Bird & The Bottle
Aimed at bringing street food to life, the Bird & The Bottle in Santa Rosa, CA is the end result of a pair of award-winning restaurateurs looking to blend a surprising array of flavors. Asian, American South, East Coast, Jewish and other cuisines have been combined to create an unforgettable menu.
The menu at Bird & The Bottle features cocktails and an extensive wine list, and foods range from nibbles to larger plates. Everything has been chosen to pair well, and options include seafood favorites, poultry classics like matzo ball soup but also Korean BBQ chicken. There is a vegetarian menu with everything from fried cheese curds to smoked beets, but there are also pork and beef choices in abundance. A visit to Bird & The Bottle has to finish up with a dessert, and the "goo goo pie in another jar" is a must try.
Had a great time! Food was excellent. Great table. Our server Laura was incredible!!! She helped make it a wonderful evening and great reunion with my friends! Thank you!
Delicious food, yummy cocktails and great service. I will definitely return!
Our waiter was great. Had to give less than 5 stars only because There was a mistake on the order of a dairy-free item that came as regular menu item with cheese sauce. The replacement with the correct item only came as we done eating and ready to leave. We took it in a box with us.
Other than that, the food and attentive service was super!
We were visiting Santa Rosa for just a day and this restaurant was the perfect place! The vibe, service, and food was wonderful. Our waiter was attentive and kind. The poutine and fried chicken was delicious! Would highly recommend to our friends.
Before my last two experiences I would have highly recommended this place. Now I would not. My dining companion and I ordered 4 items and each was either encased in overcooked, tasteless crust which added nothing to the ingredient, or undercooked - e.g. the artichoke - to the point of inedibility. The margaritas were a triumph of sugar over taste. A lovely environment does not trump good food.
Delicious small plates should be shared with the table. This is a good place for families celebrating something special or for date night. The cuisine and staff are versatile.
The menu has been revised since the last time we went to Bird & The Bottle—it’s terrific! Small delicious plates to share. Loved everything we ordered. service was excellent and we sat upstairs for the first time. upstairs is probably quieter than downstairs (bar is downstairs) but the noise level was still moderate. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there!
Enjoyed the drinks and food. Unique cocktails and dishes. Everything was delicious.
Everything was wonderful. Our food was tasty, cocktails were awesome, and our server, Brooke, was the best! Cute decor too. We really enjoyed everything about the place and would not hesitate to come back if we were in the area again. And Brooke just made it that much better with her warm, friendly, attentive service.
Very classy. It has a killer vegetarian section of the menu.
Went with a vegetarian friend. We appreciated the number of veggie selections on the menu. We especially enjoyed the Little Gem Salad and the Thrice Fried Potatoes. Beets were good, too. Serfvice staff was very friendly, helpful and patient. We didn't feel rushed. The wine prices were a little high, we thought, and the noise level a bit high for comfortable conversation during the first part of the meal, but settled down after a while. It was an enjoyablel experience and I'll definitely return.
We had an overall great experience! Enjoyed our unique cocktails! Out of 5 dishes, 4 were excellent and one, the Salmon, was okay but wouldn't order it again. Nice atmosphere, however a bit noisy and our table had a bench and 2 leather lounge chairs that, although comfortable to lean back in, were not ideal for eating and we had to sit on the edge of the chair while we ate. Still, we really enjoyed out dinner and will definitely be back!
We had the Cobb Salad, smoked black cod salad and korean barbecued chicken. The Cobb salad good, but not great. The black cod is excellent and the Korean barbecued chickn was excellent. The service was very good and all the staff were friendly. We have eaten there before and we will return.
Great food, great cocktails, all of the staff were on point! My favorite place to eat for sure.
Really enjoyed my experience. The meal was delicious and the servers very attentive. It was a warm evening and we sat outside. Can't wait to explore more of the menu, especially desserts.
This was visit 5 or 6 to this restaurant, so my wife and I thought we knew what to expect. This time we were seated alone in a small side room next to a VERY large party (40-50?) which was so loud conversation was impossible, despite the doorway separating rooms. Our server was MIA after taking the order so we refilled our own water glasses. We saw her next after ~40 minutes, when we were finally able to tell her one of the dishes had been overlooked. The food was perfect - my wife and I are big fans of the Stark restaurants and will continue to visit their others, but never Bird the restaurant is a converted residence, so ceilings are not very high and sound bounces like mad. In this case, the second floor should have been booked for the large party alone, so other patrons wouldn't have had to endure the noise and poor service from (understandably) distracted and harried staff.
