The restaurant is a tru gem along the St. Pete waterfront. The seafood was wonderfully prepared and presented. Service was excellent.

Not normal but food was mediocre for 2 out of 3 entrees. Shrimp cocktail was terrible.
Vodka martini was made incorrectly twice.

Went on Mother’s Day and waiter was rude. I asked if they could hold the Chorizo in the quiche and he said “this isn’t Burger King.” I said sorry I just don’t eat meat and he said “Well you should try another restaurant then”.
Asked for more bread for our charcuterie board and he never brought it, had to ask another waiter for it. Sarcasm and jokes are totally fine but he doesn’t know how to execute it and instead he made us uncomfortable.

The food was very good. The service less so. Wrong meal was delivered so one waited for correct meal while other finished. To their credit, management took care of it, really the main reason we'd give it a second try. Waiter was mostly invisible. Very loud.

My sons sausage was undercooked and it took quite a bit of time to get it back. I understand the kitchen was really busy because of mother’s day. Overall though it was a great experience.

The menu was not that exciting. The carpaccio was not comparable to most that I've enjoyed. The cauliflower soup was way too spicy, although warned. The service was not that attentive. The pricing was relatively high. The bar service/drinks were enjoyable, as well as the interior design.

Food was beyond exceptional. However, it took 2 hours for the food to arrive and they were not busy at all for a Tuesday. The manager never came by at anytime to apologize for the wait. Then when I went to pay the check it took another 30 minutes and me walking inside to ask what was taking so long. The manager finally came outside of her office to explain the internet was down and she could not run the credit card, I assume she never had to ever call for a voice authorization.

After all of that and me complaining, the manager never once apologized or offered anything to offset the inconvenience.

Read my reviews, when the restaurant offers a great experience along with exceptional food I always give the restaurant high marks. When the experience is sub-par I feel it warrants a similar review of my experience.

Had been a big fan but the last 2 meals were mediocre. I had sweet potato gnocchi and it seemed to be more of a stew or soup than a pasta dish. Another member of our party had the Domenico steak. Steak was not seared and almost appeared reheated. Service was also not great either. So at this price point the experience was disappointing.

We attended for brunch on a Sunday. The indoor space was very poorly sound proofed. Food was mediocre and Gluten Free options were sparse. The dishes offered no creativity and it felt blah overall.

We have been to Birch and Vine many times for dinner. As of late the food is getting worse and worse. My husband and I had the duck noodle dish which sounded great on paper but neither of our dishes had any flavor to them and the duck In the dish was medium well at best. Don’t know what is going on but won’t be going back anytime soon. The only dependable dish is their steak offerings. A real disappointment.

We visited last minute with our 2 children and everything was fantastic. Greeted warmly by hostess, nice table, comfortable temperature and very clean. Waiter was very familiar with menu and had excellent advice. He recommended the scallops and grits...the dish was amazing! More like grit cakes then the usual creamy mixture that is served at other restaurants. It made my night!!

Party of 4 had a very enjoyable evening. Started at Canopy for drinks. Headed down to a lovely outside table. Atmosphere was perfect.
My wedge salad and crab cake (app as meal ) was great. Others were less thrilled. Lamb over done. (Arrived Med when told med rare was the standard) Steak was just okay nothing special. Korean ribs tasty but arrived cold. Def could have been better.
Waitress was great. No one complained but she was told of issues at end of meal.

The menu consists of pairings my wife didn’t care for. E.G. grill ed scallops with grits. She uxyxuxhxxxuixixyxyxdoesn’t like grits. The whole menu was similarly constructed. We finished our drink and went elsewhere. Service was great, for the drinks. Was gracious with our declining to remain. The outdoor under a canopy was next to the street. They obscured it as much as they could, but the cars still made noises and exhaust, looks xoxo g

The atmosphere was very nice. My partner and I sat outside, just as I requested. The server was very kind, recommending the meal of the day and answering any questions we had about the menu. My partner ordered the NY strip steak with a side of lump crab meat, which he absolutely loved, but complained that the small portion wasnt worth the $40 price tag. I had the salmon, which was okay at best, but definitely not worth $32. I've made better salmon in my home for less. Lastly, the server convinced us to get a dessert, the bananas foster, saying it was his favorite. It was just awful. The caramelization on the bananas tasted acrid and bitter, and the sponge underneath the ice cream was hard, and flavorless. All in all, this an olay place to come to for ambiance, and if you dont mind paying extra for a steak, but very overpriced for what you get to be honest. I wont be back.

This is the 3rd time we have gone to Birch and Vine. The first was outstanding. Second food was subpar. Steak was tough and tasteless. When this was brought to waiter attention his response was "I will check back and see if you change your mind". Well we didn't and what a response. The steak did not magically get better. Manager tried to make it right. Third time- issue with food quality. Shrimp cocktail had some uncooked shrimp- waiter response was it is cooked. This is our last time. Any restaurant can have quality issue BUT need to respond better than - either check back and see if you changed your mind or it is cooked when it clearly is not.

I’ve eaten at birch and vine years ago and loved it, but this was not a good experience at all. We had a reservation and despite being early, we were accommodated right away. Our server was prompt to greet us and take our order but we were halfway through our entrees before we got our drinks.

We were seated on the front porch, so just above street level and something smelled very foul near our table.

We ordered the fried green tomato appetizer. The pork belly tasted like it had been cooked the day before and the pimento cheese tasted like artificial string cheese.. not like good pimento cheese at all, so I don’t recommend ordering this.

I ordered the truffle and brie omelet, but requested no cheese. It was covered in cheese and there’s no way any truffles were used as I did not see, smell or taste them whatsoever. My date ordered a plantain and chicken wrap and was very displeased with his as well. I also ordered a juice that was never delivered either.

For the service and the low quality of food we may still visit for a cocktail upstairs, but we will absolutely not be coming back for food.

Loved my salmon entree with a really interesting beet farro--beautifully plated and very delicious. I also ordered a salad which was huge, and would definitely recommend splitting a salad if you eat here. Husband had a different fish entree which he really enjoyed too. This place is a keeper, and don't miss going upstairs after dinner to The Canopy for after-dinner drinks and to see the awesome view!
