who brought the food. We then asked two others servers who we had to wave down to bring us plates and cutlet. Inexplicably, we had to wait 15 minutes after the food was placed on the table for plates and cutlery to eat it. By the time we ate the food it was completely cold.
While the restaurant treated us to our drink the bottom line is we had to eat cold food for dinner. It was obvious that the staff was not well trained especially the people busing and bringing the food to the table. Twice during our supper they tried to bring us food that was meant for different table. I suggest they get people trained as the level of service was probably the worst I have had in the wine country. We had been to the restaurant pre-Covid at least three times and had no issues with the food or service.
Great small plates. We were able to share a few things and left very happy.
I had high hopes based on Yelp reviews but the food and service were just average. The arugula salad was just a pile of arugula with a sprinkling of blood orange, big chunks of Gouda, and a characterless dressing. The potatoes were just deep fried chunks with a bland mayonnaise -based dipping sauce. The grilled shrimp was pretty good though a bit overcooked and the sauce was oily and bland. The lamb meatballs with black eyed pea hummus were the highlight. The herb pesto was delicious and a red pepper sauce provided a kick, plus pea shoots rounded out the dish. The Korean chicken was good but the veggies were nearly raw and the sauce fine but nothing special. The servers were young and experienced. We had to ask twice for dirty plates to be replaced. They seemed to lack confidence or the sophistication that should come at this price point. The wine list included nice choices by the glass.
Perhaps trying a bit too hard. Some good food items but nothing stellar. Thrice cooked potatoes are good not great, but accompanying onion dip was lackluster. Mac and cheese also decent but overly salted. Cheese curds were simply disappointing. Done with a heavy like panko batter that detracted from the curd especially since the batter was under seasoned if seasoned at all. Also, curds were gloppy and clung together. We won't rush back but may give it another try at some point to be fair.
My food was not good, They never drain the spinach and the water run into the grits and fish, so it was basically soup, my husband order gumbo,he like it but it is smaller size now. Before Covid he was unable to eat the whole thing. For the price you should get better quality. And don’t get me started on drinks, very disappointing
Service is tapas style - as a party of 4 we ran out of room on our table. Good selection, food was good, nice wine selection. Loud road noise. Tables were a bit small for dinner
Love this place! I’ve been here a couple times. You can bring your dog on the patio, but I wouldn’t call this a dog friendly restaurant. You’re not allowed to have your dog in your lap and they do not have a dog menu. They’re not allowed to bark either. I brought my 4month old puppy, with her own water bowl & food bowl and the restaurant seemed to be fine with that. We were seated in a great location where my puppy had her own corner with plenty of space to move around.
I highly recommend this place for both humans and pets. Although if you bring your pet make sure they’re sleepy!
Always great food and great service! Highly recommend.
Our waiter was terrific! The floor vibrated a bit due to dishwasher in kitchen and noise level difficult for one of us who has tinnitus. Perhaps insulate with baffle material? But it's really great food, thank you for a wonderful evening!
Last day of our California vacation… what a perfect way to end it.
This restaurant leaves you talking about it to everyone the next day!!!
Great menu. Everything was yummy!
We enjoy Bird & The Bottle. Have eaten there many times. The food is great and the service is good.
Dinner with the Wife, fantastic cocktails and delicious sliders!
Great food, great knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere.
The food was great as always. The patio is awesome for outdoor dining. Our host Shannon took great care of us! It’s one of our top local spots and they love dogs there too so our pup can join us!
The food was delicious and the setting is beautiful.
Very accommodating, friendly and attentive service-- we had Friday 4pm reservations on the patio and were late by 20 mins -- the host not only held our reservation but reseated us inside at our request because of the wind. Our dishes arrived in perfect timing, empty plates removed instantly. Beautiful ambiance, capable, cheerful wait staff, outstanding lamb meatballs, flank steak and greens-- It was a lovely lovely dinner and we'll definitely be back!
Every item we ordered was delicious! I would not hesitate to recommend Bird & The Bottle. Just go!!
Tapas style menu. Unique dishes. Variety of cultural influences.
Fabulous vegetarian menu and many vegan friendly options! Lovely service and great cocktails!
Would not recommend. Food was mediocre, front patio on a busy street and cocktails tasted like Capri Sun.
Great food, but don’t sit in the upstairs back room. You feel like you’re on a time-out. Weird vibe- empty cold and unwelcoming. Everything else was great
Service was great. Food was messy and hard to eat, but tasted good.
Food was good or very good in some cases. The drinks were excellent except for the wine which tasted a little old. The service was good right up until one diner bit into a pepper served in the sauce on the chicken and it was super hot. When we mentioned to the waiter that he should let people know the peppers were hot, he said we should be able to tell by the color! Not good service.
First time at this Stark restaurant. We love Bravas and noticed the familiar menu organization. Being mostly vegetarian, we appreciated the Food Without a Face section of the menu that allowed us to try a number of dishes. Most restaurants have a single veggie “main” and a few sides or salads. While Bird & The Bottle has plenty of meat on the menu, we had a lot to choose from. Service was friendly and efficient. Suggestion: Order a couple of items at a time. The come fast, and if you order all at once, you may get overwhelmed. Nice by-the-glass wine selection, too. Choose the carrot cake for dessert.
Don’t order the gulf prawns. That was my main entrée choice and they were very mushy. Should’ve sent them back. I would say the food in general did not have the pizzazz that Stark restaurants are known for. As though someone with little talent/experience was following a recipe.
I know times are tough for all the restaurants. The best thing about B & B is that outdoor dining on the roof patio. And the staff are nice. I’ll try them again but they won’t be a regular go to place for me at this point.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. My husband and and I really enjoyed our time there and we will be back to try different plates.
Just needed a bit of salt, menu was nice and the cocktails are fantastic
Bird and the bottle was not what I expected. All of their food items were tapas sized. The menu was a bit confusing but I’m old and not hip. Ha ha the food was tasty everything except the sweet pickles on the fried chicken bites. Who eats sweet pickles? 😂 the service was good and attentive. My food came out a good time before everyone else’s which sucks when your eating with a group.
Fantastic taste variations in small portion dishes, so can try many different types of foods done creative and delicious. Don’t miss it
Great food, great service, and all the dishes were cooked to perfection. All the meat dishes were tender and packed with flavor.
Great food, fun idea. Tapas and small plates to share. A little expensive and didn’t realize that the plates were so small but we ended up sharing at our table. Ribs and wontons were excellent.
Great experience and food but there was a rat on the porch while we were there.
Amazing waitress. Amazing food.
Great food and service as always.
Opted to be seated outside when making the reservation. Service from hostess greeting us to the waiter's approach and continued service was excellent. Food was amazing, the Smokey Pokey is a must have if you like raw ahi, and the lamb meatball dish which is enough to share was also a big win at our table. Nice wine list by the glass, 1/2 bottle or full bottle, love having those 3 options. This is one of our go to restaurants for lunch!
Can't go wrong here. Everything is great.
Thank you so much
Delicious and unique food, lovely atmosphere and ambiance.
I was pleasantly surprised about this place. From the quality of the food to the attentive service. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in Santa Rosa.