Great food and wonderful service in a beautiful locale.
The food was tasty but felt a bit pricey for the portions on some items. We went early and asked for table upstairs which is a bit quieter than the downstairs eating area. Great service!
The House that holds Bird in the Bottle has been lovingly restored and is both modern, eclectic and historic. We were so disappointed that the duck had been taken off of the menu. The dished we ordered made up for it in spades. Each dish was exquisite but our group gave the highest marks to the smoked beets
and the chicken liver pate.
Went there twice on my wine weekend and enjoyed the bar and the outside seating. Erin was awesome with food choices and wines. I'll be back.
We found the sharing of plates led to ordering more total food than we really needed, as in our 4-person group everyone wanted to get one or two items. Service was a bit protracted, so we ended up drinking more wine over the course of the evening than usual. Resulted in a rather high bill, but a factor was maybe 2 of our party seeming to lose count of their numbers of glasses of wine.
Awesome place for small plates and sharing!
Only bummer was the parents at the next table letting their toddler run around the tables and the legs of wait staff while they were trying to work, while screaming. No bueno. Management did not address at any point.
GREAT TAPAS STYLE MEALS, THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT! WE HAD MANY DISHES, BUT OUR FAVORITE WERE THE CHEESE CURDS, IRON STEAK, CRAB HUSH PUPPIES AND LAMB MEATBALLS
We love the small plate format and the inventive menu, both food and drinks. Service is always excellent
We do enthusiastically recommend Bird and the Bottle to friends and other people we meet.
Always good. Street Traffic was loud on deck, but dog friendly, so all good
Everything was fabulous, creative cocktails, delicious sharables, the little gem salad, and Cobb salad were scrumptious and a good size. Other tasty bites were the mini burgers and fried chicken sandwich. Would return next time I am in Santa Rosa. The host was awesome making sure I got my finding points. Thanks!
This was our second time at Bird and the Bottle and it won't be our last. We love the small plates concept and the way ingredients are paired in unusual and delicious ways. The high point for me this time was the pastrami tacos. Who ever would have thought of combining pastrami and kimchi, much less putting them together in a taco? Yum! We have become convinced that Mark Stark is a genius and recommend ANY of the Stark family restaurants.
Always delicious, love this place! Can’t get enough!
Love the inventive menu and the range of choices. Whatever you select, the food is exceptionally fresh and expertly prepared.
I Love the Stark restaurants, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around this fusion. Our server was friendly and did a great job taking care of our table. The food was overall good, however our artichoke was under cooked and the pork belly was mainly fat. Highlight of our evening was the poke and for dessert, the monkey bread! I would probably come back for appetizers and a drink, but not dinner.
We have been here many times but a first for us having the Korean chicken. Absolutely delicious!
Always outstanding food, service. Smoky poke bowl is to die for, every time. Also love bbq octopus, little gem salad, drinks.
Fantastic place! The food was so unique and full of flavor. A wide variety of options that were perfect to enjoy with the family. Great place for an anniversary dinner or celebrating a special occasion.
We rarely write reviews, but decided to do it for Bird it was louder than we like, but not an issue. There's an outdoor seating area which would likely be better for conversation.
Our server, Nick, was fantastic! Food was amazing (as always)!! Our favorite go to place!!!
Thanks Stark family for creating such beautiful, friendly places to gather in Sonoma County❤️
Loved our experience at Bird & The Bottle! We enjoyed a Sunday brunch there with our daughter and some of her friends for a graduation celebration. Every server, chef, busser, and hostess were very pleasant and outgoing. The interior design was nice and interesting with the different levels of the restaurant. The food was exceptional as we were sampling each dish and each was displayed uniquely adn colorfully. We plan to visit here more in the future.
Food wasn’t that good and they service it family Style Which we didn’t like cause everything comes at different times. The server seemed like she was on a bad mood and you could tell cause it was written all over her face . There was no smile from her just a how can I help you like I was at a Mc Donalds
Had a fun evening at Bird and the bottle. Nice to have small plates so everyone can share. Would definitely go back. Look forward to trying that their happy hour.
I like their overly hipster bar menu. It's like the mixer looked at the top of every bar and said, hmm, how can mix those crusty old liqueurs into new drinks? It sure does work. They have great menu items such as beet salad, steak, and cheese curds. I'm encouraged to keep going back. Battling for the patio space is a pain, but the inside ambiance is also acceptable.
